STRAPPING DEVICE WITH AN ULTRASONIC WELDING DEVICE
The invention relates to a strapping device for strapping packaged goods with a strapping band, said strapping device being provided with a connecting device (5) designed as an ultrasonic welding device (9) in order to form a closure. The ultrasonic welding device (9) is provided with a sonotrode device (13) to which ultrasound generated by an ultrasound converter (10) can be transmitted, and the sonotrode device (13) has a contact surface (21, 24) in a provided region which contacts the strapping band. The contact surface is designed to contact a surface of the strapping band, and the sonotrode device (13) is designed to produce ultrasonic vibrations by means of the contact surface. The aim of the invention is to allow a more compact design for such strapping devices. This is achieved in that the contact surface (21, 24) of the sonotrode (11) is aligned at an angle which deviates from a right angle relative to the provided vibration direction of the sonotrode (11).
Method for manufacturing a watertight zipper
A method for manufacturing a watertight zipper includes forming a waterproof tape by extruding a polymeric material in a melted state wrapping around a cloth tape, cutting a side of the waterproof tape that is covered by the thick waterproof layer to form a side surface of the thick waterproof layer as an abutting surface, forming a plurality of apertures in the waterproof tape that extends through the cloth tape and the thick waterproof layer, and forming a plurality of scoops spaced from the thin waterproof layer and corresponding to the apertures. The waterproof tape includes a thick waterproof layer and a thin waterproof layer both formed by the polymeric material. The thick waterproof layer covers an upper surface, a lower surface and an edge of the cloth tape. The thin waterproof layer connects with the thick waterproof layer. An end of each scoop extends beyond the abutting surface.
TECHNIQUES FOR MAKING AND USING HOLDING STRAPS WITH HOOK-AND-STRAP ATTACHMENT
There are provided a holding strap, methods of making the same, and methods using such holding strap for tying down objects on a flatbed of a vehicle, retaining underground tanks, or lifting electrodes out of an electrolytic cell. The holding strap includes a chemically pre-treated strap component, an epoxy resin chemically bonded to the pre-treated strap component, and a hook component comprising a cavity that is configured and sized to receive at least a portion of the strap component, the epoxy resin being chemically bonded to internal surfaces of the cavity, so as to form the holding strap.
HIGH STRENGTH CABLE TIE
A reinforced cable tie generally includes an elongate strap, a head attached to a first end of the strap and a continuous fiber reinforcement disposed in and extending substantially continuously along a path defining at least one of the strap and the head. The head has one or more apertures formed therein and a locking device disposed in the aperture of the head. The locking device is configured to permit a second end of the strap opposite the head to be inserted through the head aperture in a first direction and is further configured to prevent movement of the second end of the strap from the head aperture in a second direction opposite the first direction.
TOUCH FASTENERS AND METHODS OF FORMATION
Aspects disclosed herein relate to forming on a substrate fastener elements suitable for use in touch fastener by employing vibration forming methods. The processes described provide for a greater flexibility in manufacturing than prior methods and overcome certain limitations in prior forming techniques. Further, the product made can embody a variety of different configurations suitable for a given application. Employing vibration forming methods, such ultrasonic forming methods, allows for the use of a wider variety of substrate material than materials used with convention methods of touch fastener formation.
Method of manufacturing a strap for a wearable device
A method of manufacturing a wearable device comprising a printed circuit board (PCB) on which is mounted electronic components, the method includes providing a mould attaching the PCB to a cage, the cage comprising a cage body and at least one hole, inserting said PCB into the mould; arresting the PCB relative to the mould by inserting an insert tool into the mould and attaching the insert tool to said at least one hole, injecting a wet applied structural component into said mould and removing said mould.

Heat Resistant Toughened Themoplastic Composition for Injection Molding
Injection molded parts with a small dimension that exhibit high heat resistance are described. Thermoplastic compositions that can be utilized to form the injection molded parts are described. The thermoplastic composition includes a polyarylene sulfide and a crosslinked impact modifier. The thermoplastic composition can also include siloxane polymers, thermoplastic elastomers, or other additives that can further improve the characteristics of the injection molded parts.
SELF-RELEASING TIE
A method of making a tie strip from as stretch-orientable thermoplastic comprising a series of joined unit cells, wherein the moulding material is injected into the mould at multiple gating points along the strip to introduce flow discontinuities thereby to localise regions for stretch orientation.
Embossed Plastic Strap and Method of Manufacture
Various embodiments of the present disclosure provide a plastic strap and a method of forming a plastic strap. The plastic strap includes a first side extending across a width of the strap, a second side opposite the first side and extending across the width of the strap, and a thickness extending between the first and second sides. The first side is embossed and includes a base surface and a raised pattern extending from the base surface. The raised pattern defines multiple cells. A first one of the cells is defined by a first perimeter component of the raised pattern and a first geometric component positioned within the first perimeter component so part of the base surface extends between the first perimeter component and the first geometric component.
