Systems and methods for accelerated conditioning of composite core sandwich coupons
In an example, a method for accelerated conditioning of a composite core sandwich coupon is described. The method includes setting a first temperature and a first relative humidity level of the conditioning apparatus, wherein a combination of the first temperature and the first relative humidity level correspond to a desired relative humidity level of the plurality of cells of the core layer at room temperature. The method includes maintaining the first temperature and the first relative humidity for a first period, wherein during the first period a core humidity of the plurality of cells in the core layer approaches the first relative humidity level. The method includes determining that the core humidity has reached the first relative humidity level. The method includes, based on determining that the core humidity has reached the first relative humidity level, adjusting the first temperature to a second temperature.
Missile impact resistant exterior sheathing building panel
An impact resistant exterior sheathing gypsum building panel with an integrated impact resistant woven mesh which protects against impact from projectiles such as those conveyed by hurricane force winds is provided. Methods for manufacturing these exterior sheathing gypsum building panels with an integrated impact resistant woven mesh are also provided. An exterior sheathing system employing the exterior sheathing cementitious building panel is provided.
REINFORCING STRUCTURE FOR A WIND TURBINE BLADE
The present invention relates to a reinforcing structure, such as a reinforcing structure for reinforcing a wind turbine blade, comprising: a first composite element layer comprising at least two carbon fibre reinforced composite elements; a second composite element layer comprising one or more carbon fibre reinforced composite elements; an interlayer sandwiched at least partly between the first and the second composite element layer, the interlayer comprising an electrically conductive portion and a non-conductive portion surrounding the conductive portion, the conductive portion abutting exactly two of the carbon fibre reinforced composite elements comprised in the first composite element layer. A method for manufacturing such a structure is also provided.
Multi-threat mitigation security apparatus for protecting personnel, assets and critical infrastructure
A multi-threat security apparatus system for critical infrastructure protection is disclosed having an above-ground concrete base, a vertical post system adapted to be attached to the above-ground concrete base and to receive a plurality of louvers. The plurality of louvers provides the necessary ballistic protection for and air flow through to the critical infrastructure. The louvers may include a composite of aluminum foam, a resin impregnated ballistic material and an aluminum foam. The composite structure may be used on doors, panels or building walls.
CARRIER FOIL-ATTACHED METAL FOIL, METHOD OF MANUFACTURING THE SAME, AND LAMINATE INCLUDING THE SAME
The present invention relates to a carrier foil-attached metal foil including a release layer having a specific composition and structure, a method of manufacturing the carrier foil-attached metal foil, and a laminate for forming a printed circuit board including the carrier foil-attached metal foil. The laminate for forming a printed circuit board according to the present invention comprises the carrier foil-attached metal foil, so that a defect rate can be minimized.
Wet friction material with quaternary ammonium salts
A wet friction material includes a base including a matrix of fibers and filler particles embedded in the matrix of fibers; a binder embedded in an interior of the base; and a quaternary ammonium salt containing coating on an outer surface of the base. The quaternary ammonium salt containing coating can include a quaternary ammonium salt and a solution binder.
High strength multi-use hose
A single layer/ply multi-use hose is contemplated. A thermoplastic polymer, such as polyurethane, is extruded through a woven tubular mesh of aramid fibers so as to encourage pillaring through gaps in the mesh of a sufficient amount to improve the overall durability and strength of the resultant hose. This wide diameter (at least 4 inches) and long continuous length (at least 300 feet) hose exhibits excellent durability (e.g., resistance to abrasion and/or punctures) and tensile ratios in excess of 2:1 so as to withstand tensile loads in excess of 100,000 pounds without delamination or bubbling within the hose wall.
DEVICE AND METHOD FOR SEALING OR REPAIRING A LEAKING AND/OR DAMAGED LOCATION ON AN INNER WALL OF A PIPE
A device and method for sealing or repairing a leaking and/or damaged location on an inner wall of a pipe, includes a volume-expandable bellow body configured to expand, with an increase in its volume, when the bellows body is positioned in the region of the leaking and/or damaged location in the interior of the pipe, with infiltration of a fluid, into a bellows-body interior. A carrier portion is formed on an outer surface of the bellows body, a resinated sealing mat being arrangeable on the carrier portion, the sealing mat being fastenable to the inner wall of the pipe, and being able to cure, in an expanded state of the bellows body in the region of the leaking and/or damaged location by being pressed against said-the inner wall. The device can also be used reliably in long-term use, such that the carrier portion is formed from Para rubber or silicone.
Roof Underlayment
An air and water barrier article comprised of multiple layers. The layers include a porous layer, a polymeric layer disposed on a front side of the porous layer, and a pressure sensitive adhesive disposed on a second side of the porous layer. In certain embodiments, a top polymeric layer having hydrophobic and UV resistant properties will be provided on a surface of the first polymeric layer opposite the adhesive layer. Each of the polymeric layers and the porous layer can be formed of a material(s) having a Tg between −40° C. and 20° C. The top layer, if present, can have a Tg between −5 and 30° C. The barrier article can provide nail seal ability and have a weight of less than 30 ounces per square yard.
Piezoresponsive Fibre Reinforced Polymer Composite
A fibre-reinforced polymer composite comprising fibres bound within a solid polymer matrix, wherein at least some of the fibres are in contact with graphene, and wherein the composite changes electrical resistance when deformed.
