Heat sterilized high protein compositions comprising whey protein and at least one component selected from (i) a saccharide, (ii) a phosphate and (iii) a citrate
The present invention is directed to a heat sterilized composition comprising a protein source in an amount of 1 to 20% by weight of the composition, said protein source containing whey protein and at least one component selected from; (i) a saccharide component in an amount of 0.5 to 7.5% by weight of the composition, and/or (ii) a phosphate component in an amount of 0.03% to 3% by weight of the composition, and/or (iii) a citrate component in an amount of 0.07% to 5% by weight of the composition. The present invention is furthermore directed to a process for preparing a heat sterilized composition which comprises a protein source in an amount of 1 to 20% by weight based on the weight of the composition, said protein source containing whey protein, the process comprising at least the following steps: heating at a sterilisation temperature at a pH of 5.5 to 9.5 an aqueous solution of a protein source as defined herein. Finally, the invention concerns the use of whey protein and at least one component as described for the heat sterilized composition, for preparing a heat sterilized composition and/or for controlling the viscosity of a liquid composition. The invention also concerns medical uses and treatments applying or using the inventive heat sterilized composition.
COMPOSITION OF PROBIOTICS AND DIGESTIVE ENZYMES AND METHOD OF PREPARING AND USING THE SAME
Disclosed are compositions and methods useful for improving blood cholesterol profiles in a mammal, particularly for improving metabolism of cholesterol, for reducing the levels of low-density lipoprotein cholesterol (LDL-C) in the blood, increasing the levels of high-density lipoprotein (HDL-C) in the blood, for improving weight loss in a mammal, and/or for enhancing overall cardiovascular health in a mammal. Methods can involve identifying a mammal in need of lowering of blood LDL-C and/or triglyceride concentrations, and administering to said mammal a specific formulation consisting of a blend of probiotics; specifically, Bifidobacterium infantis, Bifidobacterium bifidum, Lactobacillus acidophilus, Lactobacillus salivarius, Lactobacillus plantarum, Lactobacillus rhamnosus, Bifidobacterium longum, Lactobacillus casei, Lactobacillus paracasei, in combination with a blend of digestive enzymes; specifically, amylase, glucoamylase, lipase, bromelain, maltase, lactase, hemicellulase, xylanase, papain, and invertase. Preferably, the aforementioned probiotics and digestive enzymes are combined into capsules and administered to said mammal three times daily to achieve said lowering of LDL-C and triglyceride concentrations in blood.
GOOD-TEXTURE HEALTHY BOILED NOODLE
An object of the present invention is to provide good-texture healthy boiled noodles or raw noodles having an effective health function of calcium alginate and excellent in texture by imparting a health function of calcium alginate to noodles, and in addition, without impairing original texture of noodles, and in order to solve the object, in a method for producing boiled noodles or raw noodles employing, as noodle making steps in a noodle production method, (A) a mixing and kneading step of kneading a dough by adding kneading water to a powder raw material for noodle production obtained through a mixture of raw materials containing wheat flour; and (B) a noodle making step of forming the dough into noodle strings, a 270-mesh pass pulverized calcium alginate powder is mixed in the powder raw material for noodle production in a ratio of 4 to 8 parts by mass based on 100 parts by mass of the powder raw material for noodle production, and thus, healthy boiled noodles or raw noodles with the health function of calcium alginate and retaining a good texture of noodles are produced. The present invention provides good-texture healthy boiled noodles or raw noodles with original texture of noodles retained, effectively retaining the health function such as an effect of inhibiting postprandial blood glucose level increase, and in addition, without causing, in production of the noodles, deterioration of viscoelasticity and the like of noodle tissue and deterioration of texture otherwise caused in adding calcium alginate.

Treatment for bone diseases
The invention relates to the treatment of bone disorders. In particular, the invention is directed to the use of a dosing holiday to help overcome the resistance to anti-sclerostin antibodies which develops over time when a plurality of doses of antibody are given to a subject. By giving the subject to be treated such a dosing holiday, the subject may subsequently display an increased response to a subsequent dose of the anti-sclerostin antibody. The subject may be given multiple cycles of a batch of at least two doses of anti-sclerostin antibody and a dosing holiday. In some instances, the subject may be monitored to help determine when to give the dosing holiday. Further, the subject may be given a different treatment for the bone disorder during the dosing holiday from the anti-sclerostin antibody.
