ADDITIVE MANUFACTURING METHOD AND ASSOCIATED ARTICLE
A method of additive manufacturing an article in the ZX (upright) orientation utilizes a composition including specific amounts of a polycarbonate-polysiloxane and polysiloxane-treated titanium dioxide particles. Although addition of titanium dioxide particles to a plastic composition typically reduces impact strength, articles additively manufactured from this composition exhibit improved impact strength relative to articles manufactured from a corresponding composition lacking the polysiloxane-treated titanium dioxide particles.
Dual Cure Cyanate Ester Inkjet Composition
The present invention relates to an inkjet composition having 1.0-5.0 mol/kg acryloyl groups comprising: i) photo polymerization reactive compound (M) containing exactly one acryloyl group, ii) photo polymerization reactive compound (N) containing at least two acryloyl groups, iii) radical photoinitiator (R), iv) cyanate ester compound (D) containing at least two cyanate groups and v) cyanate ester curing catalyst (C), wherein (M) is different from (D) and (N) is different from (D),
25-50 mol % of the contained acryloyl groups are provided by the reactive compound (N) and the molar ratio of contained acryloyl groups to contained cyanate groups of compound (D) is 0.30 to 0.95.
Segmented tunnels on articles
Collapsible tunnel systems or segmented tubular structures may be printed on or otherwise attached to base layers on articles of apparel, articles of footwear, or other articles of manufacture. The collapsible tunnel systems have two or more tubular structures attached to the base layer, with tunnels extending through the tubular structures. A tensile strand may be laced through the tunnels in the tubular structure such that when tension is applied to the tensile strand, the tunnels may collapse into a structure with a continuous tunnel through two or more tubular structures. In some embodiments, two or more segmented tubular structures each have two spaced-apart tubular structures joined by a connecting portion, and a tensile strand extending through tunnels in the tubular structures.
AUTOMOTIVE MOLDED-IN-COLOR THERMOPLASTIC POLYOLEFIN WITH CLEAR COATING FOR PAINT REPLACEMENT AND HIGH GLOSS APPLICATIONS
Molded-in-color thermoplastic polyolefin (TPO) compositions useful for making automotive components, such as injection molded parts, as well as other articles of manufacture are described. The molded-in-color composition has a ΔE* value≤2.0 (compared to a painted color master), a gloss measured at 60° from about 76 to about 90 GU, a density ranging from about 0.9 to about 0.97 g/cm.sup.3, a melt mass flow rate from about 15 to about 40 g/10 min (ASTM D 1238, 230° C./2.16 kg), a flexural modulus between about 600 to about 2000 MPa, and an as-molded shrinkage between about 0.6% and about 1.4%. The compositions can be used to prepare molded-in-color components that can undergo additional clear coating steps as required by the automotive application. The clear coated molded-in-color components have a gloss measured at 20° from about 85 to about 95 GU and a gloss retention after mar between about 85% and about 93%.
Powder Composition For Three-Dimensional Printing Containing A Polyoxymethylene Polymer
A polymer composition containing a polyoxymethylene polymer having low shrinkage characteristics and/or an expanded processing window is disclosed. The polymer composition is in the form of a powder containing particles having a controlled particle size and particle size distribution. The powder is formulated so as to be used in a three-dimensional printing system, such as a fused bed process.
Three-Dimensional Printing System Employing A Thermally Conductive Polymer Composition
A three-dimensional printing method is provided. The method comprises selectively forming a three-dimensional structure from a polymer composition. The polymer composition comprises a thermally conductive particulate material distributed within a thermoplastic polymer matrix, and further wherein the polymer composition exhibits a through-plane thermal conductivity of about 0.10 W/m-K or more.
FOAMED INJECTION MOULDED ARTICLE
The invention is directed to a foamed injection moulded article comprising a foam composition obtained by foaming high density polyethylene having a quotient of melt strength and apparent viscosity >2 cN/K.Math.Pa.Math.s wherein the melt strength is determined as described in ISO 16790:2005 and the apparent viscosity is determined as described in ISO 11443:2014.
THREE-DIMENSIONAL PRINTING UTILIZING A CAPTIVE ELEMENT
A method of forming a printed structure is disclosed. The method may include printing layers of a printed structure and incorporating an element within the printed structure. The element may be removed in order to form tunnels within the printed structure. In some embodiments the element may be removed and reused in the formation of additional printed structures. The element may also be retained to form a composite printed structure.
Multilayer dental appliances and related methods and systems
A dental appliance for positioning a patient's teeth includes a removable orthodontic tooth positioning appliance having teeth receiving cavities shaped to directly receive at least some of the patient's teeth and apply a resilient positioning force to the patient's teeth. The appliance includes a hard polymer layer having a hard polymer layer elastic modulus disposed between a first soft polymer layer having a first soft polymer layer elastic modulus and a second soft polymer layer having a second soft polymer layer elastic modulus. The hard polymer layer elastic modulus is greater than each of the first soft polymer layer elastic modulus and the second soft polymer layer elastic modulus. At least one of the first soft polymer layer and the second soft polymer layer has a flexural modulus of greater than about 35,000 psi.
