TRANSPARENT WOOD COMPOSITE, SYSTEMS AND METHOD OF FABRICATION
Highly transparent (up to 92% light transmittance) wood composites have been developed. The process of fabricating the transparent wood composites includes lignin removal followed by index-matching polymer infiltration resulted in fabrication of the transparent wood composites with preserved naturally aligned nanoscale fibers. The thickness of the transparent wood composite can be tailored by controlling the thickness of the initial wood substrate. The optical transmittance can be tailored by selecting infiltrating polymers with different refractive indices. The transparent wood composites have a range of applications in biodegradable electronics, optoelectronics, as well as structural and energy efficient building materials. By coating the transparent wood composite layer on the surface of GaAs thin film solar cell, an 18% enhancement in the overall energy conversion efficiency has been attained.
Joined fiber-reinforced composite material assembly with tunable anisotropic properties
An anisotropic composite material assembly comprising a first layer with a tensile modulus different from its compressive modulus and that exhibits variable modulus behavior. The first layer elastically buckle under compressions. A second layer has a tensile modulus substantially the same as its compressive modulus. The first and second layers are joined together, and the assembly is bendable in a first direction with an outer surface of the first layer being in compression and the assembly has a first bending stiffness during bending in the first direction. The assembly is bendable in a second direction opposite the first direction with the outer surface of the first layer being in tension, and the assembly has a second bending stiffness greater than the first bending stiffness during bending in the second direction.
ANTIBACTERIAL LAYER-ATTACHED BASE MATERIAL AND FILM FOR DISPLAY
Provided are an antibacterial layer-attached base material, which has excellent anti-glare characteristics and in which rainbow unevenness and warping are suppressed, and a film for a display using the antibacterial layer-attached base material. The antibacterial layer-attached base material includes: a base material having optical anisotropy, and an antibacterial layer which is disposed on at least a part of a surface of the base material, in which the antibacterial layer contains antibacterial agent fine particles and a binder, an average particle diameter of the antibacterial agent fine particles is 0.05 to 1 μm, the thickness of the antibacterial layer is greater than 5 μm and smaller than or equal to 15 μm, and a tensile strength of the base material is greater than or equal to 200 MPa.
Structural composite panels for motor homes, recreational vehicles, and trailers
The present disclosure relates to laminate composite panels comprising a first layer of fiberglass reinforced polyester (“FRP”) and a second layer of a polyurethane material. The polyurethane layer can comprise a reaction product between an aromatic polyester polyether polyol and a diisocyanate. The polyurethane is cured-in-place on a surface of the FRP, thus creating a laminate composite material wherein the layers are adhered together without application of a separate adhesive layer. The panels exhibit improved water resistance and strength properties. The laminate composite can be adhered to a second material such as wood, polystyrene, polyurethane, or non-wovens. Such panels are particularly suitable for use in recreational vehicles, motor homes, trailers, and as building materials. Methods of making such laminate composite materials are also provided.
ANISOTROPIC CONDUCTIVE FILM (ACF) STRUCTURE AND HOT-PRESSING METHOD AND HOT-PRESSING ASSEMBLY THEREOF
An anisotropic conductive film (ACF) structure and a hot-pressing method and a hot-pressing assembly thereof are provided. The ACF structure includes an ACF and a copper/gold foil surface layer as a substrate. The ACF structure is hot-pressed by a hot-pressing method, which includes the following steps: allowing, when the ACF is in a molten state, the copper/gold foil surface layer and a bonded part to be conductive respectively to generate a magnetic field around to enhance the attraction of the copper/gold foil surface layer and the bonded part to conductive particles inside the ACF; and applying, when the ACF is in a curing stage, a closed circuit to ends of the copper/gold foil surface layer and the bonded part to perform real-time detection on the ACF to ensure the effectiveness of the hot pressing.
Substrate and multilayer substrate
A substrate includes a fabric-like member. First inorganic fillers exist on a surface of the fabric-like member.
Thermoplastic rubber
PRISM Thermoplastic Rubber (PTR) is a novel, composite rubber material technology principally compounded from EOL, ambient ground, whole tires through the management of a unique process governed by the application of advanced, quantum field physics. The value from this technology is to provide a virgin-material-analog that may be readily integrated at high ratio, into new tire construction using conventional tire chemistry and manufacturing techniques resulting in a sustainable and significant, positive cost-benefit ratio as compared to current tire manufacturing economics.
ANISOTROPIC CONDUCTIVE FILM AND PRODUCTION METHOD OF THE SAME
An anisotropic conductive film has first and second connection layers formed on a first layer surface. The first connection layer is a photopolymerized resin layer, and the second is thermo- or photo-cationically, anionically, or radically polymerizable resin layer. On the surface of the first connection layer on a second connection layer side, conductive particles for anisotropic conductive connection are in a single layer. The first connection layer has fine projections and recesses in a surface. An anisotropic conductive film of another aspect has first, second, and third connection layers layered in sequence. The first layer formed of photo-radically polymerized resin. The second and third layers are formed of thermo-cationically or thermo-anionically polymerizable resin, photo-cationically or photo-anionically polymerizable resin, thermo-radically polymerizable resin, or photo-radically polymerizable resin. On a surface of the first connection layer on a second connection layer side, conductive particles for anisotropic conductive connection are in a single layer.
