A tape having a strip shape extending in a lengthwise direction and a widthwise direction includes: a subject surface located on the tape and exposed in a thickness direction; a first marker provided on the subject surface and being greater than the subject surface in reflectivity to light with a particular wavelength; and a second marker provided on the subject surface and being less than the subject surface in the reflectivity. At least a portion of the first marker and at least a portion of the second marker are identical to each other in position in the widthwise direction. At least a portion of one of the first marker and the second marker and at least a portion of another of the first marker and the second marker are different from each other in position in the lengthwise direction.

A printing system includes: a conveyance controller configured to control a conveyor, the conveyor being configured to convey paper having a printing surface in which label portions are formed at predetermined intervals; a sensor configured to irradiate light on the paper conveyed by the conveyor to detect reflected light of the irradiated light; a detector configured to detect an output of the sensor; a moving average calculator configured to calculate moving averages of voltage values based on the output of the sensor detected by the detector; and a determiner configured to determine that a portion between an adjacent pair of the label portions has been detected based on the moving averages of the voltage values calculated by the moving average calculator, and the output of the sensor.

The invention relates to a wear compensation device (1) of a label printer (2) which prints labels (3) by means of thermal printing, having a thermal head (4) which has a thermal strip (5) with a plurality of heating resistors (6), having a label feeding device (8) which feeds the respective label (3) to the active region (9) of the heating resistors (6), and having a control device (10) which actuates the thermal head (4) for printing the respective label (3). It is proposed that the control device (10) is configured to monitor the electric resistance (R) of one or more of the heating resistors (6) and, if a predefined threshold value (R1) for the electric resistance (R) is exceeded, to increase the energization duration of the respective heating resistor (6) during a printing operation.

Disclosed is a method of automatically setting the position of a labeler of a price labeling system having a sensor strip having a plurality of sensors, arranged in a row and each having unique identifier, a magnet is adjusted along the sensor strip, wherein, the magnet is guided past the sensors of the sensor strip in accordance with the order of their arrangement, on the guiding past the respective sensor, the respective unique identifier of said respective sensor is transmitted to a control and evaluation unit, the order of the arrangement of the sensors on the sensor strip is recognized based on the order of the reception of the unique identifiers, and the position of the respective sensor on the sensor strip is calculated from the known mutual distance of the sensors from one another and from the recognized order of the arrangement of the sensors on the sensor strip.

When the platen unit is attached to the attachment-detachment portion, the main body unit and the platen unit are assembled as a single unit. When the platen unit is detached from the attachment-detachment portion, the main body unit and the platen unit are separated as separate units.

The disclosure discloses a non-transitory computer-readable recording medium storing a virtual label display process program for executing steps. The steps include a composite image generating step, a composite image output step, a determining step, and a notifying step. In the composite image generating step, a real image data of a desired field of view and a virtual image data of a label are combined. In the composite image output step, a composite image data is output to a display device, and a virtual image of the label on the display device is superimposed and displayed. In the determining step, it is determined whether a desired suitability is satisfied between an exterior appearance of a background object and an exterior appearance of the label based on the real image data and the virtual image data. In the notifying step, a predetermined suitability notification is made.
