The cavitation-prone fluids can include molecules dissolved in fluids, ethanol, glycerin, and ethylene glycol. The septa dissecting can include using a cutting blade and/or cavitation HIFU. The cosmetic treatment system may be used in various cosmetic procedures, such as treating cellulite.
SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR TARGETED NEUROREGENERATION
The present subject matter relates to techniques for treating a neurodegenerative disease. The disclosed system can include a transducer for stimulating a target tissue with focused ultrasound (FUS) and at least one nanocup. The transducer induces the FUS with a predetermined parameter to open the target tissue. The nanocup can include at least one gas pocket within a cavity of the nanocup and an effective amount of an active agent for neuroregeneration.
ULTRASOUND ABLATION APPARATUS AND METHODS OF USE
An ultrasound ablation apparatus is disclosed for facilitating navigation, ablation, and ablation monitoring relative to an at least one target material positioned within or adjacent to a tissue of a patient. In at least one embodiment, the apparatus provides an instrument portion and a base portion engaged with a proximal end of the instrument portion. An opposing distal end of the instrument portion provides a plurality of ultrasound transducers configured for both obtaining an at least one ultrasound image of the target material and selectively emitting acoustic energy to heat, destroy and/or perturb the target material, the transducers arranged so as to form an at least one array. The distal end of the instrument portion further provides an at least one acoustically matched covering positioned and configured for extending over top of the transducers so as to not inhibit the functionality of the transducers.
Energy based hyperhidrosis treatment
A method and system for energy-based (e.g., ultrasound treatment and/or other modalities) of sweat glands are provided. An exemplary method and system for targeted treatment of sweat glands can be configured in various manners, such as through use of therapy only, therapy and monitoring, imaging and therapy, or therapy, imaging, and monitoring, and/or through use of focused, unfocused, or defocused ultrasound (or other energy) through control of various spatial and temporal parameters. As a result, ablative energy can be deposited at the particular depth at which the aberrant sweat gland population is located below the skin surface.
Devices and methods for the ultrasound treatment of ischemic stroke
Ultrasonic sonothrombolysis systems to produce two acoustic pressure levels of insonation during stroke therapy, mid/high acoustic pressure insonation directed to the site of a blood clot where microbubbles are present to induce microbubble-mediated blood clot lysis, and low acoustic insonation directed to the region surrounding the site of the blood clot where microbubbles are present to stimulate microvascular reperfusion of the surrounding tissue. The systems simultaneously produce blood clot lysis at the site of an occlusion and stimulate reperfusion of tissue affected by the occlusion.
Transducer placement and registration for image-guided sonothrombolysis
An apparatus for ultrasound irradiation of a body part (208) includes a first ultrasound transducer (216), and a second ultrasound transducer (212) mounted oppositely, and is configured: a) such that at least two ultrasound receiving elements, for determining a relative orientation of the first to the second transducer, are attached to the first transducer; b) for a beam, from the first transducer, causing cavitation, and/or bubble destruction of systemically circulating microbubbles, within the body part; or c) both with the attached elements and for the causing. The apparatus registers, with said first transducer, the second transducer, by using as a reference respectively the features a) and/or b). A detachable subsystem includes either a therapy or imaging transducer, to form a combination imaging and therapy system, the subsystem being configured for removable coupling to correspondingly an imaging or therapy subsystem comprising a head frame (204) to which is mounted an imaging or therapy transducer, the imaging or therapy subsystem for registering the imaging or therapy transducer, one to the other, by the above method.
TISSUE ABLATION USING GAP DISTANCE
Methods for ablating tissue in a patient having atrial fibrillation comprise advancing an elongate flexible shaft through a patient's vasculature into a chamber of a heart. The elongate flexible shaft has an energy source and a sensor. Tissue in the heart is scanned with the sensor and data about the tissue is captured. The captured data is grouped into one of a plurality of tissue classifications and an anatomical map of the tissue showing the grouped data is displayed. At least a portion of the tissue is ablated so as to form a conduction block that blocks aberrant electrical pathways in the heart. The ablated tissue is grouped into one or more predefined tissue classifications during or prior to the ablation.
Systems and methods for real-time tracking of a target tissue using imaging before and during therapy delivery
Described herein are systems and methods for tracking a target tissue during therapy delivery. A system for identifying an anatomical structure and tracking the motion of the anatomical structure using imaging before and during delivery of a therapy to a patient includes an imaging module and a therapy module. In some cases, the imaging module is configured to identify a region of the anatomical structure in an image, and the therapy module is configured to deliver the therapy to a target tissue. A method for imaging during delivery of a therapy includes acquiring an image, identifying a region of an anatomical structure, tracking the region of the anatomical structure, integrating the tracking, generating a unique template library, determining if a pre-existing template matches the results or if the results should be updated as a new template, and delivering the therapy to the target tissue.
