METHOD FOR FORMING AN ARTICLE COMPRISING A PATHWAY OF PARTICLES WHEREIN A TERMINATION OF THE PATHWAY OF PARTICLES EXPOSED
The invention relates to a method for forming an article comprising a pathway of particles wherein a termination of the pathway of particles is exposed. The method comprises arranging the particles by applying an electric field and/or a magnetic field at an interface between a water soluble or a non-water soluble matrix and a matrix comprising a viscous material and particles. After fixating the viscous material, the termination is exposed by dissolving the water soluble or non-water soluble matrix. The invention also relates to articles obtainable by said method, and to the use of said method in various applications.
INJECTION MOLDING AN ELEMENT ONTO A CABLE
The invention relates to a method for producing a cable, comprising both a molding tool with a cavity and with at least one first opening, and a line, said line consisting of at least one wire and a sheath surrounding the at least one wire. According to the invention, the line is inserted into the cavity and is guided out of the cavity via at least the first opening. A molding compound is injected into the cavity of the molding tool in a pressurized manner, wherein the line is pressed onto a seal surface of the cavity by means of the pressure of the molding compound, and the line closes the cavity at the seal surface.
Method and device for manufacturing rubber coated cord
A method and a device for manufacturing a rubber coated cord, comprising: a rubber coated cord including a preceding cord is manufactured by causing the preceding cord to pass through a preceding head while filling the preceding head with unvulcanized rubber extruded from a rubber extruder, and a rubber coated cord including a next cord is manufactured by setting a leading edge portion of the next cord in a state where the leading edge portion of the next cord has passed through the next head in advance, manufacturing a predetermined length of the rubber coated cord including the preceding cord, and subsequently causing the next cord including a leading edge portion side range bonded to a trailing edge portion of the rubber coated cord including the preceding cord to pass through the next head while switching from the preceding head to the next head.
Automated ultrasonic welding of cable ties
A feedback control system for use with ultrasonic welding. A weld energy set point and/or a reference power curve are used by a controller to provide a power supply voltage set point and a power supply frequency set point for the power that is to be drawn by an ultrasonic weld generator. Information regarding the actual voltage and/or frequency of the drawn electrical power, and/or the frequency and magnitude of an ultrasonic wave transmitted from the generator to an applicator tool used to weld an object can be utilized by an estimator to estimate the weld energy dissipated at the weld site and/or generate a power curve for the welding operation. Using information from the estimator, the controller can determine adjustments for variables for the current and/or future welding operations. Further, welding may not commence until a clamping force exerted on the object satisfies a clamping force set point.
METHOD FOR MANUFACTURING AN ELECTRICAL CONNECTOR FOR A MULTI-WIRE ELECTRICAL CABLE
A method can be applied for manufacturing an electrical connector on an end portion of a multi-wire electrical cable whose wires are surrounded annularly in cross section in the end portion by an outer conductor. The outer conductor is partially radially compressed toward the wires by at least one die, and is also partially provided with an overmold in an injection mold. In the method, after the outer conductor is deformed, the die is positioned on the outer conductor in such a way that the die partially bounds a mold cavity to be filled with a plasticized molding compound to form the overmold. At least one mold part of the injection mold is moved toward the outer conductor and the mold part is positioned in a vicinity of the outer conductor so to further bound the mold cavity.
Coupling Polymeric Components to One Another Utilizing Electromagnetic Energy
A method of coupling polymeric components utilizing electromagnetic energy is disclosed. The method can include obtaining a first component having a first coupling portion, a second component having a second coupling portion, and a susceptor. The method can also include mating the first and second components such that the susceptor is proximate the first and second coupling portions. In addition, the method can include applying electromagnetic energy to the susceptor. The susceptor can convert the electromagnetic energy to heat, which can melt portions of the first and second coupling portions about the susceptor to couple the first and second components to one another upon solidification.
BODYWORK PART WITH INTEGRATED ANTI-PINCHING SYSTEM
A bodywork part for a motor vehicle is provided. The bodywork part includes a main body made from a plastic material and an anti-pinching system. The latter comprises a capacitive sensor comprising at least a first conductive wire integrated into the thickness of the main body by welding, said capacitive sensor being able to detect the presence of an object or a hand of a user in said peripheral zone.
COMPOSITE CABLE
A composite cable includes a sheath surrounding an outer surface of a core at least including a plurality of thick electric wires each having a resin layer on an outer circumference of a conductor, and a plurality of thin electric wires each having a resin layer on an outer circumference of a conductor, in which the sheath includes a resin composition including base resin containing at least one type of ethylene rubber and styrene elastomer at 10 to 50 mass %.
Three-dimensional printing technology
A three-dimensionally printed structure is provided. The three-dimensionally printed structure includes a first layer composed at least in part of a first material; a second layer composed at least in part of the first material, the second layer being positioned over, under, or through the first layer and having an interface with the first layer; and a first internal structure composed at least in part of a second material different from the first material, the first internal structure being situated in both the first layer and the second layer.
