METHOD FOR MANUFACTURING LAMINATED PRINTED TAPES AND MACHINE FOR ITS EXECUTION
A method for manufacturing laminated printed tapes, comprising the steps of: causing the advancement of a primary tape, making it adhere, with at least one segment thereof, to the lateral surface of an entrainment drum; performing at least one printing operation with application of at least one layer of ink on at least one portion of the segment of the primary tape in adhesion with the lateral surface of the entrainment drum; and subsequently laminating, on the segment of the primary tape in adhesion with the lateral surface of the entrainment drum, a secondary tape by way of the interposition of adhesive material, so as to obtain a laminated printed tape.
DRYER SYSTEM TO COOL PRINTER
A printer including a print bar and a dryer system. The print bar operates to deposit printing material in accordance with a print job. The dryer system operates to intake and heat air from an internal region in which one or more electrical components of the printer are located. The dryer system directs the heated air through multiple outlets that are acutely angled with respect to a location or media of deposited printing material, to dry the printing material while cooling the internal region of the printer.
LED PRINT CURING APPARATUS
A print curing apparatus comprising an LED array comprising a body; the body comprising a mounting area with one or more LED modules mounted thereon; at least one heat sink; and one or more cooling modules, adjacent to the or each heat sink. The one or more cooling modules comprises at least one water-cooled holder comprising at least one fluid inlet channel and at last one fluid outlet channel therethrough; at least one heat pipe held substantially within the or each water-cooled holder, wherein the or each water-cooled holder is shaped to hold at least one heat pipe.
METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR CURING INKS PRINTED ON HEAT SENSITIVE ABSORBENT ARTICLE COMPONENTS
Aspects of the present disclosure relate to methods and apparatuses for printing and curing energy curable inks printed on a substrate having an onset temperature T.sub.onset (C). The printing systems may include a printing station and a light source. During operation, the printing station deposits energy curable ink onto a first surface of the substrate to define a printed region, and the light source directs ultraviolet light onto the first surface of the substrate to define an illumination zone on the first surface of the substrate. The substrate is advanced in a machine direction to advance the printed region through the illumination zone to cure the energy curable ink. While the printed region advances through the illumination zone, the ultraviolet light heats the substrate from an initial temperature T.sub.in (C) entering the illumination zone to a maximum temperature T.sub.max (C), wherein T.sub.max (C)T.sub.onset (C).
System and method of drying a material deposited on a web
A drying system and method of operating the drying system to dry a printed shrinkable web are disclosed. A web transport is adapted to convey the printed web between a heating apparatus and a cooling apparatus. The heating apparatus directs heat toward the web and the cooling apparatus concurrently chills the web. A temperature sensing device is adapted to develop an indication of a temperature of the web and the controller is adapted to adjust a temperature of at least one of the heating apparatus and the cooling apparatus in accordance with such indication.
Printing press comprising a magnetic orientation unit and a movable drying/curing unit
There is described a printing press (100) comprising a printing group (2) adapted to apply on a substrate at least one ink or varnish vehicle containing magnetic or magnetisable flakes and at least one magnetic orientation unit (10) located downstream of the printing group (2) along a path of the substrate, which magnetic orientation unit (10) includes at least one magnetic-field-inducing device (12) adapted to orient the magnetic or magnetisable flakes contained in the ink or varnish vehicle applied on the substrate to induce an optically-variable effect in the ink or varnish vehicle. The printing press (100) further comprises a drying/curing unit (15) located along the path of the substrate and cooperating with the magnetic orientation unit (10), which drying/curing unit (15) is adapted to dry or cure the ink or varnish vehicle applied on the substrate following orientation of the magnetic or magnetisable flakes. The drying/curing unit (15) is mounted on a movable supporting structure (16) that is adapted to move the drying/curing unit (15) between a working position (WP), where the drying/curing unit (15) is cooperating with the magnetic orientation unit (10) and which is located proximate to the path of the substrate next to the magnetic orientation unit (10), and a retracted position (RP), where the drying/curing unit (15) is retracted away from the magnetic orientation unit (10) and from the path of the substrate.
