METHOD FOR MANUFACTURING A TIMEPIECE COMPONENT
The method for manufacturing a timepiece component (10) having at least one first portion with at least one functional flank, for transmitting energy to another component or dissipating energy from another component, and at least one second portion with a guide surface,
includes carrying out a first micro-injection (E1) forming a blank (10) of the timepiece component, the blank having the at least one first portion and the at least one functional flank and a blank of the second portion,
then a second machining (E2), particularly a second laser machining, in particular femtosecond laser machining, of at least part of the blank of the timepiece component, this part including the blank of the second portion for forming the second portion with the guide surface.
Method and system for producing a reinforcing bar, and resulting reinforcing bar
A method for producing a reinforcing bar by pultrusion, the method comprising the steps of: a) providing a source of fibres; b) assembling the fibres into a bundle; c) impregnating the bundle with a thermosetting resin; d) eliminating excess resin from the bundle; e) compressing the bundle in a centripetal manner; f) exposing the bundle to a radiant energy source; g) spraying particles onto a surface of the bundle; and h) exposing the bundle to radiation in order to initiate, on the surface of same, the polymerisation of the resin. The present invention also concerns a system provided with corresponding devices in order to be able to implement the method. The present invention also concerns a reinforcing bar obtained with the described method and/or system.
EXTENSIBLE DECORATIVE FILM INCLUDING SURFACE LAYER HAVING SCRATCH RESISTANCE AND MATTE PROPERTIES AND SURFACE COATING COMPOSITION
Provided is an extensible decorative film that includes a surface layer having excellent scratch resistance and matte properties before and after extension, and a surface coating composition that may form such a surface layer.
Non-Slip Article and Method of Use Thereof
Provided herein are an article and method for reducing or eliminating movement of a device. The article includes a top surface including a first material and a bottom surface including a second material. The first material is arranged and disposed to engage a corresponding material and the second material is a non-slip material arranged and disposed to engage a supporting surface. The method of reducing movement of a device includes providing an article including a top surface having a first material and a bottom surface having a non-slip second material; providing a device having a corresponding material attached thereto; placing the non-slip second material of the article in contact with a support surface; and placing the corresponding material on the device in contact with the first material on the article. Also provided herein is a system including an article and a device.
Bonded sheet molding composite automotive components without surface pre-treatment
An automotive assembly comprises a sheet molding composite (SMC) element comprising an SMC sheet body shaped into a generally smooth functional section and at least one generally planar bonding section. The bonding section comprises a textured surface impressed as a result of molding the SMC sheet body in a compression molding tool having a corresponding textured pattern. The textured surface has a predetermined surface roughness for increasing the effective surface area of the bonding section relative to a non-textured surface. The predetermined surface roughness is in a range from 0.25 R.sub.a (m) to 8.5 R.sub.a (m). A second element has a secondary bonding surface adjoining the bonding section of the SMC element. An adhesive joins the secondary bonding surface to the bonding section without requiring any pre-treatment of the bonding section.
Reusable, non-adhesive protective cover
A reusable, non-adhesive protective cover is disclosed which includes a first layer having an exterior surface designed to contact a structure or object during use and a second layer having an exterior surface designed to be spaced away from the structure or object. Each of the first and second layers are formed from a thermoplastic film and are joined together to form a laminate which is free of polyvinyl chloride. Each of the first and second layers contains at least about 5% of a flame retardant. The first layer has a static coefficient of friction of at least about 0.5. The second layer exhibits attachment and release capabilities such that a joint tape can be used to join adjacent sheets of the reusable, non-adhesive protective cover together and the joint tape can be removed without damaging the reusable, non-adhesive protective cover.
FROZEN FISH BLOCK PACKAGES AND METHODS FOR PRODUCING AND USING THE PACKAGES
A stackable package includes a packaging sack and a block of plate-frozen fish packed therein. The sack is a plastic sack having a second outer surface, on which the package can be laid on a stack, and an opposing first outer surface. A roughened surface-part of the first outer surface includes antislip protrusions projecting from a first wall of the sack. A skidproofed surface-part of the second outer surface includes a skidproofing material, of a suitable fibrous structure, fixed to a second wall of the sack. The skidproofing material is capable of a nonslip bond with the antislip protrusions. The sack has a wear rate of between 0 and 0.35. The wear rate is determined in a wear-rate test in which (at a temperature of 20 C. and a compression of 11557 Pa) a specimen of the skidproofed surface-part is slided on a roughened surface-part specimen and the wear rate is defined as the proportion of the number of anstislip protrusions breaking off the roughened surface-part specimen due to the slide. Accordingly, multiple packages can be manually re-stacked without losing too many of their antislip protrusions.
Transfer sheet, decorative sheet, and decorative article
A transfer sheet includes, on a base sheet, at least a release layer containing particles and having a surface roughness Ra of 0.15 to 1.0 m, a protective layer containing an ionizing radiation-curable urethane resin and having a Martens hardness of 2.0 to 40.0 N/mm.sup.2, and the adhesive layer containing an acrylic resin, that are laminated in this order. A decorative sheet is formed by transferring the transfer sheet on a support sheet. A decorative article is a resin molded article decorated by using the transfer sheet or the decorative sheet.
Extrudable Composition and Product Having Abrasive Surface
An extruded thermoplastic product having a surface abrasive to insects. The extruded product is formed from a dry powder composition being comprised of a thermoplastic polymer, a plurality of pelletized diatomaceous earth, and a plurality of expandable microballoons. The composition is mixed and heated in an extrusion machine before being forced into a die of selected profile. Cooling the material immediately after being removed from the die allows the diatomaceous earth to remain at the surface of the material. The material with the surface abrasive to insects is used is used as a component in a product, such as conventional weatherization products, for placement in a building opening that insects use as ingress to the building. Products contemplated for use with the extrusion include door sweeps, door and window seals, and thresholds.
THREE-DIMENSIONAL PRINTED OBJECTS
A three-dimensional printed object can include a fused polyamide body having electromagnetic radiation absorber embedded as particles within the fused polyamide body, and the three-dimensional printed object can further include residual benzyl alcohol soaked into a surface of the polyamide body.
