Curative

A curative for epoxidized plant-based oils and epoxidized natural rubber is created from the reaction between a naturally occurring polyfunctional acid and an epoxidized plant-based oil is disclosed. The curative may be used to produce at least one of six different materials, wherein each type of material may be configured as a thermosetting elastomer that is crosslinked with -hydroxyester linkages. The materials may be configured as a leather-like material, a foam material, a molded elastomer, a coating, an adhesive, and/or a rigid or semi-rigid material. Illustrative articles made from any combination of the six materials may be recycled using a mechano-chemical process to de-crosslink the thermosetting elastomer.

A composite sandwich panel assembly with a defined set of breakpoints includes two or more open area cores, a high gloss surface sheet, and a structural skin. Each of the open area cores define a plurality of pores and each has a first face and an opposing second face. The high gloss surface sheet is adhered to the first face of the open area cores by a first adhesive layer. The high gloss surface sheet has a high gloss surface. The structural skin is adhered to the second face of each of the open area cores by a second adhesive layer. The interface between each of the open area cores determines the breakpoint of the composite sandwich panel.

Laminated member for decoration and method for producing decorative molded article

An object of the present invention is to provide a laminated member for decoration that can be molded into a complicated shape and has a superior hardcoating property. The present invention relates to a laminated member for decoration having a protective film, a coating layer and a resin substrate, wherein the surface roughness Rz(a) of the adhesive layer of the protective film on the side where the coating layer is located and the surface roughness Rz(b) of the coating layer of an unheated sample formed by peeling the protective layer, the surface roughness being taken on the side opposite from the resin substrate, define Rz(b)/Rz(a)100 having a prescribed relationship; the surface roughness Rz(b) and the surface roughness Rz(bh) of the coating layer of a heated sample prepared by heating the unheated sample under a prescribed condition, the surface roughness being taken on the side opposite from the resin substrate, satisfy at least one of Formulas (2) and (3) below:
0%Rz(bh)/Rz(b)100<30%(2), and
0Rz(bh)Rz(b)<0.5 m(3);
and the unreacted (meth)acryloyl groups of the coating layer of the heated sample irradiated with a prescribed amount of active energy rays have disappeared 10 to 100% as compared with the coating layer of the unheated sample.

Elastomer containing multilayer film and method of manufacture

A multilayer film including at least one abuse layer. The abuse layer being a blend of one or more polyamides and an anhydride grafted or maleic anhydride grafted elastomer. Anhydride or maleic anhydride grafted elastomers include ethylene propylene diene monomer, ethylene propylene copolymer, styrene-ethylene-butylene-styrene, ethylene/octene copolymer and blends thereof. A pouch for made from the multilayer film, a method for packaging a food product with the multilayer film are also disclosed.

Decorative sheet

Provided is a decorative sheet having excellent abrasion-resistance. Also, provided is a decorative sheet capable of reducing abrasion sound. A decorative sheet is provided with; a linear irregularity pattern formed by a plurality of groove parts arranged side by side; and a protrusion pattern that coexists inside the linear irregularity pattern, is arranged at random without having any regularity with respect to the linear irregularity pattern, and is formed to have at least a height equal to or higher than a height of a protrusion part of the linear irregularity pattern. The protrusion pattern reinforces the linear irregularity pattern.

IN MOLD PAINTING OF LIGHTWEIGHT CORE STRUCTURE ASSEMBLY WITH VEHICLE EXTERIOR SURFACE FINISH

A composite sandwich panel structure is provided with a lightweight core sandwiched between a high gloss surface sheet and an optically uniform painted or otherwise finished structural skin that are adhered to the lightweight core so as to reduce delamination of the formed part. The structural skin is surface finished during the formation of the sandwich panel structure and does not require any post manufacturing finishing steps such as a separate painting step or material application step. The sandwich composite structure, the high gloss surface sheet, and structural skin are adhered to the lightweight core with an adhesive or glue that is viscous when applied. The viscosity of the adhesive as applied allows for contact with the interior volume of the lightweight core to create more adhesion surface area yet without excessively running into the pores defined in the lightweight core before the adhesive cures or hardens.

The resin film of the present invention is such that, when one surface of a laminated glass obtained by adhesion of two sheets of standard glass having a thickness of 2.5 mm with the resin film being interposed is irradiated with simulated solar light by a solar simulator in a perpendicular direction, a ratio between a maximum value and a minimum value with respect to brightness measured in directions at angles relative to a direction perpendicular to other surface of the laminated glass, of 30, 45, 60 and 75, is 0.1 or more. The laminated glass of the present invention comprises the resin film of the present invention and paired glass members, in which the resin film is placed between the paired glass members. The screen of the present invention is such that, when one surface is irradiated with simulated solar light by a solar simulator in a perpendicular direction, a ratio between a maximum value and a minimum value with respect to brightness measured in directions at angles relative to a direction perpendicular to other surface, of 30, 45, 60 and 75, is 0.1 or more. According to the present invention, there can be provided a resin film, a laminated glass and a screen, in which high-contrast image display is realized with the laminated glass being low in haze.

An apparatus and method for fabricating a panel from a molten composite material, and a panel product fabricated accordingly. Two platens in spaced relation define a gap which decreases uniformly from first ends of the platens toward second ends of the platens. Molten composite material is moved through the decreasing gap to compress the material between the platens. Cooling drums cool the composite panel shortly after extrusion. A mesh is rolled into a surface of the extruded panel; the screen remains partially exposed on the panel surface to provide a panel surface amenable to the application of adhesives.
