Robust motion sickness reduction device
A device for motion sickness reduction. The device operates by providing haptic feedback using transducers that convert electrical signals to a tactile sensation such as pressure, vibration, electrical stimulation, temperature, or airflow. The transducers are located at different locations on the body of a user, and actively change their operation to indicate a direction of motion or rotation to the user through haptic (tactile) feedback. This tactile feedback can be used to reduce motion sickness. In an embodiment, the feedback is improved by deducting motion associated with the user's visual frame of reference from motion associated with the user's vestibular frame of reference.
SLEEPER DETECTION AND CONFIGURATION OF SLEEP ENVIRONMENTS AND LEARNING METHODS TO OPTIMIZE SLEEP QUALITY
A bed includes environmental control components, which may be temperature control components and pressure adjustment components in some embodiments. The environmental control components may be configured to provide different sleep environments based on identity of sleepers using or expected to use the bed. A controller may determine a number of sleepers for the bed, identify the sleepers, and determine if there is an expectation of later arrival of sleeper in determining a configuration for the environmental control components in providing a sleep environment for the bed.
Blood purification system and solution-preparation-determining apparatus
A system and a solution-preparation-determining apparatus which determines whether additional preparation of an undiluted dialysate solution is necessary. A blood purification system includes a solution-preparing unit that prepares an undiluted dialysate solution, a dialysate-supplying unit that prepares a working dialysate at a predetermined concentration by diluting the undiluted dialysate solution received from the solution-preparing unit, a blood-purification-treatment section that includes a blood-purification-apparatus group including at least one blood purification apparatus that performs blood purification treatment in which the working dialysate is supplied to the blood-purification-apparatus group, and a determining unit that determines whether additional preparation of the undiluted dialysate solution is necessary from a result of comparison between an estimated number of treatment sessions expected to be performed by the blood-purification-apparatus group throughout a predetermined period and an actual number of treatment sessions performed by the blood-purification-apparatus group as of a time point during the predetermined period.
Process and device for ventilating a patient
A process for ventilating a patient as well as a devicepatient module (20)operating according to the process, wherein, for example, a body weight value concerning an estimated body weight of the patient is transmitted to a patient module (20) intended for ventilating the patient, wherein the patient module (20) automatically selects ventilation parameters (52) fitting the body weight value on the basis of the body weight value and wherein the ventilation of the patient is carried out with the selected ventilation parameters (52).
System and method for electronic identification of remote peritoneal dialysis exchanges
A system is provided for operation with a facility providing peritoneal dialysis exchanges for multiple peritoneal dialysis patients. The system can include a peritoneal dialysis solution supply, peritoneal dialysis sets to deliver peritoneal dialysis solution to the peritoneal dialysis patients at the facility, a computer, and a treatment station. The computer can electronically read a prescription for a patient, electronically identify a quantity of the peritoneal dialysis solution from the prescription, and electronically identify a peritoneal dialysis set from the peritoneal dialysis sets for use with the identified quantity of the peritoneal dialysis solution. The treatment station can allow an identified peritoneal dialysis set to be fluidly connected to the peritoneal dialysis solution supply so that the identified quantity of the peritoneal dialysis solution may be metered from the dialysis solution supply to the patient to perform a peritoneal dialysis treatment at the facility and according to the prescription.
System and method to train system to alleviate pain
A method, system and computer-usable medium for training an information processing system to utilize personalized audio selection to facilitate achieving a target state comprising: identifying target states for a plurality of users; identifying a type of user for each of the plurality of users; identifying a plurality of sets of audio selections for each of the plurality of users; monitoring reactions by each of the plurality of users to each of the plurality of sets of audio selections; and, associating a set of audio selections from the plurality of sets of audio selections with a type of a user based upon the reactions by the plurality of users to the set of audio selections.
BOWL ASSEMBLY FOR A VAPOR SMOKING DEVICE
A vaporizing device is provided for a vapor smoking device, includes a removable cartridge defining an internal cavity, and is configured to be disposed on the vapor smoking device. A plurality of porous granules is disposed within the internal cavity. The porous granules have a vaporizing liquid absorbed therein.
System and method for remote peritoneal dialysis exchanges
A system and method is provided to allow multiple patients to receive peritoneal dialysis treatment at a walk-in facility without having to keep fresh dialysis solution on hand themselves. The walk-in facility is enabled to receive a peritoneal dialysis prescription from a patient, verify the prescription, determine the appropriate treatment for the patient, provide the patient with the appropriate dialysis solution in the appropriate amount, and enable the patient to undergo a dialysis treatment at the facility. The walk-in facility can also be enabled to monitor the patient's home dialysis treatment and to adjust the patient's treatment at the facility accordingly. The facility can be enabled to produce dialysis solution on demand by manufacturing the solution from solution components according to a patient's prescription. Moreover, the facility can use a sorbent system to regenerate effluent dialysis solution into fresh dialysis solution.
Gas generator for health use having security system
The present invention provides a gas generator for health use having a security system, comprising: an electrolysis tank for containing electrolyzed water, wherein the electrolysis tank further comprises a power supply for electrolyzing the electrolyzed water to generating a gas mixture including hydrogen and oxygen; and a water bucket, coupled to the electrolysis tank. The security system comprises a sensor, electrically connected to the power supply, used to control the switch of the power supply, wherein the sensor is selected from a group consisting of a water level sensor configured in the water bucket, a gas leakage sensor configured in the gas generator for health use, a temperature sensor configured in the water bucket, a temperature sensor configured in the electrolysis tank, a temperature sensor configured in the power supply, and a combination thereof.
