Component with Surface Structure Generated by Embossing and Method for the Production Thereof
The invention relates to a component having a plate-shaped or profile-shaped support and a decorative surface layer connected to the support, the surface layer being formed of thermally curable resin and comprising a three-dimensional surface structure that is produced by embossing and is irregular. According to the invention, in order to inexpensively obtain a decorative surface which has good wear resistance and largely prevents disturbing finger prints, the surface structure comprises regions that are alternately ordered and non-ordered and that are formed by a ribbed and/or grooved structure, ordered regions having parallel and/or quasi-parallel ribs and/or parallel and/or quasi-parallel grooves being interrupted by non-ordered regions or structural breaks, and the width of the respective rib or groove being in the range of from 0.5 μm to 100 μm. Furthermore, a method for manufacturing a component of this type using a corresponding embossing tool is disclosed and claimed.
INTERLAYER FOR LAMINATED GLASS AND LAMINATED GLASS
There is provided an interlayer film for laminated glass with which the flexural rigidity of laminated glass can be enhanced and the sound insulating properties of laminated glass can be enhanced. The interlayer film for laminated glass according to the present invention includes a thermoplastic resin, and has a smallest value of the shear storage elastic modulus in a temperature region of 10° C. or more and 40° C. or less measured at a frequency of 0.5 Hz of 3 MPa or more, a ratio of a shear storage elastic modulus at 20° C. measured at a frequency of 0.5 Hz to a shear storage elastic modulus at −30° C. measured at a frequency of 0.5 Hz of 0.01 or more and 0.8 or less, a glass transition temperature falling within the range of −20° C. or more and 0° C. or less, and a largest value of tan δ in a temperature region of −20° C. or more and 0° C. or less of 0.1 or more.
ENHANCED CO-FORMED/MELTSPUN FIBROUS WEB STRUCTURE
An enhanced, co-formed fibrous web structure is disclosed. The web structure may have a co-formed core layer sandwiched between two scrim layers. The core layer may be formed of a blend of cellulose pulp fibers and melt spun filaments. The scrim layers may be formed of melt spun filaments, and the filaments forming one or both scrim layers may have a number average diameter of 4.5 μm or less. Filaments of one or both of the scrim layers, and optionally the core layer, may also be meltblown filaments. Alternatively, the filaments forming the scrim layers may constitute from 1 to 13 percent of the weight of the structure. Alternatively, the scrim layers may have a combined basis weight of from 0.1 gsm to less than 3.0 gsm. A method for forming the structure, including direct formation of layers, is also disclosed.
Highly-filled polyurethane composites with fiber reinforcement
Composite panels and methods of preparation are described herein. In some embodiments, the composite panel can include a first fiber reinforcement, a polyurethane composite having a first surface and a second surface opposite the first surface, wherein the first surface is in contact with the first fiber reinforcement; and a cementitious material adjacent the first fiber reinforcement opposite the polyurethane composite. The polyurethane composite can be formed from (i) one or more isocyanates selected from the group consisting of diisocyanates, polyisocyanates, and mixtures thereof, (ii) one or more polyols, and (iii) a particulate filler. The fiber reinforcement can be formed from a woven or non-woven material, such as glass fibers. The composite panel can further include a material, such as a second fiber reinforcement and a cementitious layer, in contact with the second surface of the polyurethane composite. Articles comprising the composite panels are also disclosed.
MULTI-LAYER FILM
A multi-layer film includes a first-seal layer and a second-seal layer. The multi-layer film may be used to form a package for consumer-care products.
MICROLAYER MEMBRANES, IMPROVED BATTERY SEPARATORS, AND RELATED METHODS
Described herein is a multilayer microporous film or membrane that may exhibit improved properties, including improved dielectric break down and strength, compared to prior monolayer or tri-layer microporous membranes of the same thickness. The preferred multilayer microporous membrane comprises microlayers and one or more lamination barriers. Also disclosed is a battery separator or battery comprising one or more of the multilayer microporous films or membranes. The inventive battery and battery separator is preferably safer and more robust than batteries and battery separators using prior monolayer and tri-layer microporous membranes. Also, described herein is a method for making the multilayer microporous separators, membranes or films described herein.
