Glass restoration apparatus and method
A damaged glass surface restoring tool comprises a replaceable, hermetically sealed container of glass fluid restoring substance aligned within a vacuum chamber perpendicularly to the glass surface. A method of restoring a damaged glass surface creates a vacuum in a chamber aligned over a crack in the glass and applying to the crack a glass restoring substance there before unexposed to air in a straight line path of application.
Method for producing transparent or semi-transparent components
A method is disclosed for producing a component formed by two layers (30, 40) of different, transparent or semi-transparent materials, wherein the component is molded in a mold (10) by over-molding two layers. One layer (40) is constituted by a polymer having structural characteristics and being resistant to impact, fracture or chipping, for example PC, and the other layer (30) is constituted by a polymer characterized by high scratch resistance, such as PMMA.
Wind deflector and roller blind panel of an automobile and method for producing a functional element
A method for producing a functional element of an automobile that can be folded and/or wound up, having the steps of providing a fabric that can be folded and/or wound up, arranging the fabric on an application table or in a casting tool in a level arrangement and molding at least one edge strip made of a polyurethane material to the fabric under atmospheric pressure. Furthermore, a wind deflector element of an automobile is provided to a roller blind panel of an automobile, each comprising a fabric that can be folded and/or wound up and that is provided with an edge strip made of a polyurethane material and forming an edge reinforcement.
COMPOSITE GLASS PANE WITH A MOUNTING HOLE
A composite glass pane with a through mounting hole. The composite glass pane having a first pane and a second pane that are bonded to one another via a thermoplastic intermediate layer and at least one passage that extends through the entire composite glass pane, wherein the edge of the passage is provided with a polymeric element formed in one piece having a through hole running through the passage.
Glass-resin laminate and method for producing same
A glass/resin laminate (A) including glass plates laminated on both sides of a polycarbonate layer through bonding layers made of a thermoplastic resin, each of the glass plates having a thickness of from 0.3 to 1 mm and having compressive stresses of at least 3 MPa on an entire surface thereof is provided. The glass/resin laminate (A) is obtainable by a process including a step (1) for disposing a bonding layer on one side of a polycarbonate film having a certain thickness, the bonding layer being made of a thermoplastic resin; a step (2) for stacking a glass plate on the bonding layer to prepare a laminate (B) with the polycarbonate film and the glass plate being laminated through the bonding layer; and a step (3) for preparing another similar laminate (B), placing both laminates (B) in a mold such that both polycarbonate films are confronted each other, and forming a polycarbonate layer between the confronted polycarbonate films.
INTERMEDIATE FILM FOR LAMINATED GLASS, METHOD FOR PRODUCING INTERMEDIATE FILM FOR LAMINATED GLASS, AND LAMINATED GLASS
The present invention aims to provide an interlayer film for a laminated glass which enables production of a laminated glass with suppressed occurrence of optical distortion, a method for producing the interlayer film for a laminated glass, and a laminated glass produced using the interlayer film for a laminated glass. The present invention relates to an interlayer film for a laminated glass produced by an extrusion lip embossing method utilizing melt fracture, the interlayer film for a laminated glass including a laminate that includes two or more resin layers in a stack and having a large number of protrusions and recesses on at least one surface, a maximum height Ry (m) and an average interval Sm (m) of the protrusions and recesses measured in conformity with JIS B 0601 (1994) on the surface with protrusions and recesses satisfying a formula (1):
(RySm)/23,500(1).
Glazing Panel Conditioning
A conditioning agent (typically for use in repairing a flaw in a glazing panel) is contained in a sealed container which is itself disposed internally of a flexible outer walled container. Pressure applied to the outer flexible walled container can cause release of the conditioning agent from the internal conditioning agent container. The conditioning agent preparation may comprise a hygroscopic solvent (such as acetone) combined with one or more primer additives to prime the surface of the glazing panel for repair.
ENCAPSULATED GLASS FRAME ASSEMBLIES AND ASSOCIATED METHODS FOR FORMING SAME
An encapsulated glass assembly includes a glass panel and a plastic frame and a clip. The frame has at least three frame sides and has a lower wall portion extending from an outer wall surface along each of the at least three frame sides. The clip has a C-shaped clip channel and is coupled to a first frame side of the frame such that a portion of the panel is retained within the C-shaped clip channel. An optional clip can be coupled to a second frame side. The plastic frame can alternatively include a C-shaped channel on the second frame side, wherein another portion of the panel is retained within the C-shaped channel. An encapsulant is bonded onto the panel, the frame, and the clip to secure the frame to the panel. The encapsulant has a Shore hardness less than the Shore hardness of the frame.
ENCAPSULATED GLASS FRAME ASSEMBLIES AND ASSOCIATED METHODS FOR FORMING SAME
An encapsulated glass assembly includes a plastic frame having at least three sides and corners, with the frame having a channel extending within its outer frame surface that includes a lower wall portion connected to a side wall portion. The outer frame surface further includes at least one upper wall portion extending from the side wall portion and extending along at least one side of the frame, each one of the at least one upper wall portions further defining a portion of the channel as a C-shaped channel. A glass panel coupled to the frame is retained within the C-shaped channel along at least one side of the frame such that the edge of the panel is adjacent to the side wall portion. An encapsulant having a Shore hardness less than the frame is bonded onto the panel and onto the frame to secure the panel to the frame.
Edge healing and field repair of plasma coating
Described are processes for repairing plastic glazing and for the local application of a plasma coating using a plasma depositing device to an edge created by the removal of excess or unwanted plastic from plastic.
