Surfacing materials for composite structures
Multifunctional surfacing materials for use in composite structures are disclosed. According to one embodiment, the surfacing material includes (a) a stiffening layer, (b) a curable resin layer, (c) a conductive layer, and (d) a nonwoven layer, wherein the stiffening layer (a) and the nonwoven layer (d) are outermost layers, and the exposed surfaces of the outermost layers are substantially tack-free at room temperature (20° C. to 25° C.). The conductive layer may be interposed between the curable resin layer and the stiffening layer or embedded in the curable resin layer. According to another embodiment, the surfacing material includes a fluid barrier film between two curable resin layers. The surfacing materials may be in the form of a continuous or elongated tape that is suitable for automated placement.

Co-injection molded multilayer structure and method for producing same
There is provided a co-injection molded multilayer structure comprising a barrier layer and outer layers laminated to contact with the barrier layer on its both sides, wherein the barrier layer is made of a resin composition (X) comprising an ethylene-vinyl alcohol copolymer (A) and an alkali metal salt (B) of a higher fatty acid, having a melting point of 250° C. or lower; the ethylene-vinyl alcohol copolymer (A) has an ethylene unit content of 20 to 60 mol % and a saponification degree of 90% or more, and a content of the alkali metal salt (B) in the barrier layer is 50 to 1500 ppm in terms of metal atoms; and the outer layers are made of a resin composition (Y) comprising an unmodified high-density polyethylene (F) and a maleic anhydride-modified polyethylene (G), and a maleic anhydride modification rate relative to the whole resin composition (Y) is 0.005 to 0.1 wt %. This co-injection molded multilayer structure has excellent adhesiveness, so that its oxygen barrier performance can be maintained even after being subjected to an impact due to falling or the like.
Joined body
Provided is a joined body comprising a first joined member, a second joined member, and a joining layer that joins the first joined member and the second joined member, wherein the first joined member and the second joined member are each independently one selected from the group consisting of a metal member, a polyamide resin member, and a polyolefin resin member, and the joining layer is a layer formed of a resin composition having a co-continuous phase including a continuous phase A farmed of the polyamide resin and a continuous phase B formed of the polyolefin resin and has a dispersed domain a distributed in the continuous phase A, a finely dispersed subdomain a′ distributed in the dispersed domain a, a dispersed domain b distributed in the continuous phase B, and a finely dispersed subdomain b′ distributed in the dispersed domain b.
Moisture barrier laminate
An object of the present invention is to provide a moisture barrier laminate including a moisture trapping layer that maximizes its moisture trapping performance and exhibits an excellent moisture barrier property. The moisture barrier laminate of the present invention includes a gas barrier film substrate A having a gas barrier layer a1 and a moisture trapping layer B formed on the film substrate A as a base. On a surface of the moisture trapping layer B opposite to the film substrate A, a protective resin layer C having a moisture permeability in a range of 4.0×10 to 5.0×10.sup.4 g/m.sup.2.Math.day at 40° C. and 90% RH is laminated.

RIGID POLYMERIC MODULAR FLOORING PLANK WITH CPVC AND METHOD OF MAKING SAME
A rigid polymeric modular flooring plank that contains chlorinated polyvinyl chloride (CPVC) in the core or base layer. The rigid polymeric modular flooring plank has at least a polymeric core or base layer, a decorative layer, and a wear layer located above the decorative layer. The CPVC can offset the negative effects from any plasticizer present in the core layer, and thus permits the core layer to include plasticized material such as from recycled or reclaimed sources including rework and scrap materials. Methods of making the planks are further described. A method to control dimensional stability of a polymeric flooring plank is further described.
