Tape cassette including RFID tag positioned to overlap with tape roll accommodated in cassette case
A cassette tape includes: a cassette case; a first tape roll and a second tape roll accommodated in the cassette case and rotatably supported thereby; and an RFID tag disposed at one of an upper wall and a lower wall of the cassette case. The first tape roll includes a first tape wound about a first winding axis extending in an axial direction. The second tape roll includes a second tape wound about an axis different from the first winding axis and extending in the axial direction. The second tape roll has a smaller diameter than the first tape roll. The RFID tag includes an antenna and a storage element for radiocommunication to read and write data. A part of the RFID tag is positioned to overlap with a part of the first tape roll in a predetermined direction parallel to the axial direction.
PRINTER
A printer includes a transport part that transports a sheet, a printing part that prints on the sheet, a cutting part that cuts the sheet by moving a movable blade toward a stationary blade, and a controller that controls the transport part and the cutting part. When the sheet is label paper having an adhesive layer, the controller controls the transport part and the cutting part to transport the sheet rearward before moving the movable blade that cut the sheet, move the movable blade in a direction away from the stationary blade in a state where the sheet is fed in rearward, and thereafter transport the sheet frontward.
PRINTER APPARATUS AND METHOD FOR PRINTING PAGES SPACED AT LESS THAN THE PRINTHEAD WIDTH
A printer and a method for printing of pages on a continuous media, such as labels, with any desired or practical spacing using fixed head printheads that have spacing limitations for printing pages on the continuous media. The printer can be configured to detect a top of form mark on the continuous media as it is moved through a media path in the printer and initiating printing of an image on an adjacent page or label at the position indicated by the top of form mark.
PRINTER ADAPTERS FOR HOLDING FANFOLDS OF MEDIA AND SYSTEMS AND METHODS THEREOF
Described herein are novel printer adapters and systems and methods thereof that include techniques and structures for converting a desktop or compact printer configured to print onto rolls of media into a desktop or compact printer configured to print onto fanfolds of media. In other words, described herein are novel printer adapters and systems and methods thereof for converting a roll printer to a fanfold printer.
Systems and methods for calibrating a printer for printing labels
Systems and methods are provided for calibrating a printer for printing labels. According to one aspect, calibration label papers are provided to a printer. Each calibration label paper comprises a horizontal calibration mark and a vertical calibration mark. A test image is printed on a calibration label paper, the test image comprising a horizontal printer mark and a vertical printer mark printed parallel to their respective calibration marks. The calibration marks are compared with their respective printer marks. Using a computing device, coordinates of a virtual label grid representing the calibration label paper are adjusted based on the comparison of the marks. A second test image comprising new printer marks is printed, and the calibration marks are compared with the new printer marks. Upon alignment of the printer marks and the calibration marks, the adjusted coordinates of the virtual label grid are saved as default coordinates for the printer.

A ribbon reeling mechanism includes: a gear supporting member that supports a clutch gear rotatably and is configured to move between a mesh position at which the clutch gear supported by the gear supporting member is in mesh with a first reeling-side gear and a non-mesh position at which the clutch gear supported by the gear supporting member is not in mesh with the first reeling-side gear; a clutch impeding spring that causes a clutch impeding force of impeding movement from the mesh position to the non-mesh position to act on the gear supporting member when a feed motor starts rotating in the second rotation direction; a drive member engaged with the gear supporting member; and a clutch drive mechanism that causes the gear supporting member to move to the non-mesh position against the clutch impeding force when the feed motor rotates in the second rotation direction.
Structure for supporting platen roller and printer
A support structure for a detachable platen roller of a printer that rotates to feed paper, or the like includes a frame that holds the platen roller and a pair of bushings attached to the frame. Ends of a shaft of the platen roller are inserted into the bushings. A part of either the frame or each of the bushings located around the shaft and closer to a guide surface of the platen roller than the frame in a longitudinal direction of the platen roller forms a support part that receives a force applied by a print head pressing against the platen roller.
PRINTING APPARATUS
A printing apparatus includes: a roll sheet container that contains a roll sheet around which a recording sheet is wound; a first sheet guide that makes contact with a first surface of the recording sheet; a second sheet guide that makes contact with a second surface of the recording sheet; and a transport roller that transports the recording sheet. The first and second sheet guides are disposed so as to face each other to form a sheet route along which the recording sheet is to pass. The transport roller transports the recording sheet that passed along the sheet route. The second sheet guide includes: a projection that protrudes toward the roll sheet container; and a pushing section that extends from the projection along an outer circumference of the roll sheet and in a direction away from the first sheet guide.

A tape printing device includes a controller configured to control a feed motor such that, after printing is performed to n pieces of labels, when a label tape is cut between an n-th label and a (n+1)th label counted from a leading edge of the label tape in a first direction and the (n+1)th label is positioned at a print position at which printing is performed by a thermal head, the label tape is fed in a second direction until the (n+1)th label is displaced from the print position.

A non-transitory computer readable storage medium stores a set of program instructions installed on and executed by a computer provided in a terminal device. The set of program instructions includes receiving a print start operation to start printing images represented by first and second sets of print data. The first set of print data represents a first print image correlated with a first print medium type. The second set of print data represents a second print image correlated with a second print medium type. The set of program instructions include transmitting the first set of print data, and transmitting the second set of print data to the printer. The second print image is to be printed after the first print image is printed. The transmitting the second set of print data is performed before the printer complete printing the first print image.
