SHEET-FED PRESS
A sheet-fed press includes at least two units embodied as modules. The at least two modules respectively each comprise at least one individual drive, each individual drive being configured as a position-controlled electric motor. At least one of the at least two modules is configured as a non-impact coating module, and the at least coating module is arranged as at least another of at least two modules that is configured as a primer module or as a painting module.
Defect detection for print media
A duplex sheet printer comprising a first and second sheet quality detection device for determining a suitability of a sheet for printing. The first sheet quality detection device applies a first sheet rejection threshold to which sensed sheets are compared, while the second sheet quality detection device applies a second sheet rejection threshold different from the first. The controller designates sheets in the printing system to be sensed by one of the sheet quality detection devices in accordance with the sheet's media type or the sheet being on a simplex or duplex pass. Different rejection criteria are thus applied to the sheets without adjustment of a sheet quality detection device, resulting in high speed printing.
Printing apparatus and control method
A printing apparatus comprises a conveyance unit configured to convey a sheet to a printing unit configured to perform printing; a control unit configured to cause the conveyance unit to hold the sheet onto which printing was performed by the printing unit; and a receiving unit configured to receive an ejection instruction for instructing to eject the sheet. The control unit, in a case where the receiving unit receives the ejection instruction, controls the conveyance unit to eject the sheet to outside of the apparatus after a predetermined time has elapsed.
Printing apparatus and control method controlling heating of medium
A printing apparatus includes a conveyance unit configured to convey a sheet along a conveyance path, a printing unit configured to print an image by discharging ink to the sheet conveyed by the conveyance unit, a heating unit configured to, in a heating section on the conveyance path, heat the sheet on which the image has been printed by the printing unit, and a control unit configured to control the heating unit so that the heating section is changed in accordance with a print condition.
Medium issuing device, medium issuing system and medium issuing method
A medium issuing device for issuing a medium includes a drive part which drives a conveyance mechanism for conveying the medium in a conveyance passage, a printing part which reads out printing data and prints on the medium according to drive by the drive part, and a control part which acquires enlarged printing data when code data are included in the printing data, the enlarged printing data being enlarged in a conveyance direction of the medium with respect to an original size which do not include the code data, and the control part controls a driving speed of the drive part to a lower speed than a normal driving speed according to an enlargement ratio at least in a portion of the code data.
PRINTING APPARATUS AND CONTROL METHOD FOR PRINTING APPARATUS
Provided is a printer that includes a transport unit configured to transport a printing medium; a detection unit configured to detect a transport direction in which the printing medium is transported by the transport unit and a transport amount of the printing medium; and a control unit that makes the transport unit transport the printing medium after the printing of the first image, makes the detection unit detect the transport direction and the transport amount of the printing medium, determines a transport direction in which the printing medium is to be transported and a transport amount of the printing medium to be transported based on the detected transport direction and the detected transport amount, and makes the transport unit transport the printing medium based on the above determined transport direction and transport amount before printing a second image which is formed an image subsequent to the first image.
GUIDED TRANSPORT PATH CORRECTION
A printer deposits material onto a substrate as part of a manufacturing process for an electronic product; at least one transported component experiences error, which affects the deposition. This error is mitigated using transducers that equalize position of the component, e.g., to provide an ideal conveyance path, thereby permitting precise droplet placement notwithstanding the error. In one embodiment, an optical guide (e.g., using a laser) is used to define a desired path; sensors mounted to the component dynamically detect deviation from this path, with this deviation then being used to drive the transducers to immediately counteract the deviation. This error correction scheme can be applied to correct for more than type of transport error, for example, to correct for error in a substrate transport path, a printhead transport path and/or split-axis transport non-orthogonality.
Printer
The disclosure discloses a printer including a feeder, a printing, a communication device, and a controller. The controller is configured to execute a temperature reception process and a printing control process. In the temperature reception process, first temperature data is received. The first temperature data is broadcast-transmitted from at least one other printer and corresponds to a first temperature inside the other printer. In the printing control process, a feeder and a printing head are controlled on the basis of the first temperature data to form a print on a printing medium and thereby generate a printed matter.
PRINTING APPARATUS
To shorten the time to be taken to start executing a process to handle conveyance trouble of a print medium after the occurrence of the conveyance trouble, a printing apparatus of the present invention, upon sensing of conveyance trouble by a sensing unit during a printing operation, stops the conveyance of the print medium in the conveyance trouble and any print medium located upstream of it, and moves a printing head from a first position at which the printing head performs printing on a print medium to a second position to which the printing head is retreated from the first position, in parallel with a discharge operation for conveying, to a discharge unit, any print medium located downstream of the print medium in the conveyance trouble.
Printer with media storage device
A printer includes a media storage device, a print engine and a media supply system for supplying print media from the media storage device to the print engine. The printer is arranged to print media-related information onto media that are left over in the media storage device after a print process. The media storage device includes a tray arranged for accommodating cut media sheets and having an auxiliary printer for printing the media-related information onto a sheet in the tray.
