20200105393 · 2020-04-02 ·

Provided is a syringe reader includes a receiver comprising a releasable fastener component that cooperates with a compatible portion of the syringe to releasably couple the syringe to the syringe receiver, and maintain cooperation between the syringe and the syringe receiver during administration of the drug. A sensor is arranged adjacent to an outlet of the syringe to sense a quantity of the drug expelled from the drug container in response to exertion of a biasing force on a plunger of the syringe, and transmit a signal indicative of the sensed quantity of the drug. A barcode reader is arranged to read a barcode applied to a barrel region of the syringe installed on the syringe reader by the receiver. The barcode reader includes an optics system that emits an optical signal to interrogate the barcode.

Configurable Fluid Channel Sealing Devices and Methods

Fluid channel sealing devices, frangible seals, fluid circuits, associated controllers and methods of using the same are provided for controlling fluid distribution using a reconfigurable blocking element having first and second portions to establish a first configuration free of any open channels such that fluid is prevented from flowing through the channel and a second configuration where the first and second portions are separated to establish an open channel and allow fluid to pass.

Drug-releasing catheter extender-lengthener and catheter extension tube

In an embodiment, there is provided a catheter extender-lengthener comprising end connectors and tubing that comprises a polymer and a substance such as an antibiotic that is safe for exposure to bodily fluids. The catheter extender-lengthener is suitable to connect to a catheter extension set. Antibiotic can be eluted to fluid on both sides of a clamp and can diffuse toward the patient's body. Similar tubing can be used in a catheter extension set and optionally in a cap. The catheter extender-lengthener can be added on to existing catheter assemblies. Drugs can be combined at high concentration with polymer, and the device can elute effective amounts of minocycline and rifampin for more than a month. Use of the devices can provide adjustable antibiotic or dose and can be adjusted in response to a patient's condition. This can lessen the possibility of Catheter Related Blood Stream Infection.

A DEVICE FOR ATTACHMENT TO AN INJECTION DEVICE
20200078519 · 2020-03-12 ·

A supplementary device configured to be releasably attached to a drug delivery device. The supplementary device comprises a housing having a channel configured to slidably receive the drug delivery device; a first alignment feature to ensure a specific alignment of the supplementary device relative to the drug delivery device and restrict rotational movement of the supplementary device around a drug delivery device; and a second alignment feature to prevent sliding movement of the supplementary device relative to the delivery device once attached thereto. The second alignment feature comprises a moveable securing member biased towards the drug delivery device, and a release member operable to move the securing member out of engagement with the drug delivery device.

System and method for drying a hose of a CPAP machine

The present invention relates to a guider for separating a tube, and more particularly, to a guider for easily separating a tube and a catheter which are coupled to each other. The guider for separating a tube according to an exemplary embodiment of the present invention may include: a cylindrical body portion which includes a through space which is opened at both ends thereof and formed to enable a tube to penetrate therethrough; and a wing portion which is connected to an outer surface of the body portion and transmits rotational force to the body portion.

Stent trimming devices and methods

Devices and methods for trimming a stent to a desired length with an outer tube and an inner tube having a distal end and a diameter configured to receive a portion of the stent in excess of the desired length. The inner tube may move within the outer tube and the distal end may include an end effector configured to trim the portion from the stent while the device and stent are within a patient.

Devices and methods for installation and removal of a needle tip of a needle

The present disclosure provides medical devices, particularly medical grade needles with removable tips, as well as methods of needle tip installation and removal, and devices therefor. Needle tip installation and removal devices may include needle tip installation and removal tools and kits, including hand held and manipulated tools that facilitate the installation and removal of needle tips, particularly on vascular access port needles. Such installation and removal devices may provide more expedient hook up of the access port for the therapy. Also, the installation and removal of the needle tips may be conducted in a more sterile manner.

PRECISION LOW-DOSE,LOW-WASTE SYRINGES AND ERGONOMIC ATTACHMENTS THEREFOR
20190381252 · 2019-12-19 ·

Syringe attachments and syringes have particular suitability to the precision dispensing of small amounts of high viscosity materials, such as dermal fillers. An attachment may include a main body having an assist feature that includes a wheel and pinion gears on each side of the wheel which engage respective racks on the syringe body. A mechanical advantage may be provided to the user as the wheel is rotated relative to the syringe body and racks. Syringes and attachments may include precision position indicators viewed from multiple positions to enable a user to determine plunger position and the amount of dispensed contents with precision. An alternative configuration attachment may be slidably secured to a syringe to permit a user to operation the syringe from a lateral position using sliding movement of the thumb and fingers of one hand, for example. This configuration may be particularly suitable for self-administered insulin injections.
