Safety Needle Device
A safety needle device is disclosed having a housing configured to couple to a syringe, the housing having a proximal end, a distal end, and a housing body. A first guide path, a second guide path and a third guide path may be disposed on the housing body. A needle hub is disposed on the proximal end of the housing and a needle cannula is attached to the needle hub. The device having a retractable sheath configured to move between an initial position, a retracted position and an extended position with respect to the housing, wherein the initial position partially exposes a distal tip of the needle cannula, the retracted position fully exposes the needle cannula, and the extended position fully covers the distal tip of the needle cannula. The retractable sheath also may have a guide element. The first, second and third guide paths are configured to slidingly receive the guide element. The device also having a first locking member, a second locking member, a rotating cam disposed in the housing body, and a spring element to bias the retractable sheath to an extended state to cover the distal end of the needle cannula upon completion of an injection.
SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR DETECTING PATIENT STATE IN A MEDICAL IMAGING SESSION
Methods and systems are provided for detecting patient motion during a diagnostic scan. In one example, a method for a medical imaging system includes obtaining output from one or more patient monitoring devices configured to monitor a patient before and during a diagnostic scan executed with the medical imaging system, receiving a request to initiate the diagnostic scan, tracking patient motion based on the output from the one or more patient monitoring devices, and initiating the diagnostic scan responsive to patient motion being below a threshold level.
Negative pressure injection device
A negative pressure injection device which includes a suction cup and an inner skirt that encircles an injection port and depends into the interior of the suction cup. An injection member is surrounded by and protrudes below the inner skirt. When air is drawn from the suction cup an epidermis of a patient is drawn into the suction cup until the epidermis comes into contact with the inner skirt and that portion of the injection member protruding below the inner skirt. The inner skirt provides consistent epidermis positioning. The depth of injection is consistently defined by the extent to which the injection member protrudes below the inner skirt.
Automatic-locking safety needle covers and methods of use and manufacture
A single-use needle cover configured to obscure, protect, or hide at least a portion of a needle from view before, during, and/or after an injection and/or aspiration procedure is disclosed. In some embodiments, the cover includes a housing at least partially containing the needle and configured to couple to a syringe, wherein the housing includes an axis and a guide member. In some embodiments, a sleeve has a plurality of tracks configured to slidingly receive the guide member, wherein the sleeve is configured to retract, extend, and rotate with respect to the housing. In some embodiments, after the sleeve has been retracted and extended one time, a first locking member inhibits further retraction of the sleeve and a second locking member inhibits rotation of the sleeve.
AEROSOL PROVISION SYSTEM AND METHOD
An aerosol provision system includes one or more receptacles each forming a respective central space, a base adapted to support the or each receptacle, the or each receptacle being removable from the base and at least a first airflow generator, operable to draw air through at least a first aerosol generator, wherein the base includes one or more outlets through which, in operation, aerosolized payload is directed to flow from the base into the central space of a respective receptacle and the or each receptacle comprises a first opening through which the user can inhale the aerosolized payload.
Mask for administration of inhaled medication
A breathing mask for use in administering inhalable medications to a patient in need of an inhaled drug is provided. The mask disclosed herein is particularly useful for use with very young children. The mask is made from a flexible molded plastic silicone or elastomeric material, and has an anthropometrically/anatoinically/ergonomically contoured shape to provide a good seal, a comfortable fit, and minimal dead space within the mask. The airway is aligned with nose. There may be an orifice for use with a soother device to calm a child using the mask. Also provided is a visual flow indicator to provide an indication of the quality of the seal of the mask on the face.
Therapy Device and Method of Use
The therapy device disclosed is structured and configured to be a wearable device self-controlled, remote controlled by a caregiver, and/or integrated with a downloadable application (app) from a mobile device to assist a caregiver with modifying and enforcing behaviors as aligned with olfactory sensation and personalized limbic system functionality. The device and system may also be configured and combined with another therapeutic device or medical monitoring system such that the therapy device disclosed herein is aligned to initiate when a target or monitored condition reaches a threshold value. Such configurations would allow the device to function automatically and in combination with data analytics.
WEARABLE FIDGET SPINNERS
Wearable devices that provide tactile, visual stimulation, and movement/manipulation for a user are described. The devices can include a spinner that rotates with respect to a base. The spinner can be spun by the user to produce visual stimulation that the user may find pleasing and soothing, and which may provide therapeutic effects. The spinner may also include tactile features, such as a series of protrusions and recesses, that the user can touch or rub to create a tactile sensation, which may also help the user to relieve and/or regulate stress. The spinner also allows the user to manipulate the spinner with fingers in small repetitive movements that may reduce restlessness. The devices may be sized and shaped such that the user may uninterruptedly perform everyday tasks and discretely wear and use the devices in certain social environments such as the classroom.
Methods for Creating and Implementing a Personalized Site Rotation Plan
A kit to facilitate creation of and compliance with a personalized injection site rotation plan includes a plurality of disposable injection devices adapted for giving an injection of a medication to a patient in need thereof, each disposable injection device having a permanent, distinctive mark that may be the same as or different from the distinctive mark on other disposable injection devices in the kit; and a plurality of user-defined association tools, wherein for each unique distinctive mark on a disposable injection device, at least one user-defined association tool has a distinctive mark that corresponds to the unique distinctive mark.
