THERMOFORM WINDSHIELD STACK WITH INTEGRATED FORMABLE MOLD
A method of installing a stack of two or more lenses on a curved substrate includes placing a moldable covering on a curved substrate, the moldable covering including a stack of two or more lenses, an adhesive layer interposed between each pair of adjacent lenses from among the two or more lenses, and a sacrificial layer disposed on an outermost lens of the stack, the sacrificial layer including a sacrificial lens and a sacrificial adhesive interposed between the sacrificial lens and the outermost lens of the stack. The method may include applying heat and pressure to the sacrificial layer and peeling off the sacrificial layer to reveal the stack of two or more lenses.
Resin sheet having capillaceous bodies and molded product thereof
A sheet expressing a good tactile sensation and a molded product thereof. By configuring a resin sheet including hairlike bodies arranged regularly on at least one surface of an underlayer in which a continuous phase is formed without any structural boundary between the underlayer and the hairlike bodies, and the underlayer and the hairlike bodies have at least partially a crosslinked structure, a molded product expressing a good tactile sensation is obtained.
METAL ROOFING SYSTEM
A metal roofing system contains, in order a roof deck, a fire resistant (FR) fleece, and a metal sheeting system. The second side of the FR fleece faces the roof deck. The FR fleece contains a plurality of FR staple fibers and a plurality of first char scaffold fibers. The FR fleece has a fleece thickness defined as the distance between the first side and the second side. The metal sheeting system contains a plurality of metal sheets having an upper and lower side, where the lower side of the metal sheeting system faces the first side of the FR fleece. The metal sheets have an average metal sheet thickness defined as the distance between the upper and lower sides, where the thickness of the FR fleece is at least about 3 times the average metal sheet thickness. The FR fleece has a density of less 0.5 g/cm.sup.3.
Polyvinyl acetal resin film and film roll thereof, and laminate comprising same
The present invention relates to a polyvinyl acetal resin film, comprising a polyvinyl acetal resin material, wherein the polyvinyl acetal resin film has a thickness of 5 to 350 μm, and satisfies the following Formulae (1) and (2) where, comparing one surface and the other surface, a mean value of the 10-point average roughness of a rougher surface A and a mean value of the 10-point average roughness of a smoother surface B are defined as Rz1(a) μm and Rz2(a) μm, respectively:
Rz1(a)>1.1×Rz2(a) (1)
3>Rz2(a) (2), a value obtained by dividing the standard deviation of the 10-point average roughness of the surface A by Rz1(a) and a value obtained by dividing the standard deviation of the 10-point average roughness of the surface B by Rz2(a) are each 0 to 0.30, a viscosity of a toluene/ethanol (1:1, mass ratio) solution containing 10%-by-mass of a polyvinyl acetal resin contained in the polyvinyl acetal resin material, which is measured at 20° C. and 30 rpm using a Brookfield-type (B-type) viscometer, is 100 to 1,000 mPa.Math.s, and the amount of a plasticizer in the polyvinyl acetal resin film is 0 to 20% by mass based on a total mass of the polyvinyl acetal resin film.
PEI particle foams for applications in aircraft interiors
Polymer foams based on polyetherimides (PEIs) fulfill the legal specifications demanded by the aviation industry for aircraft interiors. Specifically, the demands on fire characteristics, stability to media and mechanical properties constitute a great challenge here. According to related art, suitable polymer foams are produced as semi-finished products. Reprocessing to give shaped articles is uneconomic in terms of time and material exploitation, for example by virtue of large amounts of cutting waste. The material is suitable in principle and can be processed to give particle foam mouldings. These mouldings can be produced without reprocessing in short cycle times and, hence, economically. Furthermore, this gives rise to new means of functional integration, for example by direct incorporation of inserts etc. in the foam, and with regard to freedom in terms of design.
ACRYLIC MULTILAYER FOIL WITH IMPROVED MECHANICAL PROPERTIES AND A HIGH WEATHERING RESISTANCE
An acrylic multilayer foil includes a layer in which silica particles are uniformly distributed in an acrylic polymer matrix and at least one further layer. Due to adhesive promoting properties of the layer containing silica particles, the multilayer foil can be easily coated or laminated onto a substrate. The foil has a high weathering resistance and excellent mechanical properties. Therefore, the multilayer foil is highly suitable for surface-protection of materials such as polyvinyl chloride (PVC) and for use in high-pressure laminates (HPLs).
PACKAGE FOR FOOD AND RELATED METHOD OF PACKAGING
A food package having a heat-sealed cover composed of a lower plastic film and an upper plastic film which is distinct and separate from the lower plastic film is disclosed. The upper and lower films are collapsible, i.e., they can be creased and crumpled into a ball without effort or folded as a tissue paper. The lower film and upper film are heat-sealed to each other at respective perimeter edges to define a closed, watertight internal housing filled with a modified atmosphere. A tray, configured to house the food product, is inserted in the closed internal housing but is not fixed to the upper or lower film. The food packaging described herein allows a substantial reduction of plastic compared to those currently on the market, while guaranteeing its mechanical rigidity, and the long-term quality of the product. A method for producing the packaging is also disclosed.
