In one aspect the present disclosure refers to a supplementary device for a manually operable injection device, the supplementary device comprising: a body attachable to an elongated housing of the injection device, at least one connector connected to the body and connectable to the housing, wherein the body is attachable to the housing via the at least one connector, a sensor arrangement coupled to at least one of the body and the at least one connector and configured to measure a longitudinal force component acting between the at least one connector and the body in a direction parallel to the elongation of the housing.
Devices, systems and methods for locating and interacting with medicament delivery systems
In some embodiments, a method includes establishing a communications link between a computing device and an adapter. The adapter is configured to receive at least a portion of a medicament delivery device. A wireless signal is received to maintain the communications link. A relative position between the computing device and the adapter is determined. An alarm is produced when the wireless signal is not received within a time period. The alarm is based on the relative position between the computing device and the adapter.
DEVICE WITH FLOW RATE INDICATOR
The present invention provides a patient inhalation/exhalation device such as a spirometer, respiratory inhaler or spacer, the device comprising: at least one aperture for inlet or outlet of air into/from the device; a mouthpiece for communication with the mouth of the patient; and a body defining an air flow path extending between the aperture and the mouthpiece along which air is drawn to the mouthpiece by inhalation by the patient or air is forced towards the aperture by exhalation by the patient. The body comprises an air flow rate indicator operable to generate a sound signal to indicate when the air flow rate along the air flow path is at or above a predetermined minimum level. In another aspect, the present invention provides a device for indicating a desired fluid flow rate along a fluid flow path through a respiratory inhaler. The device comprises an inlet aperture, an outlet aperture for fluid communication with the fluid flow path through the respiratory inhaler, and a body defining a second fluid flow path extending between the inlet aperture and the outlet aperture. The body comprises a connector portion for connection to the respiratory inhaler and a fluid flow rate indicator operable to generate a sound signal to indicate when the fluid flow rate along the second fluid flow path is at a predetermined fluid flow rate. The air flow rate indicators comprise a corrugated portion having at least one or a plurality of corrugations extending into their fluid flow paths.
MEDICAL INJECTOR WITH COMPLIANCE TRACKING AND MONITORING
A system includes a medicament delivery device and a container configured to receive at least a portion of the medicament delivery device. The medicament delivery device includes an actuator and a first electronic circuit system. The actuator is configured to initiate delivery of a medicament into a body when the actuator is moved from a first position to a second position. The first electronic circuit system is configured to output a first electronic signal when the actuator is moved from the first position to the second position. The container includes a second electronic circuit system configured to receive the first electronic signal. The second electronic circuit system is configured to output a second electronic signal associated with the first electronic signal.
Medicament delivery device configured to produce wireless and audible outputs
An apparatus includes a simulated medicament delivery device and an electronic circuit system. The simulated medicament delivery device includes a housing, and is devoid of a medicament delivery mechanism that causes a medicament to be delivered. The electronic circuit system is coupled to the housing and includes an audible output device and a cover. The housing of the medicament delivery device and the cover of the electronic circuit system collectively define an acoustic enclosure. The audible output device is configured to be disposed within the acoustic enclosure.
Flow regulating inhaler device
Some embodiments of the invention relate to an inhaler device for pulmonary delivery of at least one substance from a drug dose cartridge to an inhaling user, comprising: a first conduit for conducting a carrier airflow to a proximal opening of a mouthpiece for use by the user; a holder configured to position the dose cartridge within the carrier airflow; and a second conduit for conducting a shunting airflow to the mouthpiece without passing through the dose cartridge position. In some embodiments, a controller connected to a valve controls a rate of carrier airflow, for example by controlling the shunting airflow, based on a sensor indication of airflow rate and a target airflow profile.
Method for driving nebulizer and circuit system
A method and a circuit system for driving a nebulizer are provided. When the nebulizer receives acoustic waves, a control circuit extracts audio signals from the acoustic waves. Afterwards, the control circuit determines if the audio signals are within a predetermined frequency range, and can determine whether or not to drive a circuit to produce an aerosol based on the audio signals. Further, a volume of the acoustic waves can also be used to determine whether or not to produce the aerosol, and also determine an output rate of the aerosol. The circuit system of the nebulizer includes an audio receiver for receiving the acoustic waves, an aerosol generator for producing the aerosol, and the control circuit used to control a driving circuit of the aerosol generator to drive a vibrational element to produce the aerosol through vibration in response to the audio signals and the volume.
SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR COLLECTING INJECTION INFORMATION
A system for measuring injection of a liquid medicine includes a syringe body having proximal and distal ends, a syringe interior, and a syringe flange at the proximal end thereof. The system also includes a stopper member disposed in the syringe interior. The system further includes a plunger member coupled to the stopper member and configured to be manipulated to insert the stopper member distally in the syringe interior relative to the syringe body. Moreover, the system includes a needle coupled to the syringe body at the distal end thereof. In addition, the system includes a sensor flange removably coupled to a syringe body. The sensor flange includes a sensor to measure an injection characteristic and a processor to analyze the injection characteristic to determine an occurrence of an injection event.
DRY POWDER INHALATION DEVICE
Delivery of a dry powder via inhalation can be performed using an inhalation device having an inhalation tube and a hollow extension housing an assembly of components including a plurality of impellers, a puncturing device, and a dry powder container. The delivery of dry powder through the inhalation device is facilitated by the puncturing device puncturing the dry powder container, the impellers directing air flow, and the configuration of the extension and inhalation tube.
