Protective cover for oxygen lines

A system for a protective cover including a cover assembly and a light assembly. The cover assembly includes a cover that has a slit. The slit allows retrofitting any existing oxygen lines with the cover in order to provide protection to the oxygen lines. This helps to prolong the lifespan of the oxygen lines. Further, the light assembly may include a plurality of lights. The lights are mounted to the cover in order to illuminate a surrounding area. This helps to reduce the chances that anyone trips, falls or gets injured due to the oxygen lines. The user benefits from increased safety as there are less chances that their oxygen supply is cutoff from an oxygen line becoming damaged. The oxygen lines are kept in working order for a prolonged period of time. The lights are controlled either locally or remotely, as well as manually or automatically.

The clamp includes a housing connected to a circular flange, the circular flange including a tubular wall surrounding a central bore and including at least one slot in the tubular wall sized to accept the flexible tube. A pinching element is positioned inside the central bore and is rotatable about a central axis of the circular flange. The pinching element includes a pinching projection that has a cross-sectional shape bound by a partial circle, and the partial circle has a radius substantially same as an inner radius of the tubular wall.

Transfer sets with filters, including transfer sets with filters for peritoneal dialysis (PD) systems, and associated systems, devices, and methods are disclosed herein. In one embodiment, a transfer set includes a first connector configured to be coupled to a disposable set of a PD system, a second connector configured to be coupled to a catheter of the PD system, and a fluid channel extending between the first connector and the second connector. The transfer set further includes a filter positioned within the fluid channel and configured to filter contaminants from solution flowing within the fluid channel between the first connector and the second connector. In some embodiments, the transfer set further includes a one-way valve positioned between the filter and the second connector and configured to prevent fluid from flowing through the one-way valve in a direction toward the filter.

One process comprises: helically winding a length of the medical tubing along a mandrel such that adjacent turns of the medical tubing are in contact with each other; applying solvent where the turns of the medical tubing contact each other to produce coiled medical tubing; allowing the solvent to dry; removing the medical tubing from the mandrel after the solvent has dried; and subjecting the medical tubing to a sterilization process using ethylene oxide with in-chamber aeration.

ANTI-MICROBIAL TUBING PROTECTION SYSTEM

Embodiments described herein relate to encasements for protection of central lines, arterial lines, and/or intravenous (IV) lines from contaminants, and methods of making and using the same. In some embodiments, an encasement device can include a flexible sleeve that fits over a central line and protects the central line from contaminants. The flexible sleeve has a first open end and a second open end. A first closing element secures the first open end to a medical dressing and a second closing element secures the second open end in a closed position at a location distal to the first closing element. In some embodiments, the central line can include an intravenous (IV) catheter, a peripherally inserted central catheter (PICC) and/or a hemodialysis line. In some embodiments, the device can include a flap coupled to the flexible sleeve.

A prime tube includes a sidewall defining an internal chamber having an expandable volume, a connecter associated with a proximal end of the sidewall and configured to reversibly engage an outlet of a fluid reservoir containing a medical fluid, and a closure associated with a distal end of the sidewall, the closure permeable to air and substantially impermeable to the medical fluid. The expandable volume of the internal chamber is configured to increase as the medical fluid enters the internal chamber.
