A table has a bottom plate having a bottom plate channel and an outer wall. A bottom plate lip is perpendicular to the outer wall. A top plate has a top plate lip overlying and parallel to the bottom plate lip. A lower end of a frame is in the bottom plate channel and an upper end of the frame is in contact with the top plate. An edge piece clamps the top plate lip and the bottom plate lip together. The edge piece extends entirely around a perimeter of the top plate.

A plastic molded lip structure may extend along a perimeter of a planar element and may include an outer wall, an inner wall, structural portions, and protruded features. The outer wall may extend in a normal direction from the planar element. The inner wall may be disposed in an inward direction relative to the outer wall. The structural portions may be disposed along structural sections of the perimeter and may include first portions of the inner wall and of the outer wall. The first portions may be disposed parallel to the inner wall and separated from the first portions by a first distance along the structural sections. The protruded features may be interposed between two structural portions and an inner wall may be separated from second portions of the outer wall by a second distance that is greater than the first distance.

A structure, such as a tabletop, may be constructed from blow-molded plastic. The tabletop may include an upper surface, a lower surface, and a hollow interior portion disposed between the upper surface and the lower surface. A lip may extend downwardly relative to the lower surface of the tabletop, and the lip including an outer surface and an inner surface. One or more supports may be disposed in the inner surface of the lip, and one or more joints may be disposed in the inner surface of the lip. A joint may be disposed between adjacent supports, and a distal portion of the lip may include a compression edge. A lower portion of the supports may contact the compression edge, and/or a lower portion of the joints may contact the compression edge.

A composite table top including a top plate having an outer and an inner surface, a bottom plate comprising a plurality of projections, each of the plurality of projections having a top defining a top surface. The composite table top has at least a pair of reinforcement inserts disposed at two opposite edges of the bottom plate. The sum of the top surfaces of the plurality of projections is 30%-70% of the upper surface of the bottom plate.

A blow-molded plastic structure, such as a tabletop, may include an undercut. For example, the tabletop may include a frame receiving portion and a frame connecting structure with an undercut may be disposed in the frame receiving portion. A portion of the frame may contact or engage the frame connecting structure, such as the undercut, when the frame is connected to the tabletop. In an exemplary embodiment, a first side of the frame receiving portion may include a first frame connecting portion with an undercut and a second side of the frame receiving portion may include a second frame connecting portion with an undercut. The first frame connecting portion with an undercut may be disposed on an opposing surface from the second frame connecting portion with an undercut.

A blow-molded plastic structure, such as a table top, may include an undercut. For example, the table top may include a frame receiving portion and a frame connecting structure with an undercut may be disposed in the frame receiving portion. A first portion of the frame may contact or engage the frame connecting structure when the frame is connected to the table top. In an exemplary embodiment, a first side of the frame receiving portion may include a first frame connecting portion with an undercut and a second side of the frame receiving portion may include a second frame connecting portion with an undercut. The first frame connecting portion with an undercut may be disposed on an opposing surface from the second frame connecting portion with an undercut.

The present invention relates to the use of a polycarbonate composition comprising an aromatic polycarbonate manufactured by an interfacial process and having a melt volume rate (MVR) of from 1-10 cm.sup.3/10 min (ISO 1133, 300 C., 1.2 kg), from 0.01 wt. % to 0.30 wt. % based on the weight of the polycarbonate composition, of an epoxy additive having at least two epoxy groups per molecule, and from 0.01 wt. % to 0.30 wt. % based on the weight of the polycarbonate composition, of a phenolic diphosphite derived from pentaerythritol, in an injection moulding process for the manufacture of an injection moulded article for reducing the formation of bubbles in said injection moulded article.

The equipment for the production of slabs in mineral grits bound with resins, comprises: a support frame, at least one lower plate, locked together with the frame, comprising at least one positioning zone for at least one mold having at least one forming cavity, open at the top, to contain a mix comprising the materials necessary to obtain the slabs, at least one pressing assembly comprising an upper plate movable, with respect to the frame, from an upper position of loading/unloading the mold in/from the positioning zone, to a lower position of pressing the mix inside said forming cavity, vibrating means associated at least with the lower plate, and an airtight chamber, communicating with suction means, adapted to reduce the pressure to a value lower than the atmospheric pressure, containing the mold, where the chamber is interposed between the lower plate and an upper closing element opposite the lower plate.

A blow-molded structural panel has a stiffening rib structure in which the height and width of the rib structure varies over its length. For example, the rib structure may have three tall portions separated by two short portions, with a gradual slope in height between the various portions. The rib structure is preferably wider in the short portions than it is in the tall portions. The lower height of the rib structure in some portions enhances the stiffness of the panel, while also using less material because the plastic does not have to be drawn so deeply into the mold in the short portions.
