STRUCTURED ROLLERS IN THE CALENDERING AND POST-CALENDERING PROCESS
Calendering devices and processes are provided that process a fluid that has been rendered adhesive or is inherently adhesive, wherein processing typically involves forming of the fluid into a film of defined layer thickness and applying the fluid to a carrier material, post-calendering, or a combination of at least two of the above-mentioned processes. The devices may comprise a feed device for feeding the fluid, a multi-roller mechanism having at least two calendering rollers, and at least one calendering nip for processing the fluid, in which at least one of the at least two calendering rollers has an average roughness depth Rz of between 5 m and 15 m or between 9 m and 13 m.
SYSTEMS FOR FORMING COMPOSITE PARTS, METHODS OF FORMING COMPOSITE PARTS, AND METHODS OF PRECISELY PERFORMING A PLURALITY OF OPERATIONS ON A COMPOSITE PART
Systems for forming composite parts, methods of forming composite parts, and methods of precisely performing a plurality of operations on a composite part. The systems include a layup mandrel that includes a mandrel body and a plurality of regions of isotropic surface finish. The methods of forming the composite part include positioning a plurality of plies of composite material on a layup mandrel, conforming the plurality of plies of composite material to a layup surface shape of the layup mandrel, and curing the plurality of plies of composite material. The methods of precisely performing the plurality of operations on a composite part include detecting a corresponding imprinted feature of a plurality of imprinted features, aligning an operating assembly of an end effector relative to the corresponding imprinted feature, and performing a corresponding operation of the plurality of operations on the composite part.
Breath Actuated Inhaler
A breath actuated metered dose inhaler may comprise a canister fire system configured to fire a medicament containing canister in response to patient inhalation. The canister fire system may comprise a pneumatic force holding unit and having a rest configuration in which a metering valve of the canister is in a refill configuration; a prepared configuration in which a canister actuation force is retained by the pneumatic force holding unit and the canister fire system is actuatable by patient inhalation induced airflow; and a fire configuration in which the metering valve is in a dose delivery position. When in the prepared configuration, the force retained by the pneumatic force holding unit may be reduced by less than about 6% over a period of 5 minutes, preferably less than about 3% over a period of 5 minutes.
MOLDED ARTICLE
The invention provides a molded article having excellent mechanical strength, heat resistance, surface roughness, and ferroelectricity. The molded article contains a crystal of a vinylidene fluoride/tetrafluoroethylene copolymer. The crystal is a crystal and is a nano-oriented crystal that has a size of 100 nm or smaller. The molded article has an arithmetic average roughness of 3.0 m or lower.
Method of forming a reusable coextruded embossed nonadhesive protective cover
A method of forming a reusable, non-adhesive protective cover is disclosed which includes extruding first and second layers of a thermoplastic film onto a rotatable cast roll. The first layer has an interior surface and an exterior surface. The second layer is extruded onto the interior surface of the first layer to form a co-extruded laminate. The second layer has an exterior surface exhibiting attachment and release capabilities such that a joint tape can be used to join adjacent sheets of the protective cover together. The co-extruded laminate is then advanced between a nip formed by an embossing roll and a rubber roll whereby the exterior surface of the first layer contacts the embossing roll to form a co-extruded embossed laminate. Lastly, the co-extruded embossed laminate is passed around at least a portion of a chill roll to cool the laminate and form the reusable, co-extruded embossed non-adhesive protective cover.
Device and method for making a variable surface breast implant
Devices and methods are provided for making a variable textured breast implant when used in conjunction with a breast implant mandrel having a molding surface and a stem depending therefrom.
BIOLOGICAL METHOD FOR FORMING GRIP SURFACE DURING GLOVE MANUFACTURE
Systems and methods for creating a grip surface (104) of a protectant glove (100). The method may comprise dipping a glove mold into a coagulant material (206); dipping the glove mold into a nitrile coating formulation to form an outer surface of the glove (208), wherein a biodegradable material is distributed throughout the nitrile coating formulation; vulcanizing at least the outer surface of the glove to form a protectant outer surface (212); washing at least the outer surface of the glove with an enzyme solution; decomposing, by the enzyme solution, the biodegradable material that is distributed throughout the outer surface of the glove, thereby forming a grip surface of the glove comprising an open-cell structure within the outer surface (216); and drying the glove to form a final glove comprising the grip surface (218).
Optical component, injection molding die for optical component, and injection molding method for optical component
An optical component is configured to optically connect a light-emitting element and an optical fiber, and includes an optical surface arranged in a middle of an optical path of a light to be emitted from the light-emitting element to the optical fiber to reflect the light. The optical surface includes an optical path area configured to reflect the light and a non-optical path area other than the optical path area, and the optical path area and the non-optical path area are coplanar. The optical path area has a smooth surface, and at least a part of the non-optical path area has a rough surface which is rougher than the optical path area.
