A covering layer for a vehicle trim element, a trim element and a method thereof are provided. The covering layer for the vehicle trim element is visible from outside of the trim element. The covering layer comprises a main layer and a protective layer (24) extending over an outer surface of the main layer. The protective layer is polyurethane-based. The main layer comprises a fiber web comprising: between 40 and 80% by mass of natural fibers, at least 40% of said natural fibers having a length of between 35 and 150 mm; and between 20 and 60% by mass of synthetic fibers, at least 40% of said synthetic fibers having a length of between 30 and 100 mm.

Dash isolation pad

An embodiment dash isolation pad includes a 3D vertical nonwoven fabric layer having a structure in which wave-type short fibers are vertically arranged, a sound absorption layer on one side or both sides of the 3D vertical nonwoven fabric layer, and an olefin-based powder layer between the 3D vertical nonwoven fabric layer and the sound absorption layer.

FIBER COMPOSITE PRODUCT AND A METHOD FOR PRODUCING THEREOF

A fiber composite product for an automotive interior or exterior component. The fiber composite product includes a first layer including a structured natural fiber fabric embedded within a solidified matrix of thermoplastic resin; a second layer including natural fibers in form of a non-woven mat within a solidified matrix of thermoplastic resin, which is attached at the first layer, and injections of thermoplastic resin onto the second layer.

Layered thermal insulation system and thermal insulation products fabricated therefrom
12054861 · 2024-08-06 · ·

A layered thermal insulation system generally conformable to three-dimensioned surfaces of heat-producing elements in need of insulation is described. The system comprises: i) an inner high temperature resistant insulation layer; ii) an outer high temperature resistant insulation layer adjacent the inner high temperature resistant insulation layer; and, iii) a first reflection layer and a second reflection layer. Each of said reflection layers is formed of a material selected from a group consisting of metal foils and are provided with a plurality of dimples and/or protrusions. The first reflection layer is adjacent the inner high temperature insulation layer such that, in use, an opposing surface thereof is in close proximity to said surfaces of said element to be insulated. The second reflection layer is adjacent to the outer high temperature insulation layer such that, in use, an opposing surface thereof comprises an exposed surface having a lower temperature than said surfaces of said element.

VEHICLE INTERIOR PANEL WITH NON-UNIFORM HARDNESS
20240316838 · 2024-09-26 ·

A vehicle interior panel includes a substrate with non-uniform hardness, providing cushioned portions of the panel without the need for a distinct cushioning layer. The substrate is made from a mat of natural and synthetic fibers that is heated and pressed so that the pressed mat has thick and thin portions. The thin portions are rigid and structural, and the thick portions are soft. Application of a decorative layer can be incorporated into the process, as can back-injection molding (BIM) for additional structure.

FLAME RESISTANT NONWOVEN FABRICS AND COMPOSITES AND GARMENTS MADE WITH SAME
20240349833 · 2024-10-24 ·

Embodiments of the present invention replace at least some of the flame resistant fibers traditionally used in the batting of a thermal liner (e.g., aramids) with thermally stable polyamide fibers (e.g., nylon fibers). The TPP performance of garments incorporating embodiments of thermal liners contemplated herein is comparable toif not improved overgarments formed with traditional thermal liners.

Radon and moisture barrier for buildings
12123158 · 2024-10-22 · ·

A radon gas and/or moisture abatement system (or method) is located under the concrete slab of a building. The system (or method) includes a multilayered mat having a first layer, a second layer, and a third layer sandwiched between the first layer and the second layer. The first layer is non-permeable and faces the concrete slab. The third (or sandwiched) layer is an entangled net. The second layer is permeable layer. The layers are bonded together. Whereby radon gas and/or moisture are inhibited from entering the building by passing through and collecting in the multilayer product.

LIQUID OR GEL DELIVERY DEVICES

A delivery device is for intermittently delivering materials such as liquids or gels over a sustained period of time to a surface in a controlled way. The surface mountable delivery device is capable of delivering, an antimicrobial agent to protect surfaces from microbial contamination and/or to disinfect surfaces, e.g. door handles, push plates, hand rails, etc. as an aid in preventing and/or hindering the spread of infectious agents. The device uses a vertically lapped nonwoven material as the storage medium for the liquid or gel like materials within the device. A non-wicking liquid mediating layer controls transfer of liquid from a reservoir to a contact surface of the device to minimize liquid losses. An elastomeric contact liquid delivery layer is optimized for printability. Use of physical features at the device contact surface prevents pore occlusion on user contact and aids flow of liquid to the contact user.

Sandwich composite board
