Performance enhancements for glass materials
Methods of manufacturing a layered glass element and various components of a layered class element, such as a pre-form assembly and a woven panel, are disclosed herein. These methods include the step of supplying a woven panel having a plurality of elongated strands woven into an open weave to define a first porous surface opposite of a second porous surface. A layer of interlayer material is applied to the first and second porous surfaces to encapsulate at least a portion of the woven panel within the interlayer material. These elements may be placed between a first and second layer of glass materials. A degree of pressure and heat is then applied for a first period of cure time to bond the interlayer material and the woven panel into either a pre-form assembly or a layered glass element.
PANEL WITH PAINT READY SURFACE
In a preferred embodiment, a composite panel with a smooth outer surface, ready for painting with or without addition of primer, may be created by constructing a panel layup assembly upon a mold, the panel layup assembly including a composite panel having a core and a resin formulation, and a release film between the mold and the composite panel, where a smooth release surface of the release film is in contact with the composite panel upon construction; initiating curing of the composite panel at a first temperature within a lowermost ten percent of a curing temperature range of the resin formulation; continuing curing of the composite panel at a second temperature above the lowermost ten percent of the curing temperature range; and completing curing of the composite panel at a third temperature below the second temperature.
METHOD OF MANUFACTURING A TIMBER COMPOSITE, THE TIMBER COMPOSITE OBTAINED AND DECORATIVE PANELS COMPRISING SUCH TIMBER COMPOSITE
A decorative panel including a substrate material and a decorative top layer, wherein the decorative top layer includes at least one timber layer with a wood structure, wherein the timber layer is a compressed timber layer with naturally occurring vessels throughout a thickness of the wood structure, the vessels being collapsed.
Carrier release
A technique comprising: providing an assembly temporarily adhered on opposite sides to respective carriers by respective adhesive elements, the assembly including at least one plastic support sheet; heating the assembly while mechanically compressing the assembly between the carriers, wherein the strength of adhesion of one of said adhesive elements to the respective carrier and/or to the assembly is partially reduced during said heating of the assembly under mechanical compression; and wherein the strength of adhesion of the said adhesive element to the carrier and/or to the assembly is further reducible by further heating the said adhesive element after partially or completely relaxing the pressure at which the assembly is mechanically compressed between the two carriers.
Method of manufacturing a timber composite, the timber composite obtained and decorative panels comprising such timber composite
A decorative panel including a substrate material and a decorative top layer. The decorative top layer is formed by at least one timber layer penetrated with a cured adhesive, and the timber layer has a wood structure with collapsed vessels having opposed walls, the opposed walls being glued together permanently by the cured adhesive.
A decorative panel including a substrate material and decorative top layer, wherein the decorative top layer includes at least one timber layer, wherein the timber layer is a compressed timber layer with a permanent increased density as compared to an original timber layer, wherein the decorative panel is a square or rectangular floor panel which, at, at least one pair of opposite edges, or at both pairs, includes mechanical coupling allowing to couple two of such floor panels to each other such that a locking is created in a vertical direction perpendicular to a plane of the coupled panels, as well as in a horizontal direction perpendicular to a coupled edge and in the plane of the coupled panels, the mechanical coupling being in the substrate material.
METHOD FOR MAKING A LAYERED STRUCTURE EMBEDDING THREE-DIMENSIONAL ELEMENTS MADE OF CRYSTAL GLASS OR PRECIOUS STONES
A method for making a layered structure without any defects, including a first support layer, a second support layer, and an adhesive intermediate layer interposed between the first layer and the second layer which is adapted to fix the layers on each other. The intermediate layer embeds operatively at least a three-dimensional macroscopic element being made of crystal glass or precious stones, and the intermediate layer is made of a thermoplastic resin having a melting temperature.
POROUS SUBSTRATE-BASED MICROFLUIDIC DEVICES
A method of manufacturing a microfluidic analytical device comprising providing a top lamination layer and a bottom lamination layer, wherein each of the top lamination layer and bottom lamination layer comprises an outer layer and an inner layer, cutting out one or more channel spaces from the at least one of the top lamination layer and the bottom lamination layer, wherein the one or more channel spaces form a microfluidic path, positioning at least one middle layer between the top lamination layer and the bottom lamination layer, such that each of the two inner layers face the at least one middle layer, and subjecting the top lamination layer and the bottom lamination layer to a process, wherein the process allows both the inner layers to permeate substantially through the at least one middle layer.
