Printing apparatus
A printing apparatus includes a platen roller that transports a medium, a print head that is disposed to face the platen roller and prints on the medium, a cutter that cuts off, from the medium, a printed portion on which printing has been performed by the print head, a drive that drives the platen roller, and a processor that controls the drive. After the printed portion is cut off by the cutter, the processor controls the drive such that the platen roller transports the medium in an ejection direction and holds the medium still. After an instruction to start next printing by the print head is received, the processor controls the drive such that the platen roller transports the medium in a reverse direction opposite to the ejection direction.
Heating device, liquid applying apparatus, image forming apparatus, post-processing apparatus, and conveying device
A heating device includes a first heat member and a second heat member. The first heat member is configured to heat a sheet on a liquid applied face. The second heat member is configured to heat the sheet on an opposite face opposite the liquid applied face of the sheet. A temperature of the second heat member to heat the sheet is higher than a temperature of the first heat member to heat the sheet.

Inductive Cover State Sensors for Media Processing Devices
A media processing device includes: a body defining a media supply chamber and carrying a print head; a cover carrying a platen roller, the cover having an open position enabling access to the chamber, and a closed position enclosing the chamber, and cooperating with the body to define a media path extending from the chamber, between the print head and the platen roller, to a media outlet; a target conductor affixed to one of the body and the cover; and an inductive proximity sensor affixed to the other of the body and the cover, disposed to detect the target conductor when the cover is closed.
CONTINUOUS SHEET AND CUT SHEET PRINTING
Examples include an apparatus comprising a media path assembly for a printer. The assembly comprises a transmission module configured to be connected to a first motor of the printer and a first roller connected to the transmission module. The first roller is driven by the first motor through the transmission module when pulling a continuous sheet from a roll around a spindle of the printer in a forward direction towards a print zone of the printer. The transmission module is configured to be connected to a second roller of the printer, the second roller being driven by the first motor through the transmission module when pulling a cut sheet from a cut sheet tray of the printer in a forward direction towards the print zone.

Printer device
According to one embodiment, in a barcode printer (printer device), if a sleep mode transition detection unit (first state transition detection unit) detects that a barcode printer transitions to a sleep mode (first state), or if a power state control unit detects an instruction to turn off the power of the barcode printer, a head position control unit pulls the thermal head (print head) away from the platen roller and holds the thermal head in the state of being pulled away from the platen roller.

Liquid discharge apparatus and liquid discharge method
A liquid discharge apparatus includes a platen to hold a medium; a liquid discharge head to discharge a liquid onto the medium on the platen according to discharge instruction information containing a type of the platen as a designated platen type; an operation panel to display a selection operation screen in which a type of the platen is selectable from the multiple platen types as a selected platen type; and circuitry to: control the operation panel to display the selection operation screen; determine whether the selected platen type matches a first specific platen type; determine whether the designated platen type matches a second specific platen type; control the operation panel to display warning in response to a determination; and control the liquid discharge head to continue to discharge the liquid in response to a determination.
