Disclosed is a flexographic printing device for a laminating machine, including at least one pair of shoulders mounted on a trolley frame, a blade chamber for containing printing ink; an Anilox roller that rotates in contact with the printing ink, a print roller holding a printing clich? that rotates in contact with the Anilox roller and a counter-pressure roller that rotates in contact with the clich? held by the print roller, wherein at least the Anilox roller and the print roller are supported by respective supports that can slide with respect to the shoulders in a direction substantially orthogonal to their axes, the printing device also including at least one first motor for rotating the Anilox roller, at least one second motor for rotating the print roller and possibly a third motor for rotating the counter-pressure roller.

Lightweight interchangeable magnetic sleeve and method of manufacture thereof

A lightweight interchangeable magnetic sleeve and method of manufacture thereof are disclosed. The sleeve assembly comprises an annular tube in the exterior surface having recesses filled with comparatively rigid magnetic means which are firmly adhered therein. The sleeve assembly includes a tubular radially compressible liner component, relatively slightly shorter than the tube, and bonded inside and substantially axially centrally within the tube thus leaving interior cylindrical end regions of the tube exposed beyond the annular end surfaces of said liner. The remaining exposed interior cylindrical surfaces of the tube are rebated back from the liner exposing annular shoulders within the tube. The rebates are tapped so that correspondingly sized threaded end rings of a more structurally robust, rigid and resilient material than the tube material, can be fitted into the tube ends and tightened against the annular shoulders created by the rebating, placing the entire sleeve assembly under slight compression.

APPARATUS FOR ACTUATING A HYDRAULIC CARRIER ROD OF A ROTARY PRINTING MACHINE

The invention is about a convenient way of fixing a sleeve over a mandrel in a press. The sleeve is attached by applying a hydraulic pressure into the mandrel which deforms itself and grips on the sleeve. The pressure is brought by a piston mounted on a screw inside the mandrel, which when tightened increases the pressure and grips the sleeve.

ADAPTING SLEEVE WITH HYDRAULIC PADS FOR A FLEXOGRAPHIC PRINTING MACHINE

An adapting sleeve for flexographic printing machines defines an exterior surface appropriate for the mounting of a printing sleeve. The adapting sleeve has an outer cylindrical member made of a rigid material and surrounding an inner cylindrical member that defines a cylindrical passage for mounting of the adapting sleeve on a rotary core of a flexographic printing machine. The adapting sleeve has some ring separators that are mounted between the outer cylindrical member and the inner cylindrical member and spaced longitudinally from each other. The adapting sleeve has a hydraulic device that includes hydraulic pads arranged between the inner surface of the inner cylindrical member and the ring separators and connected by a hydraulic circuit to a pressurization element that is actionable manually from the exterior of the adapting sleeve.

CYLINDER HAVING A PARTIALLY GAS-PERMEABLE SURFACE

The invention relates to a cylinder (10) comprising a cylindrical body (11). In the case of this cylinder a first proportion of the circumferential face (48) of the cylindrical body (11) is of porous and gas-permeable configuration and a second proportion of the circumferential face (48) of the cylindrical body (11) is of gas-impermeable configuration, where the porous, gas-permeable first proportion of the circumferential face (48) is in communication with at least one gas supply line and where the first proportion of the circumferential face (48) amounts to at least 0.1% and at most 50%.

Further aspects of the invention relate to a corresponding adapter sleeve (10) and to a corresponding printing forme cylinder.

The invention is about a valve system to grip a sleeve over a mandrel in a press, in particular on how the gripper is brought toward and away from the mandrel and sleeve assembly. The gripper is disengaged from the sleeve, following first a straight path and then a helicoidal path, thanks to an ad-hoc slot machined on an axle. This allows to disengage the gripper and set it out of the way for handling the sleeve, with a single motor and a single instruction.

Mandrel for printing apparatus, printing cylinder and printing apparatus

A mandrel for use in a printing apparatus includes a substantially cylindrical mandrel shaft and plastic expansion rings that are slidably and coaxially mounted on the mandrel shaft. The mandrel also includes a locking assembly including a fixed stop ring and a single locking ring that is axially movably mounted on the mandrel shaft. The expansion rings are positioned between the stop ring and the locking ring. In the unlocked position of the locking ring the expansion rings are in a released state in which the axial compression and the radial expansion of the expansion rings are smaller than in a locked position of the locking ring. A printing cylinder sleeve can be fixedly connected to the mandrel by bringing the expansion rings in the radially expanded state. When the printing cylinder sleeve has to be exchanged, this is feasible when the expansion rings are in the released state.

SLEEVE STATION

A sleeve station dedicated to the assembly of a sleeve and a mandrel for a flexographic press. The sleeve station can be loaded manually, and assembles the sleeve with the mandrel in a vertical orientation when both are in a vertical orientation with aligned axes, avoiding problems caused by the bending of the sleeves during assembly. After loading of the sleeve, it is returned to a horizontal axis orientation.
