Toolholder (10) for a press (100), in particular for an assembly press (100) having: an axis (A 11), an actuation member (14), and retaining elements (17a, 17b, 17c, 17d) arranged to retain a tool (20),
the toolholder being configured and/or arranged so that the retaining elements (17a, 17b, 17c, 17d) are movable from an activated position to a deactivated position by virtue of a movement in a first direction of the actuation member (14), in particular by an elementary movement in the first direction of the actuation member (14).

Die for a press and method for producing a green body by means of a press

The invention relates to a die for arrangement in a press, wherein the die extends along an axial direction between two end faces and forms an inner peripheral surface between the end faces, wherein the die extends from the inner peripheral surface along a radial direction toward an outer peripheral surface and toward at least one centering surface that is disposed in the radial direction on a first diameter, wherein the die has a pressing zone that is spaced apart from the end faces and, in the vicinity of the pressing zone, the die has a greater maximum first stiffness, at least relative to zones of the die that are arranged on the end faces, compared to a pressing force acting on the inner peripheral surface in a direction of a normal vector, and wherein the maximum first stiffness is at least 10% greater than a minimum second stiffness that is present in at least one zone that is arranged on one of the end faces.

Press ram fastening system

A press for waste has an actuator (42) that moves a ram (40) in a chamber (30). The actuator and the ram are connected by a fastening system (100). The fastening system allows the ram to be displaced in a direction perpendicular to the length and direction of travel of the actuator. In this way, as inner surfaces of the chamber wear the ram may adjust to the worn surfaces without applying large forces perpendicular to the length of the actuator. When the actuator moves forward, it pushes directly against the back of the ram. When the actuator moves backwards, it pulls a pin (102) that pushes on an inner surface (108) of the ram.

Toolpack for vertical bodymaker

A toolpack for a can bodymaker with a vertically oriented, reciprocating, elongated ram assembly is provided. The toolpack includes a tool pack housing assembly, a number of die spacers, a number of dies, and a compression device. The tool pack housing assembly defines a passage and includes an inner surface, an upper sidewall, a lower sidewall, a first lateral sidewall, a second lateral sidewall, a rear sidewall, and a door. The tool pack housing assembly passage extends generally vertically. Each die spacer structured to support a die and defining a central passage. Each die including a body defining a central passage. The die spacers and dies are disposed in said tool pack housing assembly. The compression device is disposed at said tool pack housing assembly lower sidewall and is structured to axially bias said number of die spacers.

In a press machine having a die cushion device which supports a cushion pad and which generates a die cushion force when a slide of the press machine is lowered, the wrinkle generation detection device includes: a slide position detector which detects a height position of the slide; a cushion pad position detector which detects a height position of the cushion pad; and a computing unit which consecutively calculates a deviation between the height position of the slide detected by the slide position detector and the height position of the cushion pad detected by the cushion pad position detector, during a time period from the start of forming of a material by the slide lowering to the end of the forming, wherein a wrinkle generated in the material is detected based on an increase of the deviation consecutively calculated by the computing unit.

Rework press assembly for component rework systems and methods of using the same

A rework press assembly for reworking a dimensionally non-conformant component is provided. The rework press assembly includes a frame, a die coupled to the frame and configured to contact a first portion of the component, and a ram. The ram is coupled to the frame opposite the die with respect to an axis of the rework press assembly and is configured to contact a second portion of the component. The ram and the die define a component cavity therebetween. At least one of the die and the ram has a first length, relative to the axis, in response to the rework press assembly being at a first thermal condition. The at least one of the die and the ram has a second length, relative to the axis, in response to the rework press assembly being at a second thermal condition, and the second length is greater than the first length.
