Thermoplastic bags with duplicative seals

A thermoplastic bag includes duplicative seals. In particular, in one or more implementations, a thermoplastic bag includes a first seal and at least a second seal reinforcing the same area of the thermoplastic bag. For instance, in one or more implementations, the thermoplastic bag includes multiple seals along each side edge or along the hem. If one seal fails, the other seal(s) can remain in place to prevent leaks. Thus, the duplicative seals of the thermoplastic bag can provide reinforced strength and desired aesthetics.

The present disclosure relates to strata 2-ply drawstring trash bags implementing a J-flap extended hem to provide increased top-of-bag strength. In one or more embodiments, the J-flap extended hem includes a 2-ply web folded back on itself (e.g., during a hem folding operation to enclose the drawstring within a hem channel). In one or more implementations, a hem seal secures the 2-ply web to an inside surface of the trash bag. At least one ply of the 2-ply web fold-over extends past the hem seal and is additionally secured to the inside surface of the trash bag via one or more hem skirt seals. For reduced material consumption in certain embodiments, the J-flap extended hem of the present disclosure imparts added strength using only one ply of the 2-ply web fold-over. In some embodiments, at least one ply of the 2-ply web fold-over includes ring-rolled portions to add top-of-bag strength.

Machine and method for manufacturing plastic pouches

The machine and the method disclosed use a panel plastic film that is longitudinally folded into top and bottom halves before slitting along the fold. The halves are simultaneously transported ensuring print registration and requiring a single accumulator in the longitudinal direction. Side gusset pieces are inserted between the top and bottom halves through an initial gap enlarged by a pair of timing belts. The top and bottom halves partly sealed with the side gusset pieces are pulled away from each other and a means gives the ends of the side gusset pieces the shape of a rhomboid. Bottom gusset film is vertically sealed along the vertical axis of the rhomboid shaped ends of the side gusset pieces with the seal extending to the folded portions of the top and bottom halves. Longitudinal sealing and transverse sealing before cutting ensure sealing of the bottom gusset and side gussets.

INSULATION PRODUCTS AND METHODS AND MACHINES FOR MAKING INSULATION PRODUCTS

The presently disclosed subject matter generally relates to recyclable insulation material for shipping containers, groceries bags, etc., machines for making the recyclable insulation material, and methods for the making the recyclable insulation material. In one aspect, a method of forming an insulation product may include forming a continuous sheet of paper into a plurality of flexible loops defining a plurality of air channels extending in a direction that is substantially perpendicular with a machine direction of the continuous sheet of paper. The method may also include immediately attaching a first layer of paper and a second layer of paper to the plurality of flexible loops as they are formed so that the continuous sheet of paper retains the plurality of flexible loops between the first layer and the second layer and that the plurality of flexible loops remain unattached with respect to one another.

Thermoplastic bags with phased deformation patterns

Thermoplastic bags with phased deformation patterns are described. In particular, one or more implementations comprise thermoplastic bags with ring rolling, SELFing, or other deformation patterns phased or aligned relative to the sides of the bags. The phased deformation patterns can allow for reducing or eliminating deformation patterns in areas of the thermoplastic bag in which side seals or other seals are formed. Additionally or alternatively, the phased deformation patterns can provide for zones that provide differing properties (e.g., functional or aesthetic). Such zones can vary aligned along a width of the thermoplastic bag and optionally also vary along a height of the thermoplastic bag. The differing zones can provide the thermoplastic bags with phased deformations that provide leak prevention, liquid containment, and other benefits.

RESEALABLE PACKAGE, METHOD FOR PRODUCING THE RESEALABLE PACKAGE AND APPARATUS FOR PRODUCING THE RESEALABLE PACKAGE

The invention relates to a resealable package (1, 1, 1), comprising a package body (2) having a first side wall (4), a second side wall (6) opposite the first side wall (4), an openable top end (8) and a closed bottom end (10), wherein a portion (12) of the first side wall (4) protrudes beyond the second side wall (6) at the top end (8) in a direction from the bottom end (10) to the top end (8), and a closure element (18) which is releasably adhered to an inner surface (14) of the portion (12) of the first side wall (4) which protrudes beyond the second side wall (6) and the second side wall (6) so as to close the top end (8). Upon removal of the closure element (18) from the package body (2), a resealable adhesive arrangement (20, 22; 23; 25) is exposed so as to allow the inner surface (14) of the portion (12) of the first side wall (4) which protrudes beyond the second side wall (6) and an outer surface (16) of the second side wall (6) to be resealably adhered to one another in a position to close the top end (8). Further, the invention relates to a method and an apparatus (100) for producing the resealable package (1, 1, 1).
