Printing apparatus and method for controlling printing apparatus
A printing apparatus includes: a printing head configured to discharge ink onto a recording medium to form an image; a platen including a support surface that supports the recording medium; and a recording medium holding portion being configured to hold a plurality of star wheels configured to hold the recording medium toward the support surface in a direction perpendicular to the support surface. In a case in which a maximum value of a height of the recording medium from the support surface in the direction perpendicular to the support surface is less than 2.2 mm when the recording medium passes between the support surface and the recording medium holding portion, a load of one of the star wheels for holding the recording medium with presence of the recording medium holding portion is equal to or less than 4.5 gf.
Image forming apparatus
A printer includes a printer body, a hopper, an open-and-close cover, a paper support, and a support holder. The hopper pushes paper up while supporting the paper. The open-and-close cover is able to be opened from and closed toward the printer body. The paper support is provided in such a way as to be able to be housed inside and drawn away from the open-and-close cover, and is configured to support the paper by being drawn out. The support holder supports the paper, together with the hopper and the paper support. The support holder switches between an upright orientation for being housed into the printer body and a tilted orientation for supporting the paper together with the hopper and the paper support by the opening and closing of the open-and-close cover.
Recording device and control method for recording device
A recording device includes a recording unit, a support unit, a roller pair downstream of the recording unit and configured to transport the medium, a plurality of regulating members disposed between the recording unit and the roller pair and configured to touch the medium from above, and an inversion path configured to invert front-to-back the medium on which recording was performed and to merge upstream of the recording unit, where a nip point of the roller pair is positioned higher than the support face, a bottom end of each regulating member is disposed at a position for pushing the medium down lower than the nip point of the roller pair and of the plurality of regulating members, the regulating members disposed at both end portion sides in the width direction apply less load on the medium than the regulating member disposed toward a center in the width direction.
FRICTION REDUCTION SYSTEM AND METHOD
A friction reduction system for reducing friction of an intermediate transfer member (ITM) of a printing system, while the ITM is guided along the printing system by a guiding arrangement. The friction reduction system includes a fluid reservoir mounted within the printing system, a fluid depositing arrangement disposed along the ITM, and a control mechanism, adapted to control depositing of fluid, from the fluid depositing arrangement onto the guiding arrangement or onto at least a portion of the ITM. Depositing of the fluid reduces friction between the ITM and the guiding arrangement.

Examples of the present disclosure relate generally to a printing apparatus and, more particularly, to apparatuses, systems, and methods for printing utilizing laser print head and reactive media.
Recording device including a recording-time transport path and reversing path
A recording device has: a recording head configured to perform recording on a medium; a medium storage below the recording head configured to store the medium to be recoded; a supply path comprising a first curved supply path curved so as to be convex upward and transporting the medium fed out of the medium storage in a reversed direction via the first curved supply path; and a reversing path comprising a second curved path curved so as to be convex downward and transporting the recorded medium into a direction including a vertically upward component via second curved path from a direction including a vertically downward component; wherein the supply path joins the reversing path, and the first curved path and the second curved path overlap when viewed horizontally.
LABEL PRINTER
According to one embodiment, there is provided a label printer in which noise is less likely to be generated when a thermal head comes into contact with a backing sheet between a label and a label. In a label printer that prints, using a thermal head including a linear heating element, on a label sheet in which labels are attached on a strip-shaped backing sheet at a predetermined interval, the thermal head is configured to swing with respect to a platen roller configured to support the label sheet at a printing position, and a guide portion includes an edge portion that is substantially parallel to a surface of the thermal head having the heating element provided thereon and that is inclined with respect to the heating element is integrally provided downstream of the thermal head in a sheet conveying direction.
Printing apparatus and control method therefor
A printing apparatus includes a conveyance unit configured to convey a print medium, a printhead configured to print an image by discharging ink to the print medium conveyed by the conveyance unit, a heating unit provided downstream of the printhead with respect to a conveyance direction of the print medium and configured to heat the print medium on which the image is printed by the printhead, and a correction unit provided downstream of the heating unit with respect to the conveyance direction and configured to correct curl occurring in the print medium. The apparatus controls to delay, between the heating unit and the correction unit, the conveyance of the print medium heated by the heating unit.
Recording head unit, recording device, and recording method
A recording head unit includes a first line head and a second line head in which nozzles are provided in an X-axis direction. The first line head is arranged on one side of the second line head in a Y-axis direction intersecting the X-axis direction. The first line head includes a first windbreak member. The second line head includes a second windbreak member. A length by which the first windbreak member protrudes is smaller than a length by which the second windbreak member protrudes.
Recording apparatus
A recording apparatus includes a feed portion that feeds a medium, a transport portion that transports the fed medium in a transport direction, a recording portion that performs recording on the medium transported by the transport portion, a support member that includes a support surface that supports the medium on which the recording portion performs recording. The recording apparatus includes a pressing member that presses the medium towards the support member, at a position upstream of the recording position of the recording portion in the transport direction. The pressing member is provided so as to be movable in a direction intersecting the support surface.
