Medium supporting mechanism and printing apparatus
A medium support portion includes a support face configured to support a medium transported in a transport direction, and a guide groove extending along a width direction at the support face. The guide groove includes a first surface and a second surface. The first surface and the second surface constitute inner walls of the guide groove that extends in the width direction, and are opposed to each other in the transport direction. The medium support portion includes a holding unit configured to hold an end portion of the medium in the width direction, and also includes a contact portion. The contact portion is able to move between a contacting position where the contact portion is in contact with the first surface and the second surface in a state of pressing the first surface and the second surface and a separating position where the contact portion is in contact with the second surface and is spaced apart from the first surface. An operation portion is able to move in a direction from either the first surface or the second surface toward the other surface relative to the holding unit. The contact portion moves from the contacting position to the separating position in association with movement of the operation portion in a direction from the first surface toward the second surface.
Drying apparatus, printing medium anti-drop method and non-contact support member position adjusting method
The anti-drop members 7l and 7r are provided to each of the air turn bars 6u and 6l, and the respective anti-drop peripheral surfaces 711 of the anti-drop members 7l and 7r adjoin the support peripheral surface 611 of each of the air turn bars 6u and 6l. In this configuration, on the occurrence of oblique traveling of the printing medium M, the printing medium M is deviated from the support peripheral surface 611 of each of the air turn bars 6u and 6l to the anti-drop peripheral surface 711 of the anti-drop member 7l or 7r. Specifically, the anti-drop peripheral surface 711 of each of the anti-drop members 7l and 7r allows the printing medium M to be supported while providing the clearance from the front surface M1 of the printing medium M deviated by the oblique traveling.
Device and method for processing documents
A device for processing a document includes a processing device for providing a document to be processed with information when this is in an effective range of the processing device with information; and a traversing device with a document carrier device that can be traversed along a trajectory. The traversing device is configured to receive a document to be processed at a transfer position of the device on or at a document-carrying surface of the document carrier device; to move the received document into the effective range of the processing device for its processing and out of the effective range of the processing device after its processing. The document carrier device is traversed at least in sections, at least with respect to a direction of movement component along a specific (first) direction of movement, which runs orthogonally to a plane defined by three different points on the document-carrying surface.
Image forming apparatus and method to adjust amount of sheet medium between upstream roller and downstream roller in conveyance direction
An image forming apparatus includes a controller that performs one or more times a first image forming process including performing image formation on a sheet medium, and conveying the sheet medium in a conveyance direction by rotating a first roller by a first number of rotations and rotating a second roller disposed downstream of the first roller in the conveyance direction by a second number of rotations smaller than the first number of rotations. When a count of times the first image forming process has been performed becomes a particular number of times, the controller performs a second image forming process including performing image formation on the sheet medium, and conveying the sheet medium by rotating the first roller by a third number of rotations smaller than the first number of rotations and rotating the second roller by the second number of rotations.
ADJUSTMENT MECHANISM AND PRINTER
An adjustment mechanism is provided for allowing spacing between a pair of slide guides to be adjusted. The adjustment mechanism includes: a rail having a slide groove, the rail having a plurality of fitting recesses; and the pair of slide guides arranged to be able to slide in the slide groove, the slide guides having protrusions that fit, and are able to slide, in the fitting recesses. By moving the protrusions out of the fitting recesses, the slide guides are disengaged from the fitting recesses and are able to slide in the slide groove.
ROLLED PAPER HOLDER AND PRINTER
According to an embodiment, a rolled paper holder holding and positioning a roll of paper including a rolled sheet of paper in a width direction includes: a container section configured to contain the roll of paper in a space surrounded by a peripheral surface portion and a pair of side walls, a shaft extending between the pair of side walls, a press portion configured to press an end part of the roll of paper, a grip configured to grip the shaft pivotably along an outer circumferential surface of the shaft, and one or more positioning projections positioned on an end of the press portion. The positioning projections may be configured to (a) fit into one or more openings formed in the peripheral surface portion and (b) position the press portion in a width direction corresponding to a width of the sheet of paper.
Relay transport device, feeding system, recording system, and position adjustment method
A relay transport device that is positioned between a recording device, which performs recording on a medium, and a feeding device, which is disposed outside the recording device and which feeds the medium to the recording device, and that relays and transports the medium fed from the feeding device to the recording device is a unit that forms a transport path for transporting the medium, and includes a relay unit, which has a medium discharge section for discharging the medium toward a receiving section of the recording device, and a coupling section, which couples together the relay unit and a support base that supports the relay unit.
Recording apparatus and method for suppressing deviation of recording position of recording apparatus
A recording apparatus includes a cassette or a feeding tray that is configured to mount a medium thereon, a transport unit that transports the medium mounted on the cassette or the feeding tray, and a recording head that performs recording on the medium. Furthermore, the recording apparatus includes a medium detection device and a deviation amount acquisition section. The medium detection device detects at least one of both side edges in a width direction intersecting a transport direction of the medium that is transported from the cassette or the feeding tray (step S12). The deviation amount acquisition section acquires a deviation amount of the recording head in the width direction of the medium based on at least one side edge detection position detected by the medium detection device (step S13).
Printing apparatus, control method thereof, and storage medium to reduce a size of a printing apparatus without a deterioration in productivity of double-sided printing
A printing apparatus includes a supply unit, a supply path, first and second conveyance paths, a printing unit, and an inversion roller. The first conveyance path conveys, to a first direction, a print medium. The printing unit prints an image on the two surface of the print medium. The inversion roller inverts a conveyance direction of the print medium and conveys the print medium in a second direction. The second conveyance path conveys the print medium conveyed in the second direction to the first conveyance path while inverting the print medium. When performing printing on both sides of print media, the print media are convey such that a first print medium supplied from the second conveyance path and a second print medium supplied from the supply path overlap in the first conveyance path.
