Laminate and method of manufacturing same
Disclosed is a laminate which includes one or more soft layers and an electronic device enclosed by the one or more soft layers, wherein the one or more soft layers have a flexural modulus of 80 MPa or more and 1,000 MPa or less and a water vapor permeability at 40° C. and 90% RH of 15 [g/(m.sup.2.Math.24 h).Math.100 μm] or less.
MULTILAYER FILMS AND ARTICLES COMPRISING MULTILAYER FILMS
Embodiments of the present invention relate to multilayer films and articles. In one aspect, a multilayer film comprises at least one outer layer comprising at least 50 wt % of a polyethylene composition comprising the reaction product of ethylene and optionally, one or more alpha-olefin comonomers, wherein the polyethylene composition is characterized by the following properties: a. a melt index, I.sub.2, of from 0.3 to 3.0 g/10 min; b. a density of from 0.950 to 0.965 g/cm.sup.3; c. a melt flow ratio, I.sub.10/I.sub.2, of from 6.3 to 7.5; and d. a molecular weight distribution (MWD) of from 2.2 to 3.5, wherein the multilayer film has a thickness of at least 2 mils, wherein the multilayer film comprises at least 50% by weight polyethylene, wherein the multilayer film exhibits a surface haze of 13.5% or less when measured according to ASTM 1003-07, and wherein the multilayer film exhibit a water vapor transmission rate of 0.7 g-mil/100 in.sup.2/day or less when measured according to ASTM F1249-06 at a temperature of 38° C. and a relative humidity of 100%.
PACKAGING MATERIAL
The present invention aims to provide a packaging material having excellent printed image quality as well as excellent laminate strength and heat sealability. Provided is a packaging material including at least: a base film, a primer layer, a printed layer, an adhesive layer, and a sealant film in a stated order, the primer layer being formed of a primer composition containing a water-soluble polyvalent metal salt, a chlorinated polyolefin emulsion, and at least one selected from the group consisting of an acrylic emulsion, a vinyl acetate emulsion, and a urethane-modified polyester resin, the printed layer being formed of a printing ink containing a polyester polyurethane resin, the adhesive layer being formed of an aliphatic ester adhesive.
FILMS AND BAGS WITH VISUALLY DISTINCT REGIONS
One or more implementations of a multi-layer film include a first layer non-continuously bonded to a second pigmented layer. The multi-layer film includes an unexpected appearance differing from the appearance of the pigmented layer. In one or more embodiments, the multi-layer film includes a metallic appearance despite the pigmented layer being devoid of metallic pigment. The multi-layer film also includes areas that are visually distinct from areas of the film with the unexpected appearance. The visually-distinct areas comprise areas in which the first layer non-continuously is in intimate contact with the second pigmented layer. The visually-distinct areas have the appearance of the pigmented layer or another appearance. One or more implementations also include methods of making multi-layer films and bags with an unexpected appearance and visually-distinct areas.
Film for bagging tacky materials
A bagging film includes two resins blended with a modifying agent. The first resin, making up about 60%-85% of the formulation, is a copolymer, polymer, elastomer, or combination thereof. The second resin, making up about 14%-39% of the formulation, is a different copolymer, polymer, elastomer, or combination thereof that is physically softer than the first resin. The modifying agent, making up about 0.25%-3.5% of the formulation, is compounded with the resin formulation such that the modifying agent creates a lubricant between the successive layers of the film.
Tamper-evident reclosable packages
The present invention is directed to packages having a peelable/resealable tamper-evident label adhesively sealed to the portion of packaging body with a line of weakness. The peelable/resealable tamper-evident label comprises an unsealed pull tab and a plurality of adjacent tear slits positioned at or near the periphery of the peelable/resealable tamper-evident label. The tear slits are slanted towards the unsealed pull tab. The packages provide evidence of tampering when one Improperly attempts to open the package by removing the label at a corner or a side of the label. When the label is lifted anywhere other than the unsealed pull tab, it will tear at one or more tear slits which indicates that the label has been tampered with.
Process for preventing organoleptic degradation in flexibly-packaged sensitive foods and packaged products thereof
This invention relates to a process for reducing or eliminating organoleptic degradation in organoleptically sensitive foods packaged in flexible packaging, and packaged products thereof. This invention also relates to organoleptic flexible packaging made from polymeric films comprising oxidation-stable and non-migratory polysiloxane as slip additive. The oxidative-stability and non-migratory nature of the polysiloxane slip additive provides an organoleptic flexible packaging that is non-interactive with and inert to the organoleptically sensitive food packaged within, specifically: (1) coffee; (2) beer; (3) water; and (4) wine.
COMPOSITIONS AND MATERIALS FOR ODOR REDUCING ARTICLES INCLUDING TRASH BAGS
Disclosed herein are polymer-based films (and articles of manufacture made therefrom or comprising thereof). In several embodiments, the film comprises biodegradable polymers. In several embodiments, the film comprises post-consumer recycled material. In several embodiments, the film comprises an odor absorbing agent (e.g., carbon). In several embodiments, an article of manufacture comprising a film as disclosed herein or the film itself is biodegradable.
Recyclable retort pouch and recyclable retort polyester film thereof
A recyclable retort pouch and a recyclable retort polyester film thereof are provided. The recyclable retort polyester film includes a heat seal layer and at least one polyester layer. The heat seal layer is composed of isophthalic acid, neopentyl glycol, polybutylene terephthalate, 1,4-cyclohexanedimethanol, and polyethylene terephthalate-1,4-cyclohexane dimethanol ester. The polyester layer is formed on the heat seal layer, and is composed of a polyester composition. The polyester composition includes a polyester resin made from recycled PET bottle flakes processed by physical or chemical methods and the polyester resin has an inherent viscosity between 0.62 dl/g and 1.0 dl/g. The recyclable retort pouch is made of the recyclable retort polyester film.
Antitheft protection device
An antitheft device includes, a lock bag with a bag portion made from a cut-resistant material and a cable guide; and a cable lock, including a lock body, a lock cable, and a key; such that the lock cable protrudes through the cable guide to attach the cable lock to the lock bag; such that the lock body is positionable over a side mirror of a vehicle, with the side mirror inside an interior of the bag portion, such that the side mirror antitheft device can be secured and locked in position on the side mirror, thereby preventing theft of a mirror portion of the side mirror. Additionally, the antitheft device can be secured in position with the lock cable attached to a mounting structure with the lock bag closed and a personal object locked in the interior of the lock bag, thereby preventing theft of the personal object.
