Roofing membranes and related methods
Some embodiments relate to a roofing membrane. The roofing membrane comprises a scrim. The scrim has a top surface and a bottom surface. The roofing membrane comprises a cap layer on the top surface of the scrim. The cap layer comprises a first non-styrenic polypropylene polymer, a first polypropylene impact copolymer, and a first olefin block copolymer. The roofing membrane comprises a core layer on the bottom surface of the scrim. The core layer comprises a second non-styrenic polypropylene polymer, a second polypropylene impact copolymer, and a second olefin block copolymer. The roofing membrane is configured to prevent migration of at least one oil from a layer to the roofing membrane. Some embodiments relate to a roofing structure comprising the roofing membrane, a method for installing the roofing membrane, and the like.
Closed porous composite material, thermal insulation material, sound insulation material, and manufacturing method thereof
A method for manufacturing a closed porous composite material includes 1) preparing a mixture that has 30 to 70 parts by weight of water-dispersed resin, 10 to 300 parts by weight of unexpanded thermal expansion microspheres, and 100 to 550 parts by weight of water, and stirring the mixture thoroughly; 2) preparing a carrier; 3) coating the carrier with the mixture acquired in step 1; 4) heating the carrier so that the unexpanded thermal expansion microspheres expand; and 5) repeating steps 3 and 4 multiple times to acquire a closed porous composite material. The closed porous composite material has a large number of closed cavities and polymer walls separating the closed cavities. The closed cavity is 20 μm to 800 μm in size. The ratio of a total volume of the closed cavities to a total volume of the polymer walls is greater than 16.
COATED NONWOVEN MAT WITH COATING LAYER
A coated nonwoven mat includes a nonwoven base layer formed from a plurality of fibers held together by a binder. The nonwoven base layer includes a first surface and a second surface. The coated nonwoven mat includes a coating layer adhered to the first surface. The coating layer includes a coating composition having less than 5% of organic material, based on the weight of the coating composition.
Composite materials and uses thereof
The present invention relates to composite materials and the use thereof as energy resistant, for example blast-resistant, materials. Preferred aspects of the invention relate to layered composite panels comprising solid foam materials which have both a blast attenuation function and an anti-ballistic function. In further aspects, the invention provides novel composite panels which are suitable for use as blast resistant and/or anti-ballistic materials. In some examples described, the layered composite panel comprises a polymeric material (10) bonded to a first solid open-cell foam panel (12), and a cured polymeric material (14) penetrates a surface of the first solid open-cell foam panel (12).
Ceramic Composite Materials
Composite ceramic materials are disclosed in which an interconnected network of ceramic material on a substrate contains pores with an accessible pore volume that is at least partially filled with a polymer, resin, and/or wax.
Selectively Applied Gradient Coating Compositions
Surface modifications and coating materials are provided that may be applied to a substrate to reduce or eliminate damage that would accrue to do environmental effects or operational stress when incorporated into a device such as a heat exchanger. Structured ceramic surface modification materials may be incorporated into the surface modification and may optionally include a gradient in one or more physical or chemical property.
Assemblies of Functionalized Textile Materials and Methods of Use Thereof
Assemblies of stacked layers of materials are described. The assemblies include functional and structural layers. Functional layers include binderless ceramic materials on woven or non-woven substrates of natural, synthetic, or metallic materials. The layers of functional and structural materials may be configured to transport moisture or heat from an inner surface to an outer surface that is exposed to an ambient environment.
WOOD FIBRE BASED PANEL WITH A SURFACE LAYER
A building panel with a surface layer including a wood veneer, a wood fibre based core and a sub-layer between the surface layer and the core. The sub-layer includes wood fibres and a binder. The surface layer has surface portions including material from the sub-layer. The surface portions including material from the sub-layer extend into the wood veneer.
SUPPORTING CUSHION APPARATUS AND CHILD SAFETY CAR SEAT THEREWITH
The present application discloses a fireproof buffering structure which includes a buffering plate and a fireproof plate attached thereto. A combustion rate of the fireproof plate is lower than that of the buffering plate. In contrast to conventional buffering structures, the fireproof buffering structure adopts the combined buffering plate and fireproof plate. The buffering plate has good impact absorbing capacity for providing a soft and comfortable seating environment and buffering and protection effects during a crash accident, and the fireproof plate can reduce the combustion rate of the integral structure when catching fire. Therefore, the fireproof buffering structure achieves the purposes of safety and comfort. The present application further discloses a supporting cushion apparatus which includes a covering member and the aforementioned fireproof buffering structure accommodated therein. The present application further discloses a child safety car seat which includes the aforementioned fireproof buffering structure and the aforementioned supporting cushion apparatus.
METHOD FOR THE PREPARATION OF COMPOSITE MATERIAL IN SANDWICH FORM
The object of the invention can be a method of manufacturing a product in the form of a sandwich comprising a core and outer layers. The outer layers may be composed of composite material comprising a fiber-reinforced polymeric matrix. The method uses an insert of heat-resistant material, for example silicone. The object of this invention can be to provide a method of manufacturing a sandwich that dissociates the choice of material of the core of the sandwich from the choice of the material of the outer layers.
