Lightning strike protection surfacer and method of manufacturing the same
A thermoplastic surfacer for providing lightning strike protection to a composite component of an aircraft, methods of manufacturing the surfacer, and methods of applying the surfacer to a composite part. The thermoplastic surfacer includes a broadgood having a thermoplastic resin, one or more fillers embedded into the broadgood, and a lightning strike protection mesh or foil embedded into the broadgood. When applying the surfacer to a composite part of an aircraft, the method includes draping the surfacer on an at least partially unconsolidated composite part, consolidating the at least partially unconsolidated composite part by heating the part to a temperature at or above a melt temperature of a resins used in the part and in the surfacer, and filling at least one surface defect in the consolidated part using the thermoplastic polymer resin and milled fibers provided in the thermoplastic surfacer.

Co-extruded, biaxially oriented, matte HDPE films
Disclosed are compositions and methods for multilayer films, which, in one embodiment may comprise a core layer comprising at least 50 wt. % of high-density polyethylene. Further, the multilayer film may include a first skin layer comprising at least 80 wt. % of high-density polyethylene, and a second skin layer comprising either: (i) one or more low-density polyethylenes; or (ii) one or more polypropylene-based copolymers. The multilayer film may be oriented in at least one direction.

Plastic Films
The invention relates to plastic films and a silicone containing polymer blend composition that can be used in the production of the plastic films which is a polymer composition obtainable from, per 100 parts by weight of the composition, 99.99 to 90 parts by weight of a polyolefin polymer (P) and 0.01 to 10 parts by weight of a masterbatch (M).
SINGLE PASS CARPET-PRODUCTION METHOD AND CARPETS PREPARED USING SAME
A low-weight carpet or carpet tile and process for making the same, wherein the carpet or carpet tile comprises a facecloth having a plurality of face yarns tufted through a primary backing, a low-viscosity polyolefin coating layer applied to the primary backing, a reinforcing scrim layer, and an extruded polyolefin sheet. The top surface and bottom surface of the carpet tile are defined by the facecloth and either the extruded polyolefin sheet or the reinforcing scrim layer, respectively. The entire multi-layer web is then passed through a nip to compress the layers together, and the entire web is chilled before optionally being cut into tiles.

THERMALLY STABLE MULTILAYER POLYMER EXTRUSION
A combination of materials that may be formed through an extrusion process. The resulting product has at least two layers. By coextruding multiple layers of at least two types of materials together, the final product may have improved mechanical, thermal, electrical, and other properties as compared to the original materials used. Additionally, by using an additive, filler, or doping material in at least one layer of the final product during the extrusion process, the mechanical, thermal, electrical, or other properties of the final product may be further improved.
