Peritoneal Dialysis Systems, Devices, and Methods
An automated peritoneal dialysis system provides various features including prescription-driven dialysis fluid preparation, an integrated disposable fluid circuit, and sensor capabilities that allow accurate filing and draining control with high safety margins. Features include a peritoneal fluid circuit with a pressure sensor at either end and methods and devices for using the pressure signals. Other features and embodiments are disclosed.
User Interface Monitoring and Verification Thereof in Medical Treatment Systems
A medical treatment system is configured to output a predefined test pattern and to receive the signal by way of a microphone in order to test the volume and quality of the audio output in order to ensure the output audio signals effective to wake a sleeping patient. The failure of a processor to confirm the volume and fidelity of the audio output as well as the timeliness of the test pattern causes the processor to deny the resumption of a treatment and to generate an error signal.
Apparatus, system and method for fluid delivery
A fill adapter system for an infusion pump assembly. The system includes a reusable fill adapter base, the base including a volume control mechanism to adjust an available fill volume of a reservoir of the infusion pump assembly and a pump mechanism configured to pump air into a fluid vial. The system also includes a vial adapter assembly including a first needle configured to penetrate a septum of the fluid vial for fluidly coupling the pump mechanism to the fluid vial and a second needle having a first end configured to penetrate the septum of the fluid vial and a second end configured to penetrate a septum of the reservoir of the infusion pump assembly to allow transfer of fluid from the fluid vial to the reservoir of the infusion pump assembly in response to air being pumped into the fluid vial and a needle carriage adapted to carry the first needle and the second needle, wherein the needle carriage slidably attached to the interior of the vial adapter assembly, wherein the needle carriage adapted to slide from a vial end of the vial adapter to a receptacle end of the vial adapter.
Liquid treatment dispenser
A cartridge acting as a dispenser for liquid treatments of a human or animal body is U shaped or hoop shape. The cartridge has a container containing a liquid treatment which when required to be dispensed is ejected through one or more nozzles projecting through the wall of the cartridge into the centre of the U or of the hoop. A base is provided for cartridges, the base controlling timing and quantity of treatments.
System and method for a closed loop control in an artificial pancreas
The present invention provides a closed loop control method in an artificial pancreas and a system using the method, comprising sensing an activity level of a patient by at least one motion sensor and providing signals to at least one processer; then adjusting a series of related algorithms depending partly on the signals by the processer to provide more accurate and reliable data that is the basis of desirable treatment plans, and sending corresponding instructions by the processer for automatic operations of the artificial pancreas to realize a closed loop control.
AEROSOL GENERATING DEVICE
An aerosol generating device includes: an accommodation portion configured to accommodate an aerosol generating article through an opening; and a deformation guiding portion that comes into contact with one end of the aerosol generating article when the aerosol generating article is inserted into an accommodation portion. The deformation guiding portion deforms the one end of the aerosol generating article when the aerosol generating article is inserted for the first time into the accommodation portion such that the aerosol generating device detects whether an aerosol generating article is being reused based on whether its end is deformed or not.
FLOW THERAPY SYSTEM AND METHOD
A method of determining a duration of safe apnoea. Information is obtained relating to a respiratory indicator, which can include information relating to a potential respiratory equilibrium, and a duration of safe apnoea is determined from the obtained information.
SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR DETECTING A FAULTY OCCLUDER VALVE
An occluder detection system is disclosed. At least one occluder element moves according to a cam motion to apply a periodic compression to a flexible infusion line. A portion of the occluder element is configured to emit or modify an energy or magnetic field. A sensor is configured to measure the energy being emitted or modified by the section of the occluder element. A processor causes the at least one occluder element to move according to the cam motion to move a fluid within the flexible infusion line by periodically compressing the flexible infusion line, measures the energy of the energy source via the sensor, obtains a current cam state associated with the cam motion at a time corresponding to the measured energy, and determines, based on the measured energy and the current cam state, a state of the occluder element. The processor may issue an alarm on a fault condition.
HEMODIALYSIS SYSTEM INCLUDING CONTINUOUS GLUCOSE MONITORING
Systems and method for monitoring the blood glucose concentration of a patient during a hemodialysis session and automated administration of a medication in response to the glucose concentration falling outside a specified range. The system includes a hemodialysis system and a glucose sensor. The hemodialysis system includes a control system, at least one medication infusion pump, and a dialyzer fluidly connectable to a venous patient line and an arterial patient line. The glucose sensor is in communication with the control system and positioned to continuously measure the blood glucose concentration of the patient during the hemodialysis session. The control system can be programmed to provide automated administration of medication by the at least one medication infusion pump in response to changes in the blood glucose concentration of the patent during the hemodialysis session.
AUTOMATED BODY FLUID DRAIN CONTROL APPARATUS WITH ONE OR MORE CAMERAS
Cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) drainage systems. A system includes a conduit having a proximal end and a distal end. The conduit receives the CSF from a patient from the proximal end. The system includes a collection chamber coupled to the distal end. The collection chamber collects the CSF. The system includes a valve positioned on the conduit. The valve controls CSF flow into the collection chamber. The system includes a camera that captures an image of the CSF within the collection chamber. The system includes a processor coupled to the camera. The processor measures a flow rate of the CSF based on the image and controls the first valve to open for a first predetermined period and close for a second predetermined period until a determination of a predetermined amount of the CSF being drained from the patient is made by the processor based on the flow rate.
