20170361569 · 2017-12-21 ·

A method for manufacturing a sandwich component includes applying at least one matrix material to the upper side and/or the underside of at least one material blank, and arranging the material blanks above one another and/or next to one another. At least two of the material blanks differ in design or matrix material may be applied in different ways along the upper side and/or underside thereof, or matrix material is applied in different ways to at least one of the material blanks along the upper side and/or underside thereof. In that way, at least one horizontal and/or vertical zone of the sandwich component is created having different mechanical properties than other regions of the sandwich component. The material blanks are then pressed to form the sandwich component.

Structural panels and methods of making composite material for such structural panels may include applying a resin to a nonwoven fibrous web, where the nonwoven fibrous web includes a combination of glass fibers and polymer fibers. The web may be dried at a first stage temperature at or below a curing temperature of the resin for a time sufficient to substantially dry but not substantially cure the resin. The web may be laminated at a second stage temperature sufficient to fully cure the resin to produce a composite material. The second stage temperature may be above the melting point of the polymer fibers, and the resin may cause the composite material to retain a substantially rigid shape upon completion of the laminating operation.

Floor mat with hidden base component

This invention relates to a washable multi-component magnetic floor mat with a hidden base component. The floor mat contains a textile component and a base component. The textile component and the base component are attached to one another by magnetic attraction. The magnetic attraction is provided by incorporation of magnetic particles in both the textile and base components. The textile component is designed to be soiled, washed, and re-used, thereby providing ideal end-use applications in areas such as building entryways. The present invention eliminates the need to wash the base component of the floor mat which results in environmental, cost and labor conservation. Alignment and deployment of the textile component with the base component in an efficient manner is also described herein.

MANUFACTURING METHOD FOR ALL-SOLID-STATE BATTERY, MANUFACTURING APPARATUS FOR ALL-SOLID-STATE BATTERY, AND ALL-SOLID-STATE BATTERY

A manufacturing method for an all-solid-state battery includes: producing a laminated battery having both end surfaces in a lamination direction and a side surface by laminating pluralities of collector layers, positive electrode mixture layers, solid electrolyte layers, and negative electrode mixture layers; supplying a liquid resin to only the side surface of the laminated battery; and curing the liquid resin. Producing the laminated battery by protruding at least one layer of the collector layer, the positive electrode mixture layer, the solid electrolyte layer, and the negative electrode mixture layer relative to remaining of the layers to form a protruding layer. Protruding a plurality of protruding layers from the side surface of the battery. Supplying the resin involves supplying the liquid resin to only the side surface of the laminated battery such that the liquid resin penetrates into a clearance between one protruding layer and another protruding layer.

METHOD FOR LAMINATING GLASS PANELS AND VACUUM LAMINATION DEVICE USING SAME

A method for laminating glass panels includes (1) providing a TFT substrate and a CF substrate to be laminated, in which the CF substrate is coated with a seal resin and the TFT substrate carries liquid crystal dropped thereon; (2) aligning and laminating the TFT substrate and the CF substrate in a vacuum environment to complete a lamination process; (3) applying UV light to transmit through the TFT substrate for carrying out UV curing of the seal resin interposed between the CF substrate and the TFT substrate so as to complete a UV curing process; and (4) removing the laminated CF substrate and the TFT substrate that have been subjected to the UV curing process out of the vacuum environment.

VITREOUS CARBON COMPOSITIONS, MULTI-LAYER LAMINATES, AND 3-D PRINTED ARTICLES

Micromorphologically crack-free vitreous carbon articles having a length and width each of which is at least 10 mm, and a thickness of at least 5 mm are described, as well as multilayer laminates of micromorphologically crack-free vitreous carbon, and corresponding methods and apparatus for manufacture of same. 3D printed vitreous carbon articles are also described, together with 3D printing apparatus and methods for producing same.
