THERMALLY ADAPTIVE ENCLOSURE VENT
An enclosure vent is operable to be mounted to a building that presents an interior space and to move in response to a change in vent temperature. The vent includes a vent frame and a laminated composite vent panel. The vent panel includes outer and inner panel layers and an intermediate connecting structure that connects the panel layers relative to one another along an interface defined between the panel layers. The outer and inner panel layers have, respectively, first and second coefficients of thermal expansion that are different from each other and cause expansion and contraction of the corresponding panel layers along the interface. The connecting structure permits expansion and/or contraction of each panel layer in response to a vent temperature change so that the panel flexes.

Provided is a target plate for radioisotope production that has sufficient durability and sufficient heat resistance for use in radioisotope production and that is capable of reducing the extent of radioactivation. In a target plate for radioisotope production, a support substrate, which supports a target, includes a graphite film(s). The thermal conductivity in a surface direction of the graphite film(s) is 1200 W/(m.Math.K) or greater, and the thickness of the graphite film(s) is 0.05 μm or greater and 100 μm or less.
Graphene mounted on aerogel
An apparatus having reduced phononic coupling between a graphene monolayer and a substrate is provided. The apparatus includes an aerogel substrate and a monolayer of graphene coupled to the aerogel substrate.
PHOSPHOR DEVICE
A phosphor device of an illumination system emitting a first waveband light and having an optical path includes a first section and a first phosphor agent. The first phosphor agent is coated on the first section. The first waveband light is received and converted into a second waveband light by the first phosphor agent. The second waveband light is directed to the optical path. The range of the spectrum of the second waveband light includes at least a first color light and a second color light, so that the first color light or the second color light is separated from the second waveband light along the optical path. Therefore, the diversity of the design of the phosphor device is enhanced, the manufacturing cost and the size of product are reduced, and the color purity is enhanced.
Coating film, method for manufacturing same, and PVD apparatus
Provided is a physical vapor deposition (PVD) method in which a thick, hard carbon film having excellent durability can be formed, and chipping resistance and wear resistance can bot be achieved while improving the low friction properties and peeling resistance of the formed hard carbon film. Provided is a coating film having a total film thickness of greater than 1 μm and less than or equal to 50 μm, wherein, when observed using a bright field TEM image, the cross section of the coating film is revealed to consist of relatively white hard carbon layers and relatively black hard carbon layers alternately stacked in the thickness direction, and the white hard carbon layers have a region having a columns-shape, which has grown in the thickness direction.

Surface-Reinforced Carbon Fiber Toothed Structure
A carbon fiber toothed structure has a body. The body is circular and has a toothed segment and at least one carbon fiber cloth. The toothed segment is formed on an outer periphery of the body. The at least one carbon fiber cloth is deposited on a front side and a rear side of the body from a center to the outer periphery of the body to cover the toothed segment. The body is made by stacking multiple circular carbon fiber cloths of different diameters with each other. Some of the carbon fiber cloths deposited in the body have smaller diameters than those of the others of the carbon fiber cloths to enable the center of the body being thicker than the outer periphery of the body. The toothed segment has two guiding inclined planes respectively deposited on the front side and the rear side of the body.
