ELECTRO-ACTIVE OPHTHALMIC DEVICE SATISFYING A PRESCRIPTION FOR 5 POWER CORRECTION(S), MANUFACTURING METHOD AND USE OF A SEMI-FINISHED HYBRID LENS
The invention relates to an ophthalmic device (1) satisfying a prescription for at least one power correction for a wearer, to a method for manufacturing it and to a use of a semi-finished hybrid ophthalmic lens.
The device comprises at least one electro-active cell (3) which comprises a rear shell (4) and a front shell (5) defining for the device a backside surface and an opposite front surface, the shells (4 and 5) being provided with transparent electrodes and delimiting a sealed cavity.
According to the invention, the rear shell (4) derives from a semi-finished hybrid ophthalmic lens comprising: a front mineral part having a first mineral face proximal to the front shell (5) and a second mineral face opposite to the first mineral face, and a rear plastic part attached to the front mineral part, the rear plastic part having a front plastic face bonded to said second mineral face and an unsurfaced rear plastic face which defines said backside surface and is configured to impart said prescription to the ophthalmic device, after surfacing said semi-finished hybrid ophthalmic lens.
Methods for ophthalmic devices incorporating metasurface elements
This invention describes Ophthalmic Devices with media inserts that have nanostructured Metasurface elements upon or within them. In some embodiments passive ophthalmic devices of various kinds may be formed. Methods and devices for active ophthalmic devices based on Metasurface structures may also be formed.
ELECTROCHROMIC DEVICE AND PRODUCTION METHOD THEREOF
To provide an electrochromic device, including a laminated body, which includes: at least one support; a first electrode layer on the support; an electrochromic layer on the first electrode layer; a second electrode layer disposed to face the first electrode layer; and an electrolyte layer, which fills between the first electrode layer and the second electrode layer, and is on the electrochromic layer, the at least one support including a resin substrate, and the laminated body having a desired curve formed by thermoforming.
Silicone Elastomer-Hydrogel Hybrid Contact Lenses
A silicone elastomer-hydrogel hybrid contact lens includes a silicone elastomer layer and a hydrogel layer adhered to the silicone elastomer layer by a delamination-resistant bond that is formed by an elastomer-swellable monomer that is included in the polymerizable composition used to form the hydrogel layer.
Silicone Elastomer-Silicone Hydrogel Hybrid Contact Lenses
A silicone elastomer-silicone hydrogel hybrid contact lens comprises a silicone elastomer layer adhered to silicone hydrogel layer by a delamination-resistant bond. The silicone hydrogel layer has a percent swell of about −5% up to about 20%. The silicone elastomer layer may have one or more objects embedded within it or adhered to its surface. Such objects may include variable-focus lenses and/or electronic components.
Methods and apparatus for positioning a structure on a polymer layer
Methods and apparatus for positioning a structure on a polymer layer are described. A method may involve forming a first polymer layer. The method may further involve positioning, by an apparatus, a structure on the first polymer layer, where the apparatus comprises a rod having a first end that supports the structure as the structure is being positioned and a plunger located around the first end of the rod that presses the structure onto the first polymer layer as the structure is being positioned. And the method may involve forming a second polymer layer over the first polymer layer and the structure, where the first polymer layer defines a first side of a body-mountable device and the second polymer layer defines a second side of the body-mountable device opposite the first side.
METHOD FOR MANUFACTURING TOUCH PANEL
A method for manufacturing a touch panel, comprising the steps of: placing a touch sensor layer and a flexible printed circuit board connected to the touch sensor layer into a mold cavity constructed by a stationary mold board and a movable mold board of a cover lens mold; injecting a melted plastic material into the mold cavity; removing, after the plastic material is molded, the movable mold board, and withdrawing the touch sensor layer and the flexible printed circuit board that are covered by the molded plastic material; and removing the molded plastic material covering the flexible printed circuit board, the molded plastic material covering the touch sensor layer forming a cover lens. Such a manufacture method can solve the problem of difficulty to adhere a curved cover lens to the touch sensor layer in the existing skills.
