VIRTUAL REALITY ACTIVITIES FOR VARIOUS IMPAIRMENTS
Systems and methods are provided for identifying a therapeutic VR activity or exercise for a subject/patient based on the subject's impairments, dynamically adjusting a VR activity for a patient, and identifying potential impairments based on a patient's performance in a VR activity. Patients may each have various physical, neurological, cognitive, and/or sensory impairments to be treated. Not all therapeutic activities may be appropriate for some patients and their impairments. A VR therapeutic activity platform may increase patient engagement and challenge patients at more appropriate times by better matching activities corresponding to a patient's impairments and dynamically adjusting each VR activity based on performance to offer a challenging and rewarding therapeutic experience.
Nasal oral care antiseptics cleansing kit
A patient cleaning kit having a package; an insert within the package, the insert and the package forming a first cavity and a second cavity; a cover coupled to the package, the cover and the package together enveloping the insert; a premoistened nasal swab within the first cavity; an oral swab within the second cavity; a toothbrush within the second cavity; and a bottle of germicidal solution within the package.
CONTAINER FOR A HEART PUMP DEVICE AND METHOD FOR OPERATING A HEART PUMP DEVICE
The invention relates to a container (1, 1′, 1″) for a heart pump device (4, 8, 12, 17, 18, 19, 26) with a first receiving space (3) for a compressible and expandable heart pump (4), wherein the first receiving space is delimited on several sides, in particular on all sides, by one or more closure elements (5, 5′, 6, 6′ 6″) and is closed off to the outside for preventing a contacting of the heart pump, wherein the closure elements (5, 5′, 6, 6′ 6″) leave free an opening (7) for the passage of a catheter (8) from the outside into the first receiving space (3), wherein the diameter of the opening (7) is dimensioned such that the heart pump can pass this exclusively in a condition which is at least partly compressed compared to the expanded condition. For implantation, the heart pump in the container (1, 1′, 1″) can firstly be operated by trial in the container (1, 1′, 1″) whilst feeding a rinsing fluid and can then be pulled through the opening (7) amid simultaneous compression, into a sheath element (11).
CAREGIVER CONNECTED WEARABLE
In various embodiments, a caregiver module is provided for use with a patient medical device, including a sensor to obtain a sensor signal related to the use of the patient medical device; an analog-to-digital converter to convert the sensor signal to corresponding sensor data; and a controller to transmit the sensor data to a wearable device, wherein the sensor data is transmitted in the same form as created by the converter. Various embodiments provide a wearable device for processing sensor data received from the caregiver module, including: memory storing processing instructions for interpreting sensor data of multiple types; and a processor to: receive configuration information associated with the caregiver module, receive sensor data of a first type from the caregiver module, and execute the processing instructions based on the configuration information, wherein the configuration information alters the operation of the processing instructions to interpret sensor data of the first type.
Device and method of generating an enriched gas within a nasal vestibule
A device and method of generating an enriched gas within a nasal vestibule of a patient includes a housing, a chamber, a chamber inlet, a pump, a molecular sieve bed, a release outlet, and a breath duct. The chamber is configured to be received within the nasal vestibule. The pump is configured to direct an ambient air from an ambient environment into the chamber. The molecular sieve bed is positioned within the chamber and configured to collect a predetermined molecule from the ambient air thereby generating the enriched gas. The release outlet is configured to discharge the enriched gas from the chamber into the nasal vestibule. The breath duct longitudinally extends through the housing such that the breath duct is configured to fluidly communicate a fluid flow through the housing for nasal breathing by the patient while the chamber is positioned within the nasal vestibule.
Aroma delivery system for aerosol delivery device
The present disclosure provides an aerosol precursor consumable, and an aerosol delivery device that comprises a control unit that defines a receiving chamber, and a removable and replaceable aerosol precursor consumable, at least a portion of the consumable configured to be received into the receiving chamber. The aerosol precursor consumable comprises a housing defining an outer wall, an aerosol precursor composition reservoir located in the housing and configured to contain an aerosol precursor composition, an atomizer located in the housing, and at least one aroma diffuser. The atomizer is configured to vaporize the aerosol precursor composition to generate an aerosol for oral delivery to a user, and the at least one aroma diffuser is configured to diffuse an aroma composition for olfactory delivery to the user.
RESPIRATORY INTERFACE DEVICE, FRAME, KIT AND CONDUIT
Disclosed is a respiratory interface device (1) and components thereof. The respiratory interface device (1) comprises a body (2), a frame (3), and an inlet conduit (4). The frame has a front wall (10a), side walls (10b), and side arms (12), and a support platform (11) extending rearwardly from the front wall (10a). An inlet opening (13) is defined in the support platform (11). The body (2) forms a chamber with the support platform (11) and comprises at least one nasal outlet (5), a base opening (7), and at least one further opening (6), through which the support platform (11) extends. The inlet conduit (4) comprises a connector (18) that clamps the body (2) and the support platform (11) together.
Chest Drainage System Securing Apparatus
A chest drainage system securing apparatus for securing and maintaining chest drainage systems in position following placement into a human or animal patient and preventing movement or unplanned removal thereof in response to the application of significant forces in any direction thereto, be they longitudinal, torsional/rotational or bending. The securement system includes retention devices secured to a chest tube which interact with an adhesive pad releasably attached to a patient to ensure proper positioning of the chest tube. The adhesive pad includes one or more Heimlich-type valves for sealing sucking chest wounds and for sealing an incision formed in a patients skin and chest for the placement and insertion of a chest tube.
Surgical Tool with Retractable Blade and Bougie Passage and a Method of Use Thereof
A surgical tool has an elongate tool body that supports a retractable scalpel blade at a working end of the tool body. A bougie passage extends through the tool body to receive a bougie slidable longitudinally through the passage in the tool body. The tool body may be a single scalpel handle, or a pair of forceps. In either instance, the tool may be used to perform a cricothyrotomy procedure on patient or introduce a thoracostomy tube into a patient. In each instance, the scalpel blade forms an incision, followed by retraction of the blade and insertion of the bougie while the tool remains inserted into the patient. After removal of the tool, the bougie is used to guide subsequent insertion of a tube into the patient.
