Vitrimers Containing Additives
Covalent network polymers that include one or more of a cure rate modifying (CRM) additive, a tack modifying additive, a flame retardant additive, a physical additive, and a viscosity modifying additive allow the viscosity, pot life, tackiness and safety of chemical mixtures and products to be tailored without sacrificing the mechanical properties or reprocessability of the final vitrimers. Use of additives also enables previously infeasible manufacturing techniques.
Plastics-based manufactured article and processes for forming said article
An oriented polymer composition (OPC) article comprising a body having a length, which is greater than any perpendicular dimension, comprised of an OPC having a softening temperature, the body having an outer surface extending the length of the body, having polymer strands aligned in the lengthwise direction of the body, wherein the length dimension stability is greater than 99% when tested by heating the article for 24 hours at temperatures at least up to and including 71 degrees Celsius after completion of the manufacture of the article and processes for forming said article.
Material systems and methods of manufacture for auxetic foams
A novel material for producing auxetic foams is disclosed. The material comprises a multiphase, multicomponent polymer foam with a filler polymer having a carefully selected glass transition temperature. Novel methods for producing auxetic foams from the material are also disclosed that consistently, reliably and quickly produce auxetic polyurethane foam at about room temperature (25° C.). This technology overcomes challenging issues in the large-scale production of auxetic PU foams, such as unfavorable heat-transmission problem and harmful organic solvents.
RESIN COMPOSITION FOR STEREOLITHOGRAPHY
The present invention provides a resin composition for stereolithography that is easily shapable with good shape precision while reducing sedimentation of inorganic particles during storage, and a obtained three-dimensional shaped article thereby excels in mechanical characteristics such as flexural strength and flexural modulus, in addition to having a desirable shade and good shade stability. The present invention relates to a resin composition for stereolithography comprising a polymerizable monomer (a), a photopolymerization initiator (b), an inorganic particle (c) having an average particle diameter of 5 to 500 nm, and a hindered phenolic compound (d), wherein the content of the photopolymerization initiator (b) is 0.1 to 10 parts by mass relative to 100 parts by mass of the polymerizable monomer (a), the content of the inorganic particle (c) is 50 to 400 parts by mass relative to 100 parts by mass of the polymerizable monomer (a), and the content of the hindered phenolic compound (d) is 0.1 to 500 parts by mass relative to 100 parts by mass of the photopolymerization initiator (b).
METHOD FOR MANUFACTURING A DOOR OF A THRUST REVERSAL SYSTEM, A THRUST REVERSAL SYSTEM DOOR THUS OBTAINED AND AIRCRAFT PROPULSION ASSEMBLY COMPRISING SEVERAL SAID DOORS
A door for a thrust reversal system, an aircraft with such a door, and a method for manufacturing a door of a thrust reversal system. The door comprises a wall formed from long fibers embedded in a thermoplastic resin matrix and a network of ribs overmolded on one of the faces of the wall. A propulsion assembly of an aircraft comprises a thrust reversal system having a plurality of such doors.
MOLDED ARTICLE WITH METALLIC APPEARANCE
The present invention relates to a molded article with a sufficiently metallic appearance and a sufficient degree of brightness.
Husk Plastic Composite, Production Method and Application Thereof
A husk plastic composite comprises a composition including: PVC 10˜20 wt %; vinyl chloride/vinyl acetate (VC/VAC) copolymer 10˜30 wt %; styrene-acrylonitrile copolymer (SAN) 1˜5 wt %; chlorinated polyethylene (CPE) 1˜5 wt %; rice husk powder 10˜40 wt %; inorganic filler 10˜40 wt %; internal lubricant 0.1˜1 wt %; external lubricant 0.1˜1 wt %, and heat stabilizer 1˜5 wt %. The VC/VAC copolymer in the husk plastic composition provided by the present invention can allow the composition to be processed by relatively lower processing temperature to save energy consumption. It will also prevent the husk powder from being burnt or decomposed due to high temperature during the heating process to allow this natural material being added in a large amount in the composition. The present invention can reduce the amount of PVC through a large amount of filling additives but still maintain in good product mechanical properties. The particle size of the husk is preferably in the range of 0.10˜0.60 mm for better hardness, stiffness and wood-like texture in the final product.
MINERAL-FILLED POLYMER ARTICLES AND METHODS OF FORMING SAME
Mineral-filled polymer compositions and methods of forming such polymer compositions into a thermally stable article are provided. Methods of forming a polymeric article include providing a polymer composition comprising a crystallizable polymer, a mineral filler in an amount of more than about 15 wt-% based on the total weight of the polymer composition, and an impact modifier, wherein the polymer composition is at a temperature less than a crystallization temperature of the crystallizable polymer. The methods further include disposing the polymer composition in a mold, forming the polymer composition into an article within the mold, and releasing the article from the mold. The methods can include thermoforming the polymer composition in a mold, or injection molding the polymer composition in a molten form in a mold.
