A mechanical press, with at least one drive shaft having a driver that is eccentric with respect to a shaft axis, and a sliding block. The sliding block is driven by the driver to perform a forcibly guided movement. During an execution of a pressure stroke, the sliding block is guided on at least one sliding surface on the pressure-input side opposite to a pressure-input-side surface of a slide guide. The sliding block has a sliding surface on the pressure-output side lying opposite to the pressure-input side surface, this surface being guided on a pressure-output-side surface of the slide guide, wherein the sliding surface on the pressure-input side of the sliding block has a concave or convex curvature. The sliding surface on the pressure-output side of the sliding block has the opposite concave or convex curvature, respectively.

A compacting apparatus (1) for compacting receptacles has a compacting unit (3) with at least one first advancing device (4) for transporting at least one receptacle (G) in an insertion direction (E). The compacting unit (3) is configured to compact the receptacle (G) while the receptacle (G) is transported in the insertion direction (E). A post-compacting unit (5) is downstream of the compacting unit (3) in the insertion direction (E) and has at least one second advancing device (6) for transporting the at least one receptacle (G) through the post-compacting unit (5). The post-compacting unit (5) is configured to compact the at least one receptacle (G) further. Positions of the at least one first advancing device (4) of the compacting unit (3) and the at least one second advancing device (6) of the post-compacting unit (5) are changeable with respect to one another in the insertion direction (E).
DIE ASSEMBLY FOR A STAMPING PRESS
A die assembly for use in a stamping press is provided. The die assembly includes a first die plate, a first curved die stiffener, and a first die shoe. The first die plate may be configured to form at least a portion of material into a desired configuration. The first curved die stiffener may be affixed to the first die plate on a first curved side of the first curved die stiffener. The first die shoe may be affixed to a second side of the first curved die stiffener. The first die shoe may be operatively configured to be mounted on a first press base.

Methods for forming improved bales may include using baling equipment with multi-component bolster assemblies that may ease installation and removal, reduce wear and tear and maintenance, and/or improve efficiency by reducing material waste, imperfections, and/or contamination. The bolster assemblies may include a plurality of coupling portions that engage a hydraulic rod and may enable the bolster assembly to self-center within a press chamber during normal baling operations. The bolster assemblies also may include an island portion that may be attached to the coupling portions and to a bolster cap, and the latter may be attached using retainer bolts having substantially planar heads that may define lips that run about frustums. The bolts may substantially planar head may reduce irregularities in the bale and the lips may prevent material seepage into the bolster assemblies.

The baler has a hydraulic control device, by means of which the hydraulic cylinders of each pair of cylinders can each be controlled either selectively individually or jointly, depending on the press pressure. A radial press is provided having a first and a second ring structure extending about a press axis.
