REFORMABLE EPOXY RESIN FOR COMPOSITES
The present invention contemplates a method for forming a composite structure including a plurality of rigid layers and one or more reformable epoxy resin layers. The resulting composite is molded to form a non-planar composite structure.
METHOD FOR PRODUCING A MULTI-LAYER COMPOSITE FILM, MULTI-LAYER COMPOSITE FILM, AND USE THEREOF
A method is for producing a coextruded and biaxially stretched composite film using a novel combination of stretching and relaxation steps. A corresponding composite film has little or no shrinkage.
POLYMER SAFETY GLAZING FOR VEHICLES
A laminate includes a polycarbonate substrate and an ultraviolet hard coat film disposed on the polycarbonate substrate. The ultraviolet hard coat film may include a polyethylene terephthalate (PET) layer, an adhesive interposed between the PET layer and the polycarbonate substrate, and an exterior hard coat disposed on the PET layer opposite the polycarbonate substrate. The exterior hard coat may include UV stabilizers. The laminate may include additional ultraviolet hard coat films stacked on the ultraviolet hard coat film. The laminate may be thermoformed into the shape of a curved vehicle windshield.
TRANSFER FILM FOR TRANSFERRING COATING MATERIALS TO COMPONENTS
The invention relates to a polymeric film for coating plastics mouldings with a coating material, the polymeric film comprising an adhesion-modified layer and also a layer of the coating material; where the polymeric film together with the adhesion-modified layer and the layer of the coating material is formable at room temperature; where the coating material wholly or partly covers the adhesion-modified layer; and where the adhesion-modified layer has a layer thickness of at least 0.1 μm; and where the adhesion-modified layer is in direct contact with the coating material. The invention further relates to uses of the polymeric film of the invention, to methods for its production and to methods for coating components using the polymeric film of the invention.
MULTILAYER WATER-DISPERSIBLE ARTICLES
Disclosed herein are multilayer water-dispersible articles, optionally a film, comprising a water-soluble polymer and a wax. Also disclosed are multilayer water-dispersible articles including a water-dispersible substrate layer having a thickness in a range of about 5 μm to about 10 mm, and a water-dispersible coating layer on the substrate layer, the coating layer having a thickness in a range of about 0.5 to about 250 μm, wherein water-dispersible article has a moisture vapor transmission rate (MVTR) of about 60 g H.sub.2O/m.sup.2/day to about 300 g H.sub.2O/m.sup.2/day or less.
FULLY-ADHERED ROOFING SYSTEMS UTILIZING A PRIMER HAVING A SILICON-TERMINATED POLYMER
A method of installing a roof system includes providing a first membrane composite; adhesively securing the first membrane composite to a roof surface through a UV-cured pressure-sensitive adhesive layer; providing a second membrane composite; adhesively securing the second membrane composite to the roof surface through a UV-cured pressure-sensitive adhesive layer, where the second membrane composite is positioned adjacent to and partially overlapping a lap area of the first membrane composite; and adhesively securing the second membrane composite to a first planar surface of the first membrane composite along a primer layer through the UV-cured pressure-sensitive adhesive layer disposed on the second membrane composite.
Antifog sealant composition and coextruded multilayer polyester film including the same
The invention relates to a sealant antifog composition for polyester films comprising anionic and non-ionic surfactants in a mixture of amorphous and (semi)crystalline polyesters. The invention also relates to a multi-layer film comprising a sealant layer having the above composition, to the use of said films in food packaging and to the packages obtained therefrom.
DEEP-DRAWN SEGMENT
A method for producing a water-tight, water-vapour-permeable segment, having a three-dimensional contour, for a shoe shaft, an item of clothing or a rucksack or for producing a shoe shaft, an item of clothing or a rucksack, the segment being free of connection points in its surface, and the method for producing the segment being a thermoforming process in which the two-dimensional flat structure obtained is completely laminated in its entirety, the segment being free of connection points in its surface. Also, a water-tight, water-vapour-permeable segment of a three-dimensional functional laminate for introduction into a shoe or shoe shaft, an item of clothing or a rucksack, the segment being dimensionally stable under its own weight, of a single piece and free of connection points in its surface.
NOISE ATTENUATING TRIM PART FOR A VEHICLE
Noise attenuating trim part for a vehicle comprising a pile layer, a bonding mass layer and a backing layer whereby the bonding mass layer is bonded to the adjacent layers whereby the bonding mass layer is comprising at least thermoplastic elastomeric polyolefin based compound material (TPO) with a filler content of at least 55%, and whereby
the bonding mass layer has a density of between 1.4 and 1.75 kg/dm.sup.3, a viscosity of less than 50.000 mPa.s and a MFI above 250 and whereby the bonding mass layer is adjacent the pile layer and partly penetrated into the lower area of the pile thereby binding the fibers and/or filaments and/or the tufts within the pile.
