Composite display cover
Implementations for composite display cover are described and provide improved protection and durability to device displays as compared with conventional display protection technologies. The described composite display cover, for instance, utilizes an ultra-thin glass layer with a polymer film applied directly to the glass layer and a hard coat applied to the polymer film. The polymer film, for instance, is applied to the glass layer without an adhesive. Further, the composite display cover can be attached to a display, such as via an adhesive layer that adheres the glass layer to a surface of the display.
Method for producing a composite pane with a functional element
A method for producing a composite pane, includes arranging a functional element in a recess of a thermoplastic frame film, arranging the thermoplastic frame film along with the functional element between a first glass pane and a second glass pane to form a layer stack, and subsequent joining of the layer stack by lamination to form a composite pane. The thermoplastic frame film and the functional element have a different thickness and the different thickness is at least partially compensated by at least one thermoplastic compensating film, whose thickness is less than twice as large as the difference between the thicknesses of the thermoplastic frame film and the functional element such that the maximum offset in the layer stack is less than the difference between the thicknesses of the thermoplastic frame film and the functional element.
Vehicle window, vehicle, and method for producing same
A vehicle window, includes at least one transducer device and transducer electronics associated with the transducer device, wherein both the transducer device and the transducer electronics are arranged at least partially within the vehicle window, wherein the transducer device and/or a compensating device associated with the transducer device and arranged at least partially within the vehicle window and/or an electrical shielding device associated with the transducer device for electrically shielding the transducer device relative to a vehicle interior or a vehicle exterior are transparent, at least in sections.
Coloured PVB
A method is directed to modifying the color in transmission of an optical system that incorporates an electrochromic device. Such a modified optical system makes it possible to combine the notions of effectiveness in the chromatic variation on the one hand, and of limitation of losses in light transmission on the other hand.
Transparent substrate with laminated film
A transparent substrate with a laminated film, which comprises a transparent substrate and a laminated film formed on at least one surface of the transparent substrate, wherein the laminated film has a first dielectric layer, a crystallinity-improving layer, a functional layer and a second dielectric layer in this order from the transparent substrate side, the crystallinity-improving layer contains ZrN.sub.x (wherein x is higher than 1.2 and at most 2.0), the functional layer contains at least one metal nitride selected from the group consisting of titanium nitride, chromium nitride, niobium nitride, molybdenum nitride and hafnium nitride, and the concentration of oxygen atoms at a boundary between the crystallinity-improving layer and the functional layer, is at most 20 atom %.
Laminated glazing with a switchable liquid crystal layer
A switchable laminated glazing comprising two stacks of components with different lamination parameters, a first stack of components which provides the mechanical protection of the glazing, and a second stack of components with variable light transmission.
Method of autoclave-free laminating
A method for laminating an assembled sandwich structure consisting of a functional part (4) and one glass article (5) separated from an outer surface of the functional part by a laminating film (6) by heating with electromagnetic radiation in a vacuum is described. In the method equal temperatures of all sandwich components are provided by selection of the optimal radiation frequencies. The optimal vacuum level is provided following the laminating film temperature.

The interlayer film includes a laminated region including a first layer that is in contact with the first glass plate, a second layer that is in contact with the second glass plate, and a third layer disposed between the first layer and the second layer. When the relative dielectric constant of the first glass plate is denoted by ε.sub.g1, the relative dielectric constant of the second glass plate is denoted by ε.sub.g2, the relative dielectric constant of the first layer is denoted by ε.sub.m1, the relative dielectric constant of the second layer is denoted by ε.sub.m2, and the relative dielectric constant of the third layer is denoted by ε.sub.m3, relationships ε.sub.m1<ε.sub.g1, ε.sub.m1<ε.sub.g2, ε.sub.m2<ε.sub.g1, ε.sub.m2<ε.sub.g2, ε.sub.m3>ε.sub.m1, ε.sub.m3>ε.sub.m2 are established.
GLASS ARTICLES EXHIBITING IMPROVED FRACTURE PERFORMANCE
Embodiments of this disclosure pertain to a strengthened glass article including a first surface and a second surface opposing the first surface defining a thickness (t) of about less than about 1.1 mm, a compressive stress layer extending from the first surface to a depth of compression (DOC) of about 0.1.Math.t or greater, such that when the glass article fracture, it breaks into a plurality of fragments having an aspect ratio of about 5 or less. In some embodiments, the glass article exhibits an equibiaxial flexural strength of about 20 kgf or greater, after being abraded with 90-grit SiC particles at a pressure of 25 psi for 5 seconds. Devices incorporating the glass articles described herein and methods for making the same are also disclosed.
