Deposit dissipating layer

Described in this disclosure is a surface configured to break down deposits thereon. The surface may include breakdown structures, oleophilic structures, and hydrophilic structures. The oleophilic structures and hydrophilic structures are configured to disperse a deposit, such as fingerprint residue, to the breakdown structures. This dispersion increases the surface area of the deposit with respect to the breakdown structures, increasing the contact area between the two. The breakdown structures modify the deposit physically, chemically, or both, such that fragments are distributed into the ambient environment. The surface may be applied to portable electronic devices.

Mortar-less decorative tile mosaic composite for swimming pool bottom

Preformed and self-contained ceramic tile mosaic composite that contact adheres to swimming pool bottoms without tools or a need to drain water. This invention in unique in that it allows for easy tool-free installation in the bottom pools full of water. This invention is also unique in that it allows for installation in soft shell pools (i.e. vinyl liner, in-ground and above ground) as well as concrete based and fiberglass pools. Another differentiator is that this invention is flexible and conforms to the bottom of the pool. This provides full surface interface of the rubber base and pool bottom. The rubber base is designed to be tractable and can provide some degree of suction allowing the composite to keep intended form, shape, position and location without the permanence of a cementitious or epoxy/glue adhesive necessitated by typical mesh mounted pool tile mosaics. This invention also allows

Method of producing a fibrous product and a fibrous product

The present invention relates to multi-layer fiber products and a method of manufacturing these kinds of products. The present product comprises a first layer consists mainly of natural fibers and a second, heat-sealing layer located on top of the first layer. The heat-sealing layer consists mainly of synthetic thermoplastic fibers or particles. According to the present method, the heat-sealing layer is brought onto the first layer already during the web forming process, the first and the second layers being formed and joined together in a foam forming process. With the present invention, it is possible to decrease the amount of plastic materials in packaging materials having heat-sealing properties.

THICKNESS DIRECTION CONDUCTIVE LAMINATED COMPOSITE MATERIAL AND MANUFACTURING METHOD THEREFOR

A thickness direction conductive laminated composite material, comprising: laminated multiple layers of carbon fiber; a curable resin which is disposed among the laminated multiple layers of carbon fiber, coats the laminated multiple layers of carbon fiber and bonds the laminated multiple layers of carbon fiber together; and a conductive material, the conductive material comprising at least one of the followings: a conductive fiber woven together with the carbon fiber, an interlayer conductive film, an interlayer conductive Z-pin and an interlayer conductive particle. The carbon fiber accounts for 40 vol % or more of the thickness direction conductive laminated composite material. The thickness direction conductive laminated composite material has higher thickness direction conductivity, planar conductivity and electric energy transmission performance than traditional laminated composite materials.

ELECTROSPUN CONDUCTIVE CARBON FIBERS

A conductive carbonaceous fiber is provided, comprising a carbonaceous material obtained from carbonizing an electrospun fiber wherein said fiber comprises at least one conductive metal precursor. The electrospun fibers can be formed into fibrous mats during spinning, stabilization and carbonization that are conductive materials which can be used to make stretchable conductors for flexible electronic devices. The invention relates also to the process for making the fibers, corresponding elastomeric fibrous mesh/polymer composites as well as use of these composites for making stretchable electrical conductors. The obtainable elastomeric composite films (with a thickness in the range of 0.8 to 1.5 mm) exhibit good electrical conductivity and excellent electromechanical stability under mechanical deformations (e.g. elongating, twisting and bending). The scalable fabrication process and low-cost precursors make the elastic electrospun carbon fibers/polymer composite conductors promising materials for applications in flexible electronic devices, displays, sensors, wearable conducting clothes, implantable medical devices, etc.

THREE-DIMENSIONAL SUBSTRATE COMPRISING A TISSUE LAYER

A three-dimensional substrate has a first surface, a second surface, land areas and comprises three-dimensional protrusions extending outward from the second surface of the three-dimensional substrate. The three-dimensional protrusions are surrounded by the land areas. The three-dimensional substrate is a laminate comprising at least two layers in a face to face relationship. The second layer comprise a tissue layer facing outward from the second surface of the three-dimensional substrate. The tissue layer comprises at least 80% pulp fibers by weight of the tissue layer.

FLOOR COVERING WITH UNIVERSAL BACKING AND METHODS OF MAKING AND RECYCLING

A dimensionally stable universal floor covering includes a tufted textile having stitches and a reinforcement layer operatively connected to the stitches to provide dimensional stability for the entire floor covering. The reinforcement layer is made of fibers that are initially contained within a composition of adhesive and fibers. Mixing of the adhesive/fibers composition and/or injection of compressed air, assists in preparing the adhesive and fiber composition to be in the preferred condition and position prior to the forming of the reinforcement layer. Multiple sources of pressure, including vacuum, are applied in a controlled manner for moving the adhesive and fiber composition to form a reinforcement layer of fibers that is operatively connected to the stitches and/or to form a layer of fibers and adhesive that is contained within the stitches. The universal floor covering is selectively cut and transported in a roll for installation, and it can be conveniently recycled if necessary.
