Consumer scrubbing article with stain release and method of making same
A scrubbing article including a substrate, a stain release coating and a texture layer. The stain release coating is applied to the substrate and is present over a at least a major surface of the substrate, and the texture layer is formed over the stain release coating opposite the substrate. In some embodiments, the texture layer is printed on to the stain release coating. The substrate can assume various forms, such as nonwoven, fabric (e.g., woven or knitted), foam, film and sponge material or combinations thereof.
Integrated Air Barrier Assembly
An integrated air barrier assembly is provided as an integral product in which a fastener-sealing layer is secured between opposed surfaces of a board and an anti-blocking facing layer. The assembly exhibits good fastener sealability, including for larger self-drilling screws. The anti-blocking facing layer maintains the fastener-sealing layer inward of the environment and prevents blocking or sticking of the assembly when stacked. In some embodiments, the anti-blocking facing layer can be a metal film or foil, which can reflect heat away from the fastener-sealing layer, thereby maintaining a lower temperature on the fastener-sealing layer. In some embodiments, the board can be an insulating layer or wood layer. The assembly can be readily installed in a single step during construction.
Coated closed-cell foam tube insulations and methods for producing the same
Provided is an insulation product, optionally in a tubular form, that includes a coated foam insulation layer, where the foam insulation layer has a closed-cell structure. The coating can comprise a thermoplastic elastomer that seamlessly covers and is bonded to an outer surface of the elastomeric foam layer in the absence of an adhesive bonding material to protect the foam insulation layer, e.g., during outdoor insulation applications. A pipe where the insulation product is installed is also provided, as is a method of installing the insulation product, and a method of producing the insulation product.
Foam fiber elastomeric materials and their manufacturing
The present invention concerns an elastic fibrous material, based on a fiber network, also including an elastomeric component, which material has been formed into a flat structure with two surfaces. Further, the invention concerns a method of manufacturing said elastic fibrous material by forming a fiber network, containing an elastic polymer, foaming the fiber network, adding it into one or more layers on a support, followed by curing.
Composite film, device including, and method of forming the same
In present invention, various embodiments provide a photothermotropic composite film. The composite film comprises a matrix and one or more nanostructures comprising a metal oxide semiconductor which is configured to convert radiant energy to thermal energy. The matrix has a property which is changeable based on the thermal energy received by the matrix from the metal oxide semiconductor. In a preferred embodiment, hybridization of the poly(N-isopropylacrylamide) (PNIPAM) hydrogel and antimony-tin oxide (ATO) is provided as the composite film. In this film, the ATO absorbs at near-infrared (NIR) region and acts as nanoheater to induce the optical switching of the hydrogel. The behaviour of this composite film can be used as a new generation of autonomous passive smart windows for climate-adaptable solar modulation.
Graphic articles comprising polylactic acid polymer based film
A graphic article comprising a Poly lactic acid (PLA) based film and in particular, an ink layer depicting a graphic is described. The PLA based film comprises a semicrystalline polylactic acid polymer, a second of a polyvinyl acetate polymer having a glass transition temperature (Tg) of at least 25° C., and plasticizer. The article is typically a tape or sheet that may further comprise an adhesive (e.g. pressure sensitive) and a low adhesion backsize or a release liner. A method of forming a graphic article using the film of the invention is also disclosed.
Methods for making paper or board, a board tray and pulp particles coated with foamable polymer for use in the same
The invention concerns a method of manufacturing paper or board, the paper or board obtained by the method, and a method of producing a tray from the board. In a fibrous stock for papermaking is incorporated an amount of polymer coated fibrous particles, which even have a foaming agent such as moisture contained therein. A web is formed from the fibrous stock on a forming fabric of a paper or board machine, followed by pressing and drying to a finished paper or board. As the paper or board is sufficiently heated the foaming agent within the particles evaporates, causing expansion and foaming of the polymer coating, which adds to malleability of the board as it is moulded into a shaped article such as a board tray. The invention even covers production of doubly coated fibrous particles for use in said methods, the inner coating layer being of a foamable polymer with a higher melt flow rate and the outer coating layer being of a non-foaming polymer of a lower melt flow rate.
PROTECTIVE FILM AND SHEET
A protective film that includes at least one of a transparent polyolefin resin layer and a surface protection layer, and that has excellent weather resistance and a low level of white turbidity, which is a factor that impairs design properties; and a sheet using the protective film. The protective film comprises at least a transparent polyolefin resin layer, wherein the transparent polyolefin resin layer contains a first hydroxyphenyltriazine-based ultraviolet absorber (UVA-A) having a structure represented by the general formula below. In the general formula, R1-R3 each independently represent a hydrogen atom, a methyl group, a phenyl group, or an alkoxy group, and at least two of R1-R3 are an alkoxy group having 8-18 carbon atoms, R4 and R5 each independently represent a hydroxyl group, a methyl group, or a hydrogen atom, and R6-R8 each independently represent a methyl group or a hydrogen atom.
Decorative laminates having an open-cell foam layer
Decorative laminates having an open-cell foam layer are disclosed herein. An example decorative laminate includes a decorative layer, an open-cell foam layer coupled to the decorative layer and an adhesive layer coupled to the open-cell foam layer.
DECORATIVE WOOD MOSAIC AND METHOD OF MAKING SAME
A decorative wood mosaic or assembly includes a rigid support member selectively formed to have a preselected shape that is coated with one or more decorative coatings. Individual pieces of end-grain cut wood rounds of discretionary shapes and sizes are secured to the rigid support member and selectively coated with one or more decorative coatings to create a three-dimensional work of art.
