Composite Laminate Including a Thermoplastic Polyurethane Film Layer
A composite laminate structure includes one or more layers of prepreg and a thermoplastic polyurethane film layer on the surface of the one or more prepregs. A method of making a composite laminate structure including a thermoplastic polyurethane film is also provided.
Multi-Layer Visor System for Surgical Hood
A multi-layer visor system for a surgical hood or garment is provided. The system includes a base film layer and one or more removable film layers that are coextruded at high temperature to form a sterile surface between each of the film layers should the surgeon elect to peel away a soiled or splattered removable film layer during the course of a surgical procedure so that an unobstructed view can be maintained. Thus, no separate sterilization step is required in order to sterilize the layers of the visor system. Each of the removable film layers can additionally include a tab having distinctive features in order to enable a wearer to easily distinguish between the tabs in order to make it easier for a wearer to know which tab to pull first to remove the outermost removable film layer. Further, because the tabs are located about the perimeter of the removable films, viewing is not obscured, yet the film layers are held securely in place until easily removed from the underlying removable film layer or base film layer.
COMPOSITE MATERIAL VEHICLE CARGO COMPARTMENT CONSTRUCT
A vehicle cargo construct including a floor, a plurality of side wall panels extending from the floor, and an end wall panel extending from the floor between the plurality of side wall panels. The floor has an exterior surface and an oppositely opposed interior surface. Each of the plurality of side wall panels has an exterior surface and an oppositely opposed interior surface. The has an exterior surface and an oppositely opposed interior surface. Each of the floor, the plurality of side wall panels, and the end wall panel are formed of a composite sandwich panel material formed including an open area core defining a plurality of pores disposed between a backing sheet and a surface sheet formed of a sheet molding composition (SMC) reinforced with unidirectional fibers.
ELECTRICALLY DIMMABLE GLAZING
The present invention relates to a specific multilayer composite which is suitable as a constituent of liquid-crystal devices and which contains two specific polycarbonate layers inter alia. The invention further relates to a method of producing the multilayer composite. The invention further relates to a liquid-crystal device comprising a multilayer composite according to the present invention, to a method of production thereof, and to the use thereof as structural glazing, in automotive glass, as floodlight cover, in optical filters, in shutters, in flat visual display screens, in glazed advertising devices, in dividing walls of trains, and in point-of-interest devices.
ANTIMICROBIAL MULTILAYER FILM
A multilayer film containing up to 15 wt % of a blend of cis-13-docosenamide and at least one primary antimicrobial material on or in an exterior layer of the film. The blend of cis-13-docosenamide and at least one primary antimicrobial material is either extruded as part of the surface layer of the film or coated onto the surface of the film.
RESIN IMPREGNATED DECORATIVE PAPER SHEET AND RESIN IMPREGNATED DECORATIVE PANEL
There is provided a resin impregnated decorative paper sheet (2) in which a decorative paper sheet (4) is impregnated with an impregnation resin (5). The decorative paper sheet (4) includes: a base paper sheet (6); a pattern layer (7) provided on a surface (6a) side of the base paper sheet (6); a foamed resin layer (8) formed by a foaming agent arranged on a surface (7a) of the pattern layer (7) or in the pattern layer (7); and a thermosetting resin layer (9) provided on a surface (8a) of the foamed resin layer (8). The thermosetting resin layer (9) contains at least one of an epoxy resin, a casein resin, an acrylic resin, and a urethane resin.
REFLECTIVE POLARIZER, WINDSHIELD, INTEGRAL OPTICAL CONSTRUCTION AND METHOD FOR MAKING INTEGRAL OPTICAL CONSTRUCTION
A reflective polarizer includes a plurality of first layers disposed on a plurality of polymeric second layers. Each of at least 30% of the first layers includes at least 30% by weight of an inorganic material. For an incident light incident in a plane and a first incident angle, the reflective polarizer and the first layers have respective average optical reflectances R3v and R1v in a visible wavelength range and respective average optical reflectances R3ir and R1ir in an infrared wavelength range, R1v<R3v and (R1ir−R3ir)>10%, when the incident light is polarized along a first direction; and for the visible wavelength range and for a second incident angle, the plurality of polymeric second layers has an average optical reflectance R2v(x) when the plane includes the first direction and an average optical reflectance R2v(y) when the plane includes a second direction, 5%<R2v(y)<R2v(x)<60%.
THERMAL INSULATION DEVICE
A thermal insulation device includes a film unit including inner and outer layers and a thermal insulation unit. The outer layer is mounted to a window of a vehicle. The inner layer has a peripheral portion connected sealingly to the outer layer, and a center portion spaced apart from and cooperating with the outer layer to define a thermal insulation space therebetween. The film unit is formed with inlet holes communicating with the thermal insulation space and a seating space of the vehicle, and outlet holes communicating with the thermal insulation space and open toward the bodyshell, such that air in the seating space flows into the thermal insulation space through the inlet holes and is discharged from the thermal insulation space toward the bodyshell through the outlet holes. The thermal insulation unit includes a heat insulation layer disposed on the outer layer.
