A cartridge assembly for modifying a treating surface, having a body that defines a reservoir that has a standpipe. The reservoir stores a treatment composition. The body comprises a reservoir wall and a die wall that collectively define a reservoir volume. The standpipe is defined by a standpipe wall that extends into the reservoir from a standpipe base, wherein the standpipe base comprises a portion of the die wall. The standpipe base and the standpipe wall collectively define a standpipe volume. The ratio of the reservoir volume to the standpipe volume is from about 50:1 to about 3:1, preferably from about 20:1 to about 4:1, and more preferably about 8:1. Further, the ratio of the surface area of the die wall to the standpipe base is from about 1.1:1 to about 3:1.

A method of treating the skin is disclosed that comprises placing a composition including frankincense essential oil on one or more needles; piercing the skin within the boundary of a stretch mark with the one or more needles to a depth between 0.5 mm and 2 mm; and repeating the piercing step over the area of the stretch mark.

A system and method for dermal spraying includes a portable, hand-held dermal application device with disposable formulation capsules that spray a formulation unto the skin and a data transmission unit operatively connecting the dermal spray device to a mobile device. A method for providing a negative pressure wherein a pump is cycled on and off to achieve a target negative pressure, which is set slightly lower than the therapeutic negative pressure. A device determines the actual pressure by averaging samples which may occur at a different rate than the pump cycle.

The present invention is a handheld device used to deliver hyaluronic acid to the skin and is used in the dermatology field and as an aesthetic treatment. The present invention uses pressure to launch a hyaluronic acid mixture into the skin that is better tolerated and less painful than conventional hypodermic needle procedures. The present invention is a non-invasive tool that delivers hyaluronic acid into the skin through the use of pressure as opposed to a hypodermic needle, thereby significantly decreasing the likelihood of damage to the skin when compared to a hypodermic needle device.
