A compact battery and voltage supply controller apparatus for a tattoo machine is disclosed. The battery and controller are configured to connect the battery to the tattoo machine through replaceable internally received magnetic connection adapters. The toggle switch operated display screen provides easy-to-view status and health of the battery and incremental voltage adjustment using a voltage boost circuit and adjustment knob. The internal battery can be replaced and/or removed and recharged.

The machine has no oscillating mechanical components, and thus reduces or eliminates vibration. A tattoo device includes a rotary motor having a built-in motion conversion coupling. The device comprises a frame and an actuator for actuating a needle-driving shaft. The actuator includes an electric motor comprising a stator mounted to the frame, first and second bearings mounted to the frame, and a rotor comprising a rotor shaft rotatably supported at the first and second bearings, and a motion conversion member for converting rotation motion of the rotor to translation motion for reciprocally actuating the needle-driving shaft. The motion conversion member is positioned between the first and second bearings.

A system for facilitating control of and interaction with a tattoo machine and associated accessories is disclosed. In particular, the system includes a software application, which may be utilized to scan for devices within a communication range of a device executing the software application. Devices that are detected by the device and application may be wirelessly paired and/or synchronized with the application and with each other using any suitable communications technology. The detected devices, for example, may include wireless tattoo machines and associated tattoo machine accessories. Once the detected devices and/or application are wirelessly paired with each other, the system may enable a user to control the tattoo machine, the tattoo machine accessory, or both by utilizing the application. For example, the system may utilize the application to adjust settings of the tattoo machine, record tattoo machine usage, schedule tattoo sessions, and conduct a variety of other actions.

A tattoo tool is presented that receives a disposable tattoo cartridge and causes the needles of the cartridge to be constantly extended for manual tattooing. The tattoo tool includes a front cartridge-receiver for receiving a tattoo cartridge and a back handle portion. The cartridge-receiver comprises a cartridge-receiving concavity configured to accept the cartridge and to secure the cartridge in a position in which the cartridge needles are extended to reach beyond the cartridge tip and are maintained in this position. Embodiments are presented in which the tool is a single-piece tool. In other embodiments, the tattoo tool is a two-part tool that includes a front cartridge-receiver and a separable handle that can be removably attached.

A switch or footswitch for use with a tattoo machine is disclosed. The switch or footswitch may include a housing configured to protect and house a plurality of components of the switch or footswitch. The housing may include an accelerometer that may be utilized to detect an acceleration associated with the switch or footswitch, such as a tap made on the housing itself. Upon detection of an acceleration associated with the switch or footswitch, the accelerometer may generate a signal and transmit the signal to a communication device of the switch or footswitch. The communication device may then transmit the signal to the tattoo machine to activate the tattoo machine, deactivate the tattoo machine, adjust a setting of the tattoo machine, or control operative functionality of the tattoo machine. The switch or footswitch may also include a radio frequency ground plate and overlay membrane to enhance radio frequency reception.
