Printing techniques for print media are described herein. In an example, a printer includes print head and a feed roller to move a medium under the print head along a print path. The print head includes a first set of nozzles such that the first set of nozzles is proximal to the feed roller. Further, the print head is to print on a Top-of-Form (TOF) of the medium through the first set of nozzles.

PRINTING APPARATUS AND CONVEYANCE APPARATUS
A printing apparatus includes a conveyance unit to convey a print medium, a belt, a tensioner, and a control unit. The belt transmits a driving force of a drive unit to the conveyance unit. The tensioner is displaceable and makes pressure contact with the belt to generate tension. The control unit controls driving of the drive unit in a state where the tensioner is in pressure contact with the belt. The control unit performs first control in which the drive unit is driven with a first control value, which is not based on a driving amount detected by a detection unit. Where the detection unit detects the driving amount, the control unit subsequently performs second control in which the drive unit is driven with a second control value, which is based on the driving amount detected by the detection unit.
PRINTING APPARATUS AND CONVEYANCE APPARATUS
A printing apparatus includes a conveyance unit to convey a print medium, a belt, a tensioner, and a control unit. The belt transmits a driving force of a drive unit to the conveyance unit. The tensioner is displaceable and makes pressure contact with the belt to generate tension. The control unit controls driving of the drive unit in a state where the tensioner is in pressure contact with the belt. The control unit performs first control in which the drive unit is driven with a first control value, which is not based on a driving amount detected by a detection unit. Where the detection unit detects the driving amount, the control unit subsequently performs second control in which the drive unit is driven with a second control value, which is based on the driving amount detected by the detection unit.

A transport roller pair includes a drive roller and a follower roller set. The drive roller is driven to rotate about a shaft. The follower roller set transports a medium held between the drive roller and the follower roller set, by being made to rotate about a shaft by the drive roller. The follower roller set includes at least one first roller and at least one second roller. The at least one first roller forms a first nip region by contacting the drive roller. The at least one second roller forms a second nip region by contacting the drive roller, at a position downstream of the first roller in a transport direction of the medium. The first roller is smaller in inertia than the second roller.

Provided is a photo printer including: a base for accommodating paper therein; a pick-up roller protruding from a bottom surface of the base to feed the paper accommodated in the base in a forward direction; a platen roller for discharging in the forward direction the paper; a head provided above the platen roller to apply heat to the paper; a swing bracket having a front side to which the head is coupled and a rear side rotatably coupled to the base; pressurizing means for pressurizing the swing bracket down to allow the swing bracket to come into close contact with the paper; and head supporting members provided on side walls of the base to support the front side of the swing bracket under the swing bracket and each having an eccentric portion adapted to lift the head up through rotation.

A printing apparatus for printing on a front surface of a printing medium, and thereafter printing on a back surface of the printing medium. The apparatus includes the following elements: a front surface print head for printing a cue mark, and printing a front surface image based on front surface image data with reference to the cue mark; a back surface image data corrector for creating corrected back surface image data based on elasticity information in a transport direction after printing of the front surface image; a detector for detecting the cue mark; and a back surface print head for printing the corrected back surface image data on the back surface of the printing medium with reference to the cue mark detected by the detector.
